Abstract

Cancer is a long period of time disease, especially can be life threaten. Cancer client who has appearance change caused from disease process and treatment program will under go a process of change that begin with denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Support have to be available when the client who is grieving through the mourning process. The purpose of this research was to know the correlation between the family support with grieving response to cancer client at the Sakinah Islamic Hospital Mojokerto. The research is kind of correlation analytical with cross sectional approach. Population of the research is 13 cancer client. The sample quantity taken is 9 respondents using consecutive sampling technique for a month. Collecting data use a questionnaire and were tested with Fisher’ Exact Test, with ρ = 0,008, it is means ρ < α (0,005), so H0is rejected which mean there is a correlation between the family support with grieving response to cancer client at the Sakinah Islamic Hospital Mojokerto. A good family support will help the respondents use their coping mechanism to the best grieving response. Lack of the support can cause to difficult in successful resolution of grief that the respondent does not end up in the acceptance phase.Keywords: Family Support, Grieving Response, Cancer Client

Abstract

Early initiation of breastfeeding (early latch on) as part of efforts to reduce infant mortality. Several studies have shown that the practice of early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding up to 6 months is still low in Indonesia. This failure is often caused by the onset of problems include difficulty / grievances and obstacles faced by the mother during early lactation. This type of research is observational analytic approach crossectional. The population in this study all women birthing in Desa Mojokarang District Dlanggu Mojokerto district as many as 35 people. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling as much as 32 respondents. The independent variable was maternal knowledge about early initiation of breastfeeding and the dependent is a maternal attitude to initiate breastfeeding early. Instrument which is used quisioner. Data analysed to use Wilcoxon. The results of this study indicate that most respondents had less knowledge about the early initiation of breastfeeding is 17 people (53%), most respondents being negative is 22 people (69%) and meaningful relationship / significant association between maternal knowledge of the attitude of the mother to initiate breastfeeding early in Village Mojokarang District Dlanggu Mojokerto using Wilcoxon statistical test results obtained p <α = 0.05 is 0.000 <0.05. For that health workers provide information about the initiation of early suckling and provide motivation for mothers to want to implement an early initiation of breastfeedingKeywords: knowledge, attitudes, early initiation of breastfeeding

Abstract

Children were first treated, never had an idea of being treated in hospital, the environment changes, the staff were very unfamiliar, stressful in itself for children (Perry & Potter, 2005). This research aims to develop a model of Nursing Response Toddlers with Children Hospitalization Quantity Quality in Hospital Kartini Mojokerto. Observational design (survey), conducted cross-sectional, population of children 1-3 years old. Respondents children 13-24 months 17 children (56.7%). Respondents were given a nursing response after mild hospitalisasinya 19 children (63.3%). Respondents after being given the quality of nursing care are met her 16 children (53.3%). Mann Whitney test standard error of 0.05 (5%) probability value of 0.000 <0.05, there is a response effect of hospitalization on sleep quantity of children 1-3 years old. Children meet quality sleep when someone does not show signs of lack of sleep, not having problems sleeping.Keywords: Hospitalization, sleep quality, sleep quantity

Abstract

Changes are happened surround us and is percieved as a “compulsory menu” for every organization to face dynamic and competitive situation nowdays. The change and the maintenance of change process are needed in nursing practice and nursing services. This study used a descriptive correlational with cross sectional approach. The aim is to examine the relationship between perception factors and the needs of change among nurses at RSUD Sidoarjo East Java. The population were 345 staff nurses who were which was graduated from SPK, D3 and S1 of Nursing. The sample size was 221 staff nurse obtained as a total population. This research found that there is a correlation between the nurse perception on the role of reformer agent and the needs of change (p=0,002), the nurse perception on resistent resources and the needs of change (p=0,008), the nurse perception on change succes factors and the needs of change (p=0,029). A multivariate analysis showed that the nurse perception on role as a reformer agent represents the most significantly correlated with needs of change (p=0,002). Further this research recomends that to conduct a change for better nursing services, it needs to share the vision to all management and staff, from planning until implementation of change, therefore it could be optimized the change process it self. In Addition a reward system is required either material or non material, such as the opportunity to attend the higher education, to attend the seminar or training, voucher given to the nurse who implements change in order to improved the quality of nursing services, so that an improvement of services quality can be achieved.Keyword: need of change, perception, resistence resources, success factors.
