Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aimed to determine the relationship between interpersonal communication and career development with job satisfaction. Subjects were all employees of Malioboro Inn Hotel Yogyakarta. This study used quantitative methods. Data collection tool that was used is the Interpersonal Communication Scale, Scale of Career Development and Job Satisfaction Scale. The statistical analysis that was used is multiple regression analysis. The overall computational research data using SPSS 18.0 for windows. The analysis by using multiple regression  found significant relationship between interpersonal communication and career development with job satisfaction (R = 0.618, p = 0.000). The results of the analysis of product moment between interpersonal communication with job satisfaction showed r = 0.513 with a significance level (p) = 0.001 (p <0.01) and between career development with job satisfaction showed r = 0.415 with a significance level of 0.007 (p <0.01 ). Contribution of interpersonal communication on job satisfaction was 23.76%, while the effective contribution of career development to job satisfaction was 14.44%, and the effective contribution of interpersonal communication and career development on job satisfaction was 38.2%. There was a significant relationship between interpersonal communication and career development with job satisfaction. The majority of research subjects have job satisfaction, communication, interpersonal and career development in the medium category. Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to know the impact of coping that are used as well as coping with being used. The research method used was qualitative research with the phenomenology of approach. The subject in this study are two people who have experienced mother baby blues syndrome. The techniques of data collection in this research conducted a structure interview session. The results showed that  mother who experienced baby blues syndrome used problem focused coping. Problem focused coping includes problem solving planfull, information seeking, seeking assistance, and direct action. They also ever used the emotional focused coping included self critism, and positive reappraisal. The benefits of using coping strategy is make the subject become more understanding about her mood swings condition after delivery, as well as achieved more knowledge about their condition. Keywords: Coping, Baby Blues Syndrome

Abstract

Abstract This research is aimed to know the correlation between works safety and works spirit. Research subject is production employee at CV. Cahaya Timur Offset Yogyakarta. Method research in this study is use quantitative approach by using simple random sampling. Data collection tools in this study used works safety scale and works spirit scale. Methods of data analysis in this study used product moment correlation analysis techniques. The result of this research showed a significant correlation with rxy = 0,585 and p = 0,000 (p < 0.01). Effective amount donation given by works safety variable to works spirit variables was 34,2%. The result showed that there is significant positive correlation between works safety and works spirit of production employee at CV. Cahaya Timur Offset Yogyakarta. Hypothesis is accepted and showed that the higher works safety the higher works spirits and the opposite that the lower safety works, the lower also works spirits. Implementation of safety is on the medium level and the majority of subjects had a high work spirit in the high category. Key words : works safety, works spirit.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research is to study the reason why the worker commits to the company organization and to study the factors influencing organization commitment to the workers of Miracle Aesthetic Clinic. This research is done in area M.H THAMRIN Street No. 40, Dr. Sutomo District, Tegal Sari, Surabaya. The subjects of this study are the workers of Miracle Aesthetic Clinic who have worked here for a long time. The method of this research is qualitative using strategy of inquiry phenomenology, which is oriented to study the phenomena happened by studying the subject perseption. The data is collected by interviewing the close mate of the subject as triangulation. The researcher used theme analysis to analyze the data. The result of this study, which is done in one of beauty clinic in Surabaya, showed that the respondents have high commitment and still choose to stay at Miracle Aesthetic Clinic, because Miracle always give the best things to its workers. Some factors influencing the good commitment of workers, as suitable with Minner theory, is harmonic relationship between workers and with their board, their dreams when joining the Miracle Aesthetic Clinic, and their experiences felt since first joining and during working time. Besides that, the researcher found new factors unmatched with the theory, which were the high support from family and their proud to join the Miracle Aesthetic Clinic. Keyword: Commitment Organization

Abstract

ABSTRACTParents who have children with mental retardation will definitely experience a variety of different challenges compared with parents who have normal children. Various sources of their stress is different with parents in general. This study aims is to find out what the source of stress and coping resources of parents. How can parents deal with coping existing sources of stress. The research method that was used is a qualitative research approach case study. Subjects were two parents of different character and backgrounds, but both have a mentally retarded child. The first subject is A who have several children. The second subject is B a single parent mother who lives alone with the only her child mental retardation. Data was collected by semi-structured interviews and nonparticipant observation. Results showed that the sources of stress of parent comes from the internal factors and external factors. The sources of coping that was used by parent can be broken down into five aspects such as social support, values and beliefs, control self-confidence, and self esteem. Effort coping strategies used include planning problem solving, positive assessment, distancing, self-control, seeking social support, and accept responsibility. Keywords: Stress, coping, parents with mentally retarded children.

Abstract

ABSTRACTForgiving is an act of manifestation and valuable personal assets to resolve conflicts or problems among adolescences. Develop a forgiving behavior can bring many benefits for teens, providing both mental and physical health, improved relationships with others, pay attention to the well-being of others and is a form of moral action. The objective of study was to examine the psychological aspects of forgiving behavior in adolescents broken home and the factors that influence forgiving behavior in broken home adolescences.This study used a qualitative approach with case study method. Data was collected by using interviews and observations technique on sampling criteria that have adolescents aged 17-22 years with a broken home.The results showed the psychological aspects that occur on the subject is, the cognitive subject to forgive without any sense of revenge in our hearts, forgive affectively with compassion but not with forced.  The factors that influence forgiving behavior in adolescence broken home is building a good relationship with others after conflicted. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the relationship between perceptions of organizational climate with career planning on the teacher. Subjects that was used in this study are 62 teachers from senior high school Sewon. The scale of organizational climate and career planning scale was used to collect the data. The method of data analysis in this study  used Pearson product moment correlation with SPSS 15 for windows sofware. The results of the data analysis found that the correlation between the organizational climate with career planning is significant with rxy = 0.471 and p = 0.007. R squared values between the organizational climate and career planning is 0.222 or 22.2%. This may implied that the variables can explain the variable Organizational Climate Career Planning of 22.2% while the rest (77.8%) is explained by other variables. Level of organizational climate perception among the teachers is at high category (54.84%) and the majority of career planning is in high category too (51.61%). Based on the research result it can be concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between perceptions of organizational climate with career planning on the teacher, which means that the higher the perception of the organizational climate, the higher the teacher´s career planning. Keywords: perception of organizational climate, career planning

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims is to examine the effectiveness of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) for reducing college smoking behavior. Subjects in this study were students in one of universities in Yogyakarta. The subjects of the study were 22 people consisting of 10 people in Experimental Group and 12 people of Control Group. Criteria for the subject is currently still smoking, willing to follow SEFT  and willingness to fill out the inform consent and not being in therapy or other programs related to smoking. Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique was used as intervention model. This research used analysis Mann-Whitney Test and Wicolxon Test with a pretest post test control group design. The results of this study showed that there is a significant reduction of students’ smoking behavior that are given SEFT. The conclusion of this study is SEFT  intervention can decrease students’ smoking behavior. Keywords: college, smoking behavior, spiritual emotional freedom technique (SEFT).
