Abstract

Recently, the shares of sharia banking were too small compared to the asset ofnational banking. The support from the government indicated that new industries were wellconsidered in the national economic development. Various barriers and challenges neededto be solved through total supports from the stakeholders and all elements of society. Highereducation as the center of analysis and research had a strategic role in contributing thoughtsfor product development, supply of human resource, socialization, education and advocationto the implementation of regulation so that acceleration program could make shariabanking as a part of economic pillar of nation especially medium, small and micro enterprisesempowerment.

Abstract

The growth of Islamic or Syariah banking had been remarkable. It was not onlyoccuring in count ries where the Moslems were majorit y but also in count ries where Moslemswere minority. Syariah banking itself had a specif ic characterist ic known as prof it -and-losssharing system. This prof it-and-loss sharing system was dif ferent f rom interest -based systemused by convent ional banks. Prof it-and-loss sharing system implementat ion had a significant impact on the cost of capital calculat ion in Islamic banks. This research described thecalculat ion of capital cost in Bank Syariah Mandiri as one of Islamic (syariah) banks. The aimof the study was to give view about the capital cost of Mandiri syariah bank in Indonesia. Thedata were taken f rom Mandiri Syariah banks f inancial report during f ive consecut ive years.The data were analyzed by using t rend analysis. Based on t rend analysis in every componentof cost of capital, it was concluded that the cost of capital of Bank Syariah Mandiri syariahbank tended to decrease due to the decreasing t rend of its cost of debt .

Abstract

The Research was empirically retest analyses financial performance under CAMELSratios on degree of bank health. The research model was test financial statements underfinancial ratios on degree of bank health. The purpose of research was to analyze financialratios such as Capitals, Assets, Management, Earnings, Liquidity and sensitivity on degree ofbank health. The population was BPR residing in Pati Sub-Province. According to StatisticCenter Board on 2006, there were 68 BPR residing in Pati Sub-Province. Selection of samplesused purposive sampling with special characteristics suitable with research scopes. So, thesamples of research are 61 Bank Perkreditan Rakyat.Tools of analyses used Regression Logistic.The result of research was from all CAMELS ratios which effect on degree of bank health,Capital which was measured with CAR ratio had level of significance 0.011, Assets which wasmeasured with Assets utilization ratio had level of significance 0.022, Management whichwas measured with OPM ratio had level of significance 0.009, and Earning which was measuredwith ROE ratio had level of significance 0.009.

Abstract

This study aimed to measure how far the role of bank loans extended to supportthe development of leading sectors in South Sulawesi Province during the period 2003 - 2007as the period of observat ion. Data used were secondary data analyzed by using descript ivestat ist ical analysis tools and Locat ion Quot ient methods (LQ). To perform measurements, theresults of LQ calculat ion each economic leading sector of this region compared with thevalue of the share or the average percentage dist ribut ion of bank loans extended to everyeconomic sector. Results showed that there were 5 (f ive) sectors of the economy in SouthSulawesi Province that had values greater than 1 (one), so that the most valuable sector inthe economy of this region during the observat ion period, namely agriculture, mining andquarrying, elect ricity, gas and water supply, t ransport and communicat ions sector; and theservices sector. The role of bank credit in the development of leading sectors of this regionhad not been ef fect ive because there was st ill a fairly large gap between the value of its LQwinningeach of the sectors with the value of the average percentage of credit extended tothe leading sectors during the period of observat ion.

Abstract

The goal of this research was to test education factor as the moderate variable ofthe relationship model among core self-evaluation personality, motives, and organizationalcitizenship behavior. The research integrated the use of attribution theory, social exchangetheory, core self- evaluation theory. A survey was conducted by using questionnaires fromprevious research. The questionnaires were sent to 128 branches of the bank industry locatedin 16 major cities in Java. The samples consisted of 636 tellers. Validity tests and reliabilitytests were used to test the questionnaires contents. The Structural Equation Modelling (SEM)was used to test the relationship among the variables. The result proved that educationmoderated the relational model between core self- evaluation personality, organizationalconcern motives, pro-social values motives, impression management motives and organiza-tional citizenship behavior.

Abstract

The study discussed about the integration of relational bonding, relational quality,on service quality and customer loyalty at the state-owned bank in Central Java. The loca-tions of research included Semarang City, Surakarta City, and Cilacap City. Research methodused multi stage sampling. The sample of research counted 278 customers of Regular Savingfrom Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), Bank Mandiri, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank TabunganNegara, and Bank Pembangunan Central of Java. The hypothesis test in this research em-ployed descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The descriptive analysishad loading factor and 5 % significance rate. The objective of research was to understandand to analyze the relational bonding between the Bank customers through corporate im-age, customer value, and relational quality as well as service quality on customer loyalty. Thestate-owned banks in Central Java already used this model. Result of research, related to theresult of SEM analysis, indicated that the relevancy of relational bonding, corporate image,customer value, and service quality had significant effect on customer loyalty. Therefore, thismodel should be developed by the state-owned banks to increase the customer loyalty.

Abstract

One of strategies used by BRI Syariah Malang in emulation of banking world wasfocusing itself in constructing relationship with customers by applying relationship market-ing. It was hoped to get the customers in the final purpose. Relationship marketing could bedeveloped into three steps, financial benefits, social benefits, and structural benefits. Thisresearch was to know the influence of relationship marketing which consisted of financialbenefits, social benefits, and structural benefits towards customer loyalty in BRI Syariah ofMalang. The total sample was 100 respondents. The analysis system used was the doubleregression model. The result of the double linear regression analysis was that the writerfound out that financial benefit, social benefits and structural benefits influenced customerloyalty at BRI Syariah of Malang simultaneously. Besides, the most influencing variable wassocial benefits.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was how the regulations concerning the financing insti-tutions (rules or rules of play and supervision), how the reality of system or mechanism foreach financial institution referred to in channeling financing to small and medium segment,and on turn, how the impact of these two issues of competition among the existing financ-ing institutions. With in-depth observation and interviews, we found that formally Bank ofIndonesia only act as mediators between the SMEs and business actors such financial institu-tions through training, meeting facilitation for coordination and delivery of information;implications of the operational rules of the microfinance institutions can be divided intofour important issues, those are the target market, the mechanism of realization of loans,settlement mechanism of risk, and strategies to face competition; and the absence of clearrules or boundaries for the operation of financial institutions, in turn, a uniform servicedelivery and increasing competition tightened and increased the risk to the financial institu-tions themselves and for society.

Abstract

The research aimed to find out the farmers understanding of the 5-C principlesapplication and of the credit payback in agricultural sector and its relationship. The methodused was a survey method toward the consumer of BRI Unit Neglasari Kecamatan SalawuKabupaten Tasikmalaya. The research location was purposively chosen considering that thelocation was the center of wood agroindustry wherein the largest capital aid was given. Therespondents were 21 people. The research was carried out from August to November 2008.The data collected was primary and secondary data. The primary data was tabulized andanalyzed descriptively, and the relationship between the two variables was analyzed usingnon-parametric statistical test. The hypothesis was tested using the Rank Spearmans Correla-tion Test. The results showed that the level of the farmers understanding of the 5-C prin-ciples application, i.e. character, capacity, capital, condition of economy, and collateral, wasclassified medium. 13 people were classified medium and 8 people were classified high.There was relation between the level of people understanding of the 5-C principles applica-tion and the credit payback of the wood agroindustry. The result indicated that the higherthe level of farmers understanding of the 5-C principles application was, the higher thecredit payback of the wood agroindustry would be.

Abstract

Banking sector plays a significant role in promoting a sustainable economic development. Its role wasimportant in ensuring the banking intermediary function to distribute money flow from deficit unit tosurplus unit. The analysis of the banking intermediary function was important to ensure the effectiveness ofthe monetary policy instrument, such as: SBI. The model of panel regression would be developed in thispaper to analysis some factors affecting bank loans in Indonesia. The objective was to understand thebehavior of bank loans in Indonesia
