Abstract

This paper presents a combination between a fuzzy logic control (FLC) and a predictive direct power control for multifunctional grid connected photovoltaic (PV) system, to solve the oscillation problem in the DC link voltage of the in-verter caused by the fast irradiation changing. The whole system consists of a PV system which interface a DC-AC inverter, a FLC maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm has been adopted to operate the DC-DC converter at the MPP. The predictive control strategy is applied to the DC-AC inverter with FLC in its voltage control loop to improve the power exchange between the grid and the PV system. Simulation results have been verified through MATLAB/Simulink software for the purpose of giving the effectiveness of the suggested control against existed controllers.

Abstract

This paper describes an application based on internet of things (IoT) and gesture recognition through the MediaPipe library to communicate people with hearing and speech disabilities who use Mexican sign language (MSL) with people who do not have a disability. The system is made up of two modules, on the one hand, there is an Apple watch with the ability to obtain text and voice inputs in Spanish to stand for the translation into sign language through video and images. The system can set up a connection with an application in charge of performing sign recognition by capturing images from a camera, the IoT user can connect so that communication between both modules is carried out bidirectionally through Firebase database. During the development of the experimental tests, the visual recognition module was able to recognize signs belonging to the Spanish alphabet, digits, and greetings, with a 96% of precision, while the IoT device correctly displayed voice translations and text to symbology compared to the MSL.

Abstract

Problems of space debris, space security threats and space accidents are an escalating topic that is drawing attention from scientists and researchers worldwide. Based on the practical demand for detecting and surveilling objects in Earth's orbit in the Vietnam's sky area, the research group has designed a space monitoring system to detect and identify orbiting objects using optical telescopes. The idea of this system is to utilize wide and narrow field-of-view (FOV) optical telescope systems to observe and identify the trajectory of orbiting objects. After an image of an unknown object is captured with a wide FOV telescope, an analyzing algorithm will process and predict the trajectory of it, with support of artificial intelligence, and determine whether there is the appearance of an uncataloged object. If it is affirmative, the narrow telescope system will adapt to a new attitude to track the object from predicted trajectory and gather information for future use. Constructing and validating of this monitoring system deployed by the research group are described in this paper.

Abstract

Fertilizer recommendation is the crucial factor to be considered in automation of agricultural predictions. Fertilizer fill the necessary portion of any farming region. There are some micronutrients and macro nutrients which need to be given to crops for proper growth. If fertilization is not done to an optimum level, it may badly harm the soil quality and crop health ,so optimum fertilization is important. In this paper we discuss fertilizer and nutrient recommender, where we have used a new feature selection methodology. We have shown the difference between two implementation cases considering presence and absence of feature ranking and selection. Feature ranking and selection has clearly increased the efficiency of the fertilizer nutrient recommender in our work from 85% to 98%. Feature selection raking has been introduced with random forest approach.

Abstract

The 5G-enabled vehicular network is an innovative technology that has promise for intelligent transportation systems. It enables the transmitting of messages about traffic that deliver the most recent information on congestion, road conditions, and driving surroundings. The communication channel used by vehicle networks is inherently open, which unfortunately exposes the system to privacy and security concerns. To solve the problems of deploying a safe vehicular network, some academics have put forth plans. However, a number of current methods have significant computational or communication overhead costs. To solve this problem, an efficient and secure authentication with a privacypreserving (ES-APP) scheme established elliptic curve encryption is introduced. With the proposed ES-APP, the data signed and verified for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure modes in the 5G-based vehicular network are more effective. The ES-APP scheme’s goal is to meet the criteria for the security and privacy of the 5G-enabled automotive network. Ultimately, this work discusses the critical survey of the existing studies and the expected outcome for the ESAPP scheme and further works in the 5G-enabled vehicular network.

Abstract

The main weakness of complex and sizeable fuzzy rule systems is the complexity of data interpretation in terms of classification. Classification interpretation can be affected by reducing rules and removing important rules for several reasons. Based on the results of experiments using the fuzzy grid partition (FGP) approach for high-dimensional data, the difficulty in generating many fuzzy rules still increases exponentially as the number of characteristics increases. The solution to this problem is a hybrid method that combines the advantages of the rough set method and the FGP method, which is called the fuzzy grid partition rough set (FGPRS) method. In the Irish data, the rough set approach reduces the number of characteristics and objects so that data with excessive values can be minimized, and the fuzzy rules produced using the FGP method are more concise. The number of fuzzy rules produced using the FGPRS method at K=2 is 50%; at K=K+1, it is reduced by 66.7% and at K=2 K, it is reduced by 75%. Based on the findings of the data collection classification test, the FGPRS method has a classification accuracy rate of 83.33%, and all data can be classified.

Abstract

Traffic accidents caused by collisions with animals are a significant global concern for authorities. The economic impact is substantial, including costs for treating injuries, rehabilitating victims, repairing vehicle damage, and addressing fatalities. As a contribution towards finding a solution, a wireless sensor network (WSN) and an autonomous, power-efficient, and economically feasible drone are presented. WSN is responsible for acquiring relevant information from the farm and communicating the data to the aerial drone denoted as a hexacopter; which is functioning as a mobile roadside device for transferring the warning information to the passing drivers so as to avoid any collision with animals. The proposed system involves the design of a lightweight camel-based sub-system to trigger drones for monitoring herds, a drone-based sub-system for tracking and ensuring safety in agricultural areas, and a vehicle-based sub-system to communicate collision warnings where an alarming protocol has been developed. The whole system has been designed, implemented, tested, and verified in an actual flight test. Experimental results indicate that the system has a unique capability. It can mitigate the number of accidents involving vehicles and animals, especially camels, and thus reduce the economic cost of damages associated with the problem.

Abstract

This paper includes a computer simulation of switching transient overvoltages during the disconnecting of shunt reactors (SR). Based on the results of the transient simulations, two reactors (150 MVAr and 50 MVAr) were examined. Reactor current interruption causes significant overvoltages, especially across the reactor and the circuit breaker (CB). The severity of these overvoltages may surpass the voltage level, which might endanger the reactor’s insulation and accelerate the CBs ageing process. For this reason, a significantly modified circuit model is proposed. The results of the field testing showed that the proposed modified circuit technique was successful. The transient overvoltages were computed using ATP-draw simulations of the equivalent circuit during switching. Successful synchronous switching could decrease the electromagnetic and mechanical stress generated during frequent switching operations. The model was examined the switching transient overvoltage for different values of current chopping (0-20) A. The proposed model proved that the reduction of the overvoltage was 86% in case of (50 MVAr) shunt reactor rating and 87% in case of (150 MVAr) shunt reactor rating.
