Abstract

Image encryption is crucial for secure data transmission in fields such as IoT, medical imaging, and biometrics. This paper proposes an enhanced encryption framework that combines nonlinear preprocessing with double random phase encoding (DRPE) using the fractional fourier transform (FrFT). The diffusion process replaces the conventional XOR operation with a nonlinear hyperbolic tangent (tanh) function, improving confusion diffusion complexity and resistance to cryptanalytic attacks. Experimental results show a reduction in peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) from 9.03 dB to 7.25 dB and a mean squared error (MSE) increase to 10×10³, indicating stronger encryption and lower correlation with the original image. The proposed method also enhances robustness against histogram and key sensitivity attacks. Statistical analyses, including entropy and number of pixels change rate (NPCR) metrics, demonstrate that the approach outperforms conventional DRPE methods while maintaining computational efficiency. This hybrid nonlinear and FrFT-based framework provides a practical and scalable solution for secure image transmission in sensitive and real-time applications.

Abstract

In data analysis, imbalanced datasets are a frequent issue, where classes in a dataset have an uneven distribution, which can lead to poor performance in machine learning (ML) and predictive modeling. In this study, we analyze distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks at the application layer. Three primary strategies are studied in this study to address the issue of data imbalance in multiclass techniques: random oversampling (ROS), random undersampling (RUS), and the use of class weights. A model using a deep learning (DL) technique has been proposed in this paper to be trained and tested for DDoS attack detection. Based on the results obtained and presented in this paper, it is observed that RUS outperforms class-weight and ROS in multiclass settings in terms of resolving imbalanced data when implemented with the deep learning-based DDoS attack detection model.

Abstract

The best spectrum characteristics and photometric productivities of white light emitting diode (WLED) device possessing light emitting diodes (LEDs) in red rather than phosphor pc/R-WLEDs with the hue fidelity index (Rf) > 97 for correlated color temperatures (CCTs) between 2700 K and 6500 K were attained using the illumination effectiveness (LE) model. We demonstrate four practical pc/R-WLEDs that have indices of Rf and LE of 96–97 and 120–124 lm/W, respectively, under CCT values measured at 2969 K, 4468 K, 5682 K, as well as 6558 K. These LED packages use blue and red LEDs, also phosphors in green as well as yellow, with respective wavelengths of 448 nm, 650 nm, 507 nm, and 586 nm. In the comparison between phosphor-transformed WLED devices (with phosphor conversion) and quantum-dot WLED devices (QD-WLEDs), pc/R-WLEDs make an outstanding performance in competitiveness for high hue generation, particularly under small CCT values, and could eventually replace current pc-WLEDs.

Abstract

Indoor positioning systems (IPS) have become increasingly critical in various applications, from asset tracking to smart environments. While global positioning system (GPS) offers precise outdoor localization, its signal is unavailable indoors. Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology emerges as a promising alternative due to its high accuracy, robustness against multipath interference, and ability to operate in dense environments. Aiming to develop an affordable and efficient system, we present a UWB-based IPS using the DW1000 UWB chip, evaluated with two different low-cost microcontroller units (MCUs): the ESP8266 system-on-chip (SoC) and the Arduino Uno R3. The findings suggest that the ESP8266 SoC is a superior choice for building an affordable and efficient UWB IPS, making it a compelling option for widespread adoption in budget-sensitive applications.

Abstract

This paper introduced new method and model of telecommunication switching system design which can be applied to wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) optical networks, circuit-switching networks or virtual channel/path connections in an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) networks. Modern data switching systems such as electronic private branch exchange (PBX), routers and switches include switching matrix which are constructed in the form of bipartite graphs. In such systems, the issues of requests’ processing are considered from the queuing theory point of view. Associative switching systems are fundamentally new structures, therefore it is necessary to develop adequate methods for their throughput determination. Article covered matters of throughput determination basics of an associative switching system and the obtained formulas used for state probability calculation of switching modules and system throughput.

Abstract

One of the most significant limitations in wireless body area network (WBAN) is the requirement for low energy usage. For this reason, several routing techniques and protocols have been put out to provide an efficient means of energy saving during communication. In this work, we propose three approaches based on the formation of a chain of sensor nodes using a matrix of distances. The first approach is based on forming a single chain using the shortest distances. The second and the third consist in changing the position of the sink by forming a single cluster using the fuzzy C-means (FCM) method and the center of the latter constitutes the new position of the sink. In comparison to RE-ATTEMPT and PSOBAN, the third proposed chain-based approach has enabled a remarkable energy savings, which may have a big impact on the network’s entire lifespan.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of bentonite mixtures in reducing grounding resistance in acidic swampy areas. The method used is an experiment comparing resistance before and after the addition of bentonite in various compositions (25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%), supplemented with linear regression analysis. The results showed that bentonite significantly reduced soil resistance in three types of electrodes: iron rebar, copper-coated iron, and galvanised iron. The highest reduction in resistance was achieved in iron rebar electrodes, from 35.93 Ω to 22.46 Ω (a 37% reduction) with the addition of 25% bentonite. Linear regression analysis showed a consistent negative relationship between the percentage of bentonite and grounding resistance, with a coefficient of determination (R²) varying between 26.40% and 73.39%. These findings indicate that bentonite is effective as a natural grounding material in acidic swampy areas. This research makes an important contribution to the development of more efficient and safer electrical systems in swampy areas and challenging environments, while also supporting the use of natural materials to reduce dependence on synthetic chemicals.

Abstract

The development of low viscosity insulating liquids derived from natural esters is conducted in our laboratory. Nine monoesters, i.e., methyl myristate, ethyl myristate, isopropyl myristate, methyl palmitate, ethyl palmitate, isopropyl palmitate, methyl stearate, ethyl stearate, and isopropyl stearate were synthesized from alcohols and saturated fatty acids. Treatments were performed to reduce water and acid contents and improve the oxidation stability of the monoesters. Some fundamental properties, such as breakdown voltage, kinematic viscosity, density, water content, acidity, and oxidation stability, were tested before and after treatments. The results are evaluated based on the international electrotehnical commission (IEC) standard specifications for low-viscosity monoesters derived from natural esters, IEC 62770. Except for the water content, all other properties have good compliance with the standard. The treatments reduced the water content significantly, but the values are still slightly higher than that specified by the standard.

Abstract

The rapid adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in Indonesia necessitates robust charging infrastructure. However, a major challenge is the highly fragmented network of public EV charging stations (SPKLU). Various operators utilize disparate protocols, resulting in isolated data silos and user range anxiety. This study proposes a nationally scalable application programming interface (API)-based gateway for cross-operator SPKLU integration. The system uses an event-driven internet of things (IoT) push mechanism. A standardized JavaScript object notation (JSON) API ensures interoperability and normalizes heterogeneous SPKLU data into a unified national dashboard. Pilot testing across 20 SPKLU locations in 10 major Indonesian cities validated cross-regional network reliability. The results demonstrate successful real-time status synchronization with a low margin of error (MoE) of 4.65%. To mitigate minor discrepancies caused by temporary network latency, a user interface (UI)-level timestamp transparency feature is proposed. Furthermore, by utilizing dynamic, region specific grid emission factors, the system accurately recorded an aggregated electricity consumption of approximately 3.5 million kWh in June 2025. This translates to an estimated 2.7 million kgCO₂eq in carbon emissions. Ultimately, this centralized platform eliminates information asymmetry for users. It also lays a crucial foundation for future smart grid integration, artificial intelligence (AI)-based demand forecasting, and Indonesia’s net zero emission (NZE) targets.
