Abstract

Background: Sausage was a snack with raw meat, crushed meat preserved by salting. Nitrateand nitrite salt is one of the preservatives used in meat preservation process to obtain goodcolor and prevent microbial growth. Nitrite as a preservative permitted its use, but keep in mindits use in food in order not to exceed the limits, so it does not negatively impact human health.Permenkes Republic of. 1168/Menkes/Per/X/1999 about food additives limit the maximum useof the preservative nitrite in processed meat product that is equal to 125 mg / kg. Excessiveconsumption of nitrite can cause harm to the wearer, whether they are direct, ie poisoning, orwho are indirect, ie nitrites are carcinogenic. The purpose of this study to determine the contentof nitrite in sausages at sausage distributor in the city of Yogyakarta in 2011.Method: The study was descriptive research laboratory test. The object of this study were 5brand sausage sausage found in a different distributor. Nitrite content analysis conducted by twostages of testing, the test qualitative and quantitative test. Qualitative test performed todetermine whether there is content of nitrite in sausages by using reagents sulfanilat acid-?-naftilamina, while the quantitative tests conducted to determine the levels of nitrite contained inthe sausage with a spectrophotometer. Data analysis results of research done descriptively andare presented in table and narrative.Results: The study of five brands of sausage on the distributor in the city of Yogyakarta showsthat all brands of sausage samples containing nitrite with nitrite levels varied.Conclusion: Of the 5 brands of sausage samples studied, the results showed that one samplehad higher levels of nitrite that does not meet the requirements under Decree No. Permenkes.1168/Menkes/Per/X/1999, namely the brand sausage sample E with higher levels of nitrite of211.294 mg / kg.Keywords: Analysis, sausage, nitrite

Abstract

Background : Various human activities will generate waste. Trash can pollute the environmentand as home to a wide range of diseases that can reduce the degree of human health, so thatthe waste be managed properly. Sukunan village was already implementing community-basedintegrated waste processing were independent and productive, clean and beautiful environmentthat involves all citizens in the implementation. The kitchen garbage management in thesukunan village is included in the composter to be composted with the results of liquid bybacterial degradation of organic material in the form of leachate. Leachate by the communitySukunan village used for liquid fertilizer plant and sold. The purpose of this study determined thegenus of aerobic bacteria in the leachate of kitchen garbage result in Sukunan village.Method : This research type was the descriptive research with laboratory test. The sample inthis study was leachate of Sukunan village kitchen garbage result. The study was conducted intwo places, in the Public Health Laboratory of Ahmad Dahlan University and in the YogyakartaHealth Laboratory Central. The results of data analysis was described in descriptive studies andpresented in tabular and narrative.Results : Identification of aerobic bacteria was carried in the Public Health Laboratory of theAhmad Dahlan University get the bacteria that approached the characteristics of the genusPseudomonas, Bacillus, and Escherichia / Salmonella / Aeromonas / Chromobacterium, whilethe results of identification carried out in the Health Laboratory Central in Yogyakarta got thebacterial genus such as Streptococcus (species : Enterococcus faecalis), Escherichia (species:Escherichia coli), Pseudomonas (species: Pseudomonas putrifaciens) and Proteus (species:Proteus vulgaris).Conclusion : There has aerob bacteria in the leachate of kitchen garbage results in theSukunan Village, Yogyakarta.Keywords : Aerobic Bacteria, Leachate

Abstract

Background :Nutrition education is very important given since entering primary school for chil-dren have good nutrition knowledge level. The level of nutrition knowledge a person will influ-ence the attitudes and behavior in selecting foods that will ultimately affect the nutritional state of the individual concerned. Nutrition pocket book is one of the methods of health education in the form of print media that can provide information about nutrition and to increase nutrition knowledge in children, with increased knowledge of nutrition is expected to prevent diseases caused by malnutrition. This study aims to determine the effect of nutrition on the pocket book on child nutrition knowledge level of grade 5 elementary school Muhammadiyah Dadapan Vil-lage District Wonokerto Turi Sleman Yogyakarta Method: Type of research is quasi Exsperiment with pre test and post test one group design. The samples were grade 5 students Muhammadiyah Dadapan Village Elementary School Dis-trict Wonokerto Turi Sleman Yogyakarta, which numbered 30 students, using primary data. Measurement of knowledge conducted using questionnaires before and after the pocket book. Data analysis using Paired Sample T-Test Results: There is increased knowledge about nutrition in children 5th grade elementary school Muhammadiyah Dadapan Village District Wonokerto Turi Sleman Yogyakarta with an average value, it is known that the mean value before it is given a pocket book and the mean is given after each pocket book for 71.33 and 91.07. Mean shows the average difference before and after the administration of a paperback book. Significant value Sig (2-tailed) (0.000) <0025 and 95% Confidence interval -22.820 <1> -16.646 (does not include item 1). The probability or pos-sibility of true hypotheses is small so Ho is rejected, it states that there is a difference of mean between before and after given a pocket book, pocket book on nutrition so that gives the effect of nutrition knowledge of elementary school children grades 5 Muhammadiyah Dadapan Wonokerto In the village of Turi Sleman District, Yogyakarta. Conclusion: The Pocket Book of Nutrition have a significant influence on the increased knowl-edge of nutrition in children 5th grade elementary school Muhammadiyah Village Dadapan Wonokerto Turi Sleman District, Yogyakarta. Abstract

Background : Parents are the first and best teachers in the process of the human being’s behavior, parenting if properly understood by parents so children grow and develop into a good figure but if the parent’s upbringing of children is wrong will impact on bad boy behavior. In the village Dufa-dufa Northern Distict of Ternate in North Maluku LPA survey Januari-Desember 2008 cases of child violence in the form violence physical (70 cases), sexual violence (3 cases), psychological violence (76 cases), economic exploitation/child labor (17 cases), sexual exploitation of children (1 cases), the child victims of conflict areas (15 cases), sexual abuse (4 cases), neglect of children (20 cases), murder (3 cases), the care and guardianship (12 cases). Purpose of this research is to determine whether there is a relationship parenting and violence against children at school age (6-18 years) in Dufa-dufa village Ternate northern districts. Methods: This study was a quantitative non experimental by using cross-sectional design in data collection, research using the questionnaire ad a data collection instrument, respondents in this study were parents who have children of school age, the number of 187 samples sample. Results: From the results of the statistic is obtained asymp sig number 0,000. Results of these tests showed P < ? (0,000 < 0,05) so that H0 is reject can in inflict that there was a significant association between parenting style and the incidents of violence against children, because the amount of views from C (coefficient contingency) is 28,8 percent for the contributed to variable parenting parents while the rest of the other variables not examined in this study Conclusion:  There was a significant relationship between parenting style and the incidents of violence against children in Dufa-dufa village Ternate Northern districts. Abstract

Background : Aim of the research was to acknowledge the effect of neonatal baby weight, age of birth giving, breast milk feeding on neonatal baby’s health status. Methode : The research design was a cross sectional study, with interview method and homevisit of 160 respondents. Samples were withdrawn with simple random sampling method. Data was analyzed with simple linier regression test, continued with multiple linier regression test. Results : Results of the research indicated that the weight of neonatal baby, the age of birth giving mother, age of pregnancy, and breast milk feeding have influences on the neonatal baby’s health status. Of the four variables, two of them were observed to have dominant influences of the baby health status in neoantal period in Siti Fatimah RSKDIA Makassar, i.e (?) 0.374 p=0,000 (37.4%) and mother breast feeding (?) 0.306 p=0.000 (30.6%). Abstract

Background : Peoples habits in disposing waste by burning leaves or plastic waste has negative effect on health and also cause pollution. This is due to the lack of public knowledge in the processing of waste and the impact of the waste itself. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes towards the behavior of the community in managing the daily garbage and waste management know that has been applied in the hamlet of Hamlet Village Sidokarto Godean Sleman district of Yogyakarta. Method : The study was an observational analytic cross sectional design. Sampling technique used was random sampling. The data was collected using questionnaires, with a total sample of 77 households. Analysis of data was using univariate and bivariate analysis with statistical test Fishers Exact Test. Results : The statistical result of the study, showed that as many as six heads of families or at (7.8%) had a level of knowledge that is not good in terms of waste management, and as many as 71 heads of households (respondent) or amount (92.2%) had a level of knowledge both in terms of waste manage-ment, while 7 households (respondent) or equivalent (9.1%) had a bad attitude in the process waste, and as many as 70 heads of households (respondent) or amount (90.9%) had a good attitude in process waste. Bivariate analysis to the level of knowledge on the behavior of the Hamlet Hamlet Village Si-dokarto Godean Sleman district of Yogyakarta in 2012 to process waste that is derived p <0.05 (p = 0.429) and RP = 1.246 (95% CI: 0.680 to 2.283). While the bivariate analysis for the behavioral attitude towards Hamlet Hamlet Village Sidokarto Godean Sleman district of Yogyakarta in 2012 to process waste that is derived p <0.05 (p = 0.088) and RP = 1.667 (95% CI: 1.141 to 2.434). Conclusion : There was no relationship between the level of knowledge of the behavior of people in the process waste in Hamlet Hamlet Village Sidokarto Godean Sleman district of Yogyakarta in 2012, and there is no relationship between attitude and behavior of people in the process waste in Hamlet Hamlet Village Sidokarto Godean Sleman district of Yogyakarta in 2012. Abstract

Background: Some industries know in Orchard of direct Klero Sleman Yogyakarta throw away the liquid waste to river  Gawe  without done a processing beforehand, so that cause the river water becomes the impure. Others, there are sigh from society of around industry know that is incidence of smelling, so that society which live in about industry know to become annoyed. This Research aim to know influence of variation of biomassa Pistia stratiotes L. to degradation rate of BOD, COD, and TSS liquid waste know at Orchard of Klero Sleman Yogyakarta. Processing of liquid waste by exploiting Pistia stratiotes L. expected can lessen compound rate of impure toxic compound and also consisting is in underwater of waste.Method:  this was pure experimental research using complete random device. Involved in variable was variation of biomassa Pistia stratiotes L. as independent variable. Rate of  Biologycal Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and Total Suspended Solid (TSS) as dependent variable. Research executed in Countryside of Pereng Sumberharjo Yogyakarta. Measurement of parameter BOD, COD, and TSS conducted in Laboratory Hall Technique Health of Environment (BTKL) Bantul. Sample for this research was liquid waste know in Orchard of Klero Sleman Yogyakarta. Result of research analyzed to use test of ANOVA and test of BNT (Least Significant Different).Result: Result of analysis influence variation of biomassa Pistia stratiotes L. to degradation of rate BOD, COD, and TSS use test of ANOVA show value equal to 2966,67, 8836,57, 1337,33 with level of significance equal to 0,000 (p<0,05) which indication that variation excelsior of biomassa  Pistia stratiotes L. hence excelsior also degradation of rate of BOD, COD, and TSS.Conclusion: There was influences which significant between variation of biomassa Pistia stratiotes L. to degradation of rate of BOD, COD, and TSS liquid waste know in Orchard of  Klero Sleman Yogyakarta. Keywords: Biomassa, Pistia Stratiotes L., BOD, COD, and TSS Liquid Wast, Soybean cake

Abstract

Background: Public places such as public baths and swimming pools are used as a gathering place by many people have potency to be a medium of disease transmission. Direct contact among visitors can transmit disease germs from one to the other visitors. Moreover, the contact can be a deployment medium of a disease. This study aimed to determine the relationship between chlorine residue with the complaints of skin and eye irritations of swimmingpool users in Yogyakarta hotels. Methods: The research was an observational analytic study by using cross sectional design. Sampling of the research uses systematic random sampling and consists of 48 respondents. Research tools used are questionnaires and laboratory tests. Data analysis uses univariate and bivariate analysis with a statistical test ChiSquare (X2). Results: Results of the study showed that 28 respondents (58.3%) have complaints and 20 respondents (41.7%) do not have complaints. From six water samples taken from swimming pool, 4 samples (66.7%) do not qualify and 2 samples (33.3%) are eligible. Bivariate analysis found that there was a significant relationship between chlorine residue with the complaints of skin and eye irritations of swimming pool users in Yogyakarta hotels (p = 0.038) smaller than alpha (? = 0.05), RP = 1,83.                                                                                             Conclusion: There was a relationship between residual chlorine with the complaints of skin and eye irritations of swimming pool users in Yogyakarta hotels.   Keywords: Chlorine Residue, Skin and eye irritation complaints, Swimming Pool

Abstract

Background: Glaucoma is characterized by significantly increase in eye pressure that can lead to order eye diseases including part or total blindness. Glaukoma is still the main eye health problem in Indonesia and Yogyakarta Special Teritory. Glaukoma causes permanen blindness. Based on data from medical records of glaucoma patients who seek treatment at hospital outpatient Eye Dr. Yap Yogyakarta in 2009 amounted to 1302 souls, while in the January to May 2010 amounted to 510 souls. This study aims to determine what factors are associated with the incidence of glaucoma in eye hospital Dr. Yap Yogyakarta.Methods: This was observational analytic study using case control design (case control) with a ratio of 1:2. Technique of sampling using the Non-Random Sampling, with purposive sampling approach, with a total sample of 105 respondents consisting of 35 cases and 70 controls, data collected by interview with questionnaire guidelines.Results: test results showed that three variables are not statistically significant and the two variables are statistically significant history of diabetes mellitus (OR = 0.624, p = 0.442, CI 95% = 0.185 to 2.097), history of hypertension (OR = 6.401, p-0, 000, 95% CI = 2.441 to 16.784), eye trauma (OR = 1.130, p = 0.839, CI 95% = 0.348 to 3.666), complication of eye surgery (OR = 3.463, p = 0.004, 95% CI  - 1.444 to 8.306), and the use of corticosteroid drugs (OR-1, 130, p = 0.839, CI 95% = 0.348 to 3.666). Results of multivariat test surgery showed that the most dominant variables on the incidence of glaucoma in eye hospital Dr. Yap Yogyakarta is a history of hypertension with Sig = 0.001 Exp [3 = 5.675 (95% CI:2.105 to 15.301).Conclusion:  There was two variables that is statistically significant, history of hypertension and complications of eye surgery. The most dominant variable with the incidence of glaucoma was a history of hypertension. Keywords: Glaucoma, Complications, Corticosteroids.

Abstract

Background: The spread of Pb to humans could cause many negative effects to health such as cardiovasculer system, hypertension and carsinogenic. The change of society pattern from agrarian to industry and life style, community social economic became was one of the things that cause the increasing of un infected prevalence, that was hypertension. The average of hypertension prevalence in Indonesia around 8,3 percent. Low concentrate of Pb inside blood (3-5 µg/dl) had cause effect to blood pressure and Pb also took act in hypertension patolgy. The air pollution in Yogyakarta city alraedy reach the normal standar of air quallity. One of the area with high air pollution was Public Refueling Station (SPBU). The operator employee has high risk to conteminate by dangerous chemical substances especially plumbum by gasoline and motor vehicle gas emission that waiting queue refuelingor vehivle that depart after refueling. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of Pb concentrate inside blood with hypertension incident to SPBU operator in Yogyakarta city. Method : This was observational analytic using cross sectional approach with quantitative method. Sample of this study was operator in four SPBU Yogyakarta city amount 25 people. To analyzed Pb concentrate inside blood used spectrophotometry with AAS method, the measuring of blood pressure used mercury sphygmomanometer and respondent characteristic used interview orientation. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate. Result : There was significant relationship between Pb concentrate in blood with hypertension incident to SPBU operator Yogyakarta city with signicancy value (p) amount 0,028 p=0,028 < ?=0,05, the risk seen by RR value = 2,619 (95% CI:0,944-7,625) ; so Ho which mention there was no relationship between Pb concentrate inside blood with hypertension incident to SPBU operator “rejected”. Ha which mention there was relationship between Pb concentrate inside blood with hypertension incident to SPBU operator “accepted”. Conclusion : Pb concentrate inside blood had significant relationship with hypertension incident to SPBU operator Yogyakarta city.
