Abstract

The energy satisfaction that consumers can obtain from the central grid solely depends on how reliable the feeder to which such customers are connected, simply because the reliability of both generation and transmission is not enough to guarantee adequate and secure energy delivery. It is on this premise that this paper employed load point reliability indices to assess selected feeders within the Ibadan electricity distribution network. The required data for this analysis was collected from the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, at Ring Road, Ibadan, the collected data captured the total number of faults, total fault duration, and total operating time from 2016 to 2019. The load point reliability indices used as performance metrics include Failure Rate (FR), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Availability Factor (AVF), and Maintainability (M). An adequate comparison of each of these indices on each feeder was made for the period of investigation. It was discovered that many of these feeders were not reliable. Therefore, the need to carry out extensive maintenance on these feeders is non-negotiable. Also, the result of this analysis will help the Distribution Company (DisCo) to make informed decisions that will accelerate the reliability of these 11kV feeders across the investigated region.

Abstract

This paper presents a performance comparison of a single-phase AC to AC converter (cycloconverter) and a three-phase converter circuit which divides the input wave frequency (fin) into a variable frequency with the frequency value of the AC output voltage waveform (alternating current) (f, fin/2, fin/3, fin/4, fin/5, fin/6, fin/7, fin/8, fin/9, fin/10. Cycloconvertor switches are built using a diode and a thyristor device. This research was conducted by modeling each cycloconverter circuit using Matlab Simulink tools. Modeling simulation parameters to be analyzed include the output waveform RMS (root mean square) value, frequency value, and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) index for each wave. The output frequency voltage waveform of cycloconverter is affected by the variation of the trigger signal of the P-side (positive) converter and the N (negative) converter side switch. Simulation results show that adjusting the firing pulse width of the P converter and the N converter will produce an output voltage wave that has an index value of THD, Vrms, and form factor for each diode and thyristor cycloconverter circuit.

Abstract

Digital image processing in general to makes images that appear converted to a function of light intensity represented in a two-dimensional plane. The function is a value that will be processed for classification so that the computer is able to recognize the image. Besides classification requires training and testing to produce a small error value and optimal algorithm. The problem of optimization is closely related to the principles and findings of science. Getting the smallest error value by calculating using MAPE for that MAPE calculation is done by using the Detection Rate formula to generalize knowledge in order to find the optimal model. Thus, the application of ANN is very suitable for optimizing classification using the Simple Evolving Connectionist System Method and as the result, the classification of images containing protein with test data is that the eggs work with optimal proof of achieving MAPE without modification of 0.1947% and MAPE which has been modified with the formula detection rate of 0.05554633%.

Abstract

A security vulnerability exists in unsupported systems, and using applications supported by their maintainer help to reduce attacks based on such vulnerabilities. However, website administrators may ignore this exercise due to various reasons. This research measures the top 1,500 websites in Indonesia on how much of them are using supported applications to prevent such attacks, based on the application version number. The measurement is performed automatically using the Wappalyzer tool. From such measurement, we found that most of the applications detected do not contain version information (70%) or invalid version number (11%). We also found that more than half of the websites measured contain at least one unsupported application. In terms of the applications used, we found that many Nginx users worryingly do not keep their server version updated, while Apache and WordPress did a good job in keeping their users using the most recent version. This study highlights the need for website administrators to have their applications up to date to the supported versions, as well as for application developers to promote application updates to their users.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to create a laboratory equipment inventory system. With this system, users, namely lecturers, lab assistants, and final project students, can find out the borrower's data, borrowing time, return time, and the tool availability status. The research method used is experimental. This system is based on IoT technology. The main brain from the hardware side uses the NodeMCU ESP8266. NodeMCU, apart from being a controller, can also function as a WiFi module. On the server-side, PHP and MySQL are used. When the user wants to borrow a tool, the user can use an RFID tag to open the cupboard. Furthermore, the NodeMCU will continue to scan for the presence of items in the cupboard using a radio frequency with RF433MHz. This information is sent to the server when the cupboard is closed and locked automatically. The server will receive the information and decipher the information. As a result, the testing process in this study proved that the system has been able to detect the presence of items in the cupboard and track anyone who borrows laboratory equipment with a 100% success percentage.

Abstract

There were many diseases caused by viruses or bacteria. the virus or bacteria can mutate so that they could result the new disease. Sequence alignment was important so that it could be used to research genetic diseases and epidemics. In this reseach, we took case study of dengue virus and zika virus. To see the similarity between original virus and the mutation virus, it wass required the alignment process of two virus sequences. The method used for aligning two virus sequences was Super Pairwise Alignment (SPA). Due to the similarity value depended on SPA parameters, in this research we would apply heuristic method, such as Bat Algorithm (BA) algorithm to optimize SPA parameters maximizing similarity value as objective function. BA was the optimization method which was inspired by the behavior of bats in using sonar called echolocation to detect prey, avoid obstacles. From the BA simulations, we could obtain optimal SPA parameters resulting maximum similarity value between two aligned each of dengue virus and zika virus protein sequences in approaching.

Abstract

The increase in positive cases of COVID-19 makes it grave to monitor the level of oxygen saturation in the blood (SPO2) of COVID-19 patients. The purpose is to prevent silent hypoxia, which lowers oxygen levels in the blood without symptoms. In general, a conventional pulse oximeter is a clip that is clamped on a finger to measure SPO2 levels and heart rate per minute (HR). This research aims to design a compact pulse oximeter monitoring bracelet. The main components of the pulse oximeter monitoring bracelet are the Seeeduino XIAO microcontroller, MAX30100 sensor, and OLED display. The method of collecting data on ten people using a conventional pulse oximeter and prototype device to measure SPO2 and HR levels the interval 30 seconds were a taken measurement. The results show that the Pearson correlation value for SPO2 and HR are -0.73 and 0.98, respectively. These results demonstrated that there is a strong relationship between variables and sufficient linearity. In addition, a pulse oximeter monitoring bracelet is easy to use and low-costs, which makes it an attractive option for the successful implementation of such monitoring SPO2 and HR of COVID-19 patients.
