Abstract

Because of the influence from geographical location, weather and other kinds of circumstances in monitored areas, the shift of the node location and non-uniform distribution, this paper proposed an improved DV-Hop location algorithm. First of all, the package structure by changing the anchor nodes to reduce the number of hops data acquisition phase node data storage; introducing weights to the average hop distance calculation phase the original average hop distance calculation method was improved, and between the node and anchor node distance calculated on the basis of reference anchor nodes are different; then, iterative refinement of node localization stage through the use of multilateral measurement method and Taylor series. Finally, simulation experiment of this method, and compared with the existing methods, the results prove that the method in this paper can greatly reduce positioning errors without adding hardware equipment and network traffic, improve the positioning accuracy, a better solution to the problem of node localization networking monitoring area.

Abstract

This paper discusses a technique of developing an integrated sensor system, to measure the mechanical vibrations in 3-axis and the tilt-angle in 2-axis simultaneously, using only single MEMS-accelerometer. Type of MEMS-accelerometer that used in this experiment is MMA7361L, which is an analog-type acceleration sensor in the form of MEMS, with a maximum sensitivity of 800 mV/g. The MMA7361L has three outputs of voltage (Vx, Vy, Vz) in response to the acceleration value "g" of each working-axis corresponding vibrating (gx, gy, gz). By using certain techniques in the design of signal conditioning circuits, then the MMA7361L can be used to detect parameters of the vibration in 3-axis and the tilt-angle in 2-axis at the same time, simultaneously. To accommodate five output signal of the sensor system, used a data acquisition system that was built based on PIC16F876 microcontroller, which are already contained five internal ADC with 10 bits resolution. Thus, the resulting integrated sensor system becomes very simple, minimal components, and inexpensive. The experimental results show that the developed integrated sensor system has capability to measure the 3-axis vibrations and the 2-axis tilt-angle, with fairly good accuracy.

Abstract

Due to the world’s increasingly serious energy crisis, shortage of resources, and environmental degradation, traditional power system analysis and scheduling optimization methods have faced new challenges. This article examines the features of optimal scheduling of power system containing cascade hydropower, and establishes a scheduling model based on the Shuffled Complex Evolution Metropolis (SCEM-UA) algorithm. This model takes the cost of power generation, emission of gaseous pollutants, and the characteristics of the generators fully into account. Constraints on the changes in thermoelectric generator power output were added to the set of constraint conditions, reducing the impact of thermal power fluctuations on the power system. Here, the SCEM-UA algorithm was used to solve the problem of optimal power system scheduling and render the model capable of global optimization searches. Analyses of simulated cases have demonstrated that the SCEM-UA algorithm can resolve the conflict between convergence speed and global search capability, increasing the global search capability of the model.

Abstract

In this paper a real time Single Spherical Tank Liquid Level System (SSTLLS) has been chosen for investigation. This paper describes the design and development of a Multi Model PI Controller (MMPIC) using classical controller tuning techniques for a single spherical nonlinear tank system. System identification of these different regions of nonlinear process are done using black box modeling, which is identified to be nonlinear and approximated to be a First Order Plus Dead Time (FOPDT) model. A proportional and integral controller is designed using LabVIEW and Chen-Hrones-Reswick (CHR), Zhuang-Atherton (ZA), and Skogestad’s Internal Model Controller (SIMC) tuning methods are implemented in real time. The paper provides the details about the data acquisition unit, shows the implementation of the controller, and comparision of the results of PI tuning methods used for an MMPI Controller.

Abstract

This study examines the input factors that were reputed theoretically affecting the information system (IS) project success in term of the processional and causal perspectives. Adopting three of the four dimensions from the McLeod and MacDonell’s (M&M’s) classification project framework dimensions, the study is initiated by inviting the internal project stakeholders in a sampled institution. A stratified sampling then identified 130 people who experienced in the projects as the sample, contacted 90 of the samples via e-mail and  distributed the paper-based questionnaire into 40 certain people especially who are on the managerial level. A number of 62 (48%) valid responses, then were analyzed using the partial least squares-structural equation modeling  (PLS-SEM) software, i.e. SmartPLS. The significances of the whole path coefficients, the acceptances of the overall hypotheses, the relevances of the three predictors relevances, and the moderate coefficient determination of the IS project success variable may present acceptability of the proposed model for the subsequent studies.

Abstract

Image compression is to compress the redundancy between the pixels as much as possible by using the correlation between the neighborhood pixels so as to reduce the transmission bandwidth and the storage space. This paper applies the integration of wavelet analysis and artificial neural network in the image compression, discusses its performance in the image compression theoretically, analyzes the multi-resolution analysis thought, constructs a wavelet neural network model which is used in the improved image compression and gives the corresponding algorithm. Only the weight in the output layer of the wavelet neural network needs training while the weight of the input layer can be determined according to the relationship between the interval of the sampling points and the interval of the compactly-supported intervals. Once determined, training is unnecessary, in this way, it accelerates the training speed of the wavelet neural network and solves the problem that it is difficult to determine the nodes of the hidden layer in the traditional neural network. The computer simulation experiment shows that the algorithm of this paper has more excellent compression effect than the traditional neural network method.

Abstract

The pairwise alignment (PA) algorithm is widely used in bioinformatics to analyze biological sequence. With the advance of sequencer technology, a massive amount of DNA fragments are sequenced much quicker and cheaper. The alignment algorithm needs to be parallelized to be able to align them in a shorter time. Many previous researches have parallelize PA algorithm using various data partitioning schema, but it is unclear which one is the best. The data partitioning schema is important for parallel PA performance, because this algorithm use dynamic programming technique that needs intense inter-thread communication. In this paper, we compared four partitioning schemas to find the best performing one on shared memory system. Those schemas are: blocked columnwise, rowwise, antidiagonal, and blocked columnwise with manual scheduling and loop unrolling. The last schema gave the best performance of 89% efficiency on 4 threads. This result provided fine-grain parallelism that can be used further to develop parallel multiple sequence alignment (MSA).

Abstract

Hardware-in-the-loop simulation is an efficient method for research on radar system.Target’s echo which offered by the simulator should be synchronized with radar on frequency, time, and range bin. However, because simulator needs to take into account of the requirements of various types of radar, it is difficult to make the clock of simulator synchronized with the clock of radar. To solve the problem, synchronous sampling deviation model is established. Influence of sampling deviation on imaging is analyzed. An engineering method is put forward to eliminate the sampling deviation. This method not only provides a reference for simulation system, but also provides a reference for the design of radar system.

Abstract

In this paper, the integrated signal-to-artificial noise (ISAN) design is applied in MIMO wiretap channel to ensure wireless communication security. When the information of eavesdropper is unknown, the total power is divided into two parts: signal and artificial noise. The signal can secure certain quality at the legitimate receiver. The artificial noise which is in the null space of the receiver channel matrix can deteriorate eavesdropper channel by the method of beam forming. The artificial noise power is distributed evenly in other space, so that the eavesdropper channel is deteriorated in all directions. The signal to interface and noise ratio (SINR) is regarded as the efficient parameter on measuring reliability and security of information at the legitimate receiver. The simulations reveal that ISAN can deteriorate the eavesdropper channel and safeguard the information transmission on the premise of the given SINR of the legitimate receiver.
