Abstract

S-box is one of the most significant structures used to construct encryption that is strong and resistant to attacks in encryption algorithms. The new 4D-hyper chaotic system and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) computing are used in this paper to provide a new dynamic S-box generating approach. The 4D generated numbers are processed to generate a hexadecimal number that will encode using the DNA coding method and using addition, subtraction, and exclusive-or operations to produce the final DNA string decoded to make the S-Box. The dynamic form of s-boxes is represented by a minor change in the initial conditions of the proposed chaotic method that will generate dynamic sequences of numbers. The proposed method enhances the security criteria of the block ciphers. The S-box testing criteria were done like strict avalanche, balanced, and bit independence criteria, in addition to differential approximation probability and linearity approximation probability, to test the security of the new S-Box. The results show that the new S-box has good security and is resistant to attacks.

Abstract

This research exhibits a design of a dual-band patch antenna (DBPA) implemented by a rectangular shape incorporated into a circular patch together with a pair of half-wavelength inverted U-slots (HWIUSs) with the single feed for 2.4/5 GHz wireless local area network (WLAN) applications. For this work, the HWIUSs are key in designing a dual-band antenna. The DBPA is fed by a 50-Ohm microstrip line, printed on a copper layer overlaid on an FR4 substrate with a relative permittivity of 4.3 and height of 1.6 mm, while the bottom layer is backed by a partial ground plane. An antenna prototype with a dimension of 0.384λ_L×0.304λ_L×0.013λ_L was contrived and admeasured to verify the simulation. The measurement provides a nearly omnidirectional pattern with a 2.55 and 3.3 dBi peak gain covering a dual-band 10 dB return loss bandwidth of 15% (2.4–2.8 GHz) and 20% (4.96–5.86 GHz), respectively. Noticeably, simulated |S11| and radiation patterns are reasonable following experimental results showing its potential in 2.4/5 GHz WLAN services.

Abstract

Some large companies have difficulty in providing products even though the products are still available in the warehouse. Based on these problems, a solution is needed in managing cosmetic products and can find the right strategy so that it can increase business in the field of sales and improve sales services by using algorithms in data mining that can overcome these problems, such as clustering techniques that use the K-means clustering algorithm as a way to measure proximity data between cosmetic products based on transactions that have occurred. The specialty of the analysis of the management of cosmetic products in this study is that it produces data on products that are not sold enough so that it can provide prevention so that the accumulation of these products does not occur. The use of K-means clustering also makes it easier to collect cosmetic sales transaction data, can solve problems in classifying cosmetic product sales transaction data and find out which products should be in cosmetics stock so as to increase sales profits

Abstract

Dental caries is one of the most prevalent oral diseases, progressively damaging tooth structure and often leading to significant treatment costs. Variations in dental service fees across clinics can become a financial barrier, discouraging timely and appropriate care. This study introduces an artificial intelligence (AI)-based framework that utilises smartphone camera images to detect dental caries and predict treatment costs. A total of 1,200 images of carious and normal teeth were collected from dental clinics in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, and classified by three dental experts. Data augmentation expanded the dataset twentyfold to 23,060 images to address variation and class imbalance. The you only look once version 11 (YOLOv11) deep learning algorithm was employed for caries detection, and its performance was evaluated using mean average precision (mAP), precision, and recall metrics. The model demonstrated high accuracy, achieving an mAP of 96.1%, a precision of 95.5%, and a recall of 93.0%. This study provides the first integration of YOLOv11 with RGB-intensity-based cost prediction in digital dentistry. The proposed system offers a fast, accessible, and cost-efficient approach for early caries detection and treatment cost estimation. These findings highlight its potential to support real-time, AI-assisted preventive dentistry and contribute to more equitable access to oral healthcare.

Abstract

This research examines the efficacy of random search (RS) in hyperparameter tuning, comparing its performance to baseline methods namely manual search and grid search. Our analysis spans various deep learning (DL) architectures-multilayer perceptron (MLP), convolutional neural network (CNN), and AlexNet implemented on prominent benchmark datasets of Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology (MNIST) and Canadian Institute for Advanced Research-10 (CIFAR-10). In the context of this study, the evaluation will be adopting a multi-objective framework, navigating the delicate trade-offs between conflicting performance metrics, including accuracy, F1-score, and model parameter size. The primary objective of employing a multi-objective evaluation framework is to enhance the understanding regarding the interactions of these performance metrics interact and influence each other. In real-world scenarios, DL models often need to strike a balance between these conflicting objectives. This research adds to the increasing wealth of knowledge in hyperparameter tuning for DL models and serves as a reference point for practitioners seeking to optimize their DL architectures. The results of our analysis are positioned to provide invaluable insights into the intricate balancing act required during the process of hyperparameter fine-tuning. These insights will contribute to the ongoing advancement of best practices in optimizing DL models and facilitating the ongoing optimization of the DL models.

Abstract

A motorcycle security system using fingerprint recognition and Telegram notification is a solution to solve motorcycle safety problems and reduce motorcycle loss cases by using fingerprint sensors attached to the owner’s motorcycle and Telegram application as a monitor connected to the motorcycle. The microcontroller used is the Wemos D1 mini connected to the Telegram application as a communication line between the user and the motorcycle. The sensor used is the fingerprint sensor. There are differences in data obtained from the fingerprint sensor response results and the response of the Telegram notification system by testing fingerprints that have been registered and that are not registered on the fingerprint sensor with the measurement results using the stopwatch. Measurement differences on the fingerprint sensor have errors with an average time dispute of 0.27 seconds. Measurement differences in Telegram notifications have errors with an average dispute time of 1 second. Hygiene conditions on the fingerprint sensor influence the difference in reading duration. If there is fingerprint oil before it, then the reading tends to be slow. The difference in measurements obtained is small enough that it can be used as a reference.
