Journal of Educational, Health and Community Psychology
Journal of Educational, Health, and Community Psychology (JEHCP) published an article, and empirical study that have originality, novelty and fill the gap of knowledge, that focused on educational psychology, health psychology and community psychology. JEHCP is an open access peer reviewed, multidisciplinary journal that publishes quality studies related to psychology. JEHCP is interdisciplinary in approach, and includes to reports of qualitative case studies, quantitative experiments and surveys, mixed method studies, action researches, meta-analyses, and discussions of conceptual and methodological issues. The field of educational psychology includes the effectiveness of educational interventions, the psychology of teaching, and the social psychology of schools as organizations, motor skills and other psycho-physiological processes; cognitive development involving areas such as problem solving, language acquisition; social, personality, and emotional development; self-concept and identity formation. The field of Health Psychology includes the stress-related ilnesses, the health coping strategy, resiliency, work on health attitudes and behaviour, health locus of control, quality of life in chronic disease, influence of emotion on health and health-related behaviours, psychological interventions in health and disease as well as psychological aspects of prevention. The field of Community Psychology includes research, evaluation, assessment and intervention, and review articles that deal with human behavior in community settings. Articles of interest include descriptions and evaluations of service programs and projects, studies of youth, parenting, and family development, methodology and design for work in the community, the interaction of groups in the larger community, and criminals and corrections.

Abstract In recent decade, there has been an increasing rate of international students all over the world, but little is known about the marital life of this population. The need to understand graduate studentsâ intentions to pursue an academic career has become more important over the years. While International studentsâ cross-cultural adjustment has received considerable attention in the sojourner literature, there is a paucity of research that addresses the unique challenges faced by the married international students. Therefore, this study attempts to examine the empirical findings of various studies that explore factors which contribute to problems of married international students, and have an integrated perspective on the problems that this population faces during their study. The results revealed that acculturation stress, financial stress and social support are the utmost problems that international couples experience. This study offers suggestions for universities to provide facilities that would decrease international studentsâ marital problems; also to prepare workshops to increase couplesâ knowledge of different conflict resolution methods which would be helpful to avoid conflict during their study abroad. Keywords: marital relationship, international students, socio cultural adjustment, academic problem

Abstract The current study was intended to examine the association between personality factors and job satisfaction among academic staff. The job satisfaction assumed as an essential factor in educational organizations spatially university that influenced by various factors. Moreover, distinguishing these effective factors is very important and lack of consideration to this inner feeling leads to several abnormal organizational behaviors at university. Therefore, this study focused on the association between these two factors at university. A cross-sectional examination design was applied with purposive selected sample that taken from academic staff (N=440) of public research universities in Klang Valley, Malaysia. In present study, the participants completed the job descriptive index inventory and the big five personality test which explained their personality factors and their relation with job satisfaction. It is concluded that neuroticism as one of the main personality factors predicts job satisfaction and there is negative relationship between neuroticism and job satisfaction and also there are positive relationships between agreeableness, consciousness and openness with job satisfaction that analyzed by correlation coefficient and regression analysis test. Key word: personality factors, job satisfaction, academic staff, university

AbstractOne of the great positive behavioral factors among staff at university is emotional intelligence. In reality, emotional intelligence is cause of different reaction at workplace that was appeared by staff and also controlled most of moods in various situations. Moreover, knowing factors that impact on emotional intelligence is very vital and lead to different positive and negative behavior among staff. Reward is one of these external effective factors that influence on emotional intelligence. Present study considered to these two factors and also investigates their association together. The sample of this study made up of 440 academic staff that work in public research universities in Malaysia. The participants completed the emotional intelligence scale. The results indicated that there are significant associations between reward with emotional intelligence items (perception and managing own emotion) that analyzed by t-test.Key word: reward, emotional intelligence, staff, university

AbstractThe aim of present literature review paper is to identify vital role of income on the amount of job satisfaction and residential satisfaction. The findings of this study express that these two inner feeling factors have fundamental role on individualâs life. In addition, this study focused on value of income and its effect on job satisfaction and residential satisfaction. Moreover, low levels of income leads to various difficulties such as low level of job satisfaction and decrease of residential satisfaction among individuals and threaten their behaviors and reactions at work. Abstract Current researches on internationalization claim âstudying overseasâ as a set of potential that assist the augmentation of âglobalizationâ. This article presents the Multicultural Benefits and challenges for International Students during Period of their Study in university Putra Malaysia. Qualitative method and convenience sampling was applied. Semi-structured interview and in depth interviews were conducted on 20 postgraduate students from various fields of study. The result of study showed that the benefits and challenges faced by the international post-graduate students can classify into distinct categories. Studying overseas offers benefits and plus points in terms of Career perspective, cultural familiarity, self-development. The challenges included problems related to facilities, social environment, education system, financial problem and international office programs. The comments made by the students could be considered by the university authorities for improvement in quality of education for international students during their studies.Keywords: International post-graduate students, challenges and benefits, qualitative method.
