Abstract

Mendengarkan adalah salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki  oleh  siswa.  Banyak  siswa  yang  sangat  kurang  dalam kemampuan mendengarkan. Mereka mendengarkan sambil memikirkan sesuatu hal lain. Selain itu mereka membuat kesimpulan sendiri menurut sudut pandang mereka tanpa mendengarkan keseluruhan percakapan dengan teliti. Mendengarkan secara aktif merupakan salah satu teknik mendengarkan dan merespon dengan tepat disertai dengan pemahaman yang penuh tentang topik yang dibicarakan. Mendengarkan secara aktif merupakan bentuk  mendengarkan yang telah terstruktur dan pemberian respon yang berfokus pada pembicara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah perbedaan yang signifikan  antara  siswa  yang  diajar menggunakan teknik mendengarkan secara aktif dengan  siswa yang diajar dengan teknik mendengarkan konvensional. Penulis menggunakan  teknik  analisa  komparatif  Charles  Spearman untuk mengukur hasil tes mendengarkan kedua kelompok siswa tersebut. Setelah melaksanakan   penelitian,  penulis menyimpulkan bahwa teknik mendengarkan secara aktif terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mendengarkan siswa.  Ini terbukti dengan nilai Tata-rata mendengarkan siswa di kelompok eksperimen meningkat dari 34,75 (pre-test) menjadi 68, 15 (post-test). Dengan teknik  mendengarkan secara aktif,  s1swa dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mendengarkan mereka. Key word: Listening, Listening  Comprehensior,, Active Listening Technique

Abstract

Banyumas is one of the Javanese dialect which is used by the society lived in the west part of Central Java. It is different from standard Java language that mainly used in Solo and Yogyakarta. Dialectical differences can be explained by  wave  theory,  that  language development can spread in waves, so there are innovative and conservative areas. This means that the areas which are close with the center of culture and the one that become the center of linguistics will have more similarities of language variety than those ones farer. It concerns with the growth of Banyumas dialect used by the society is not affected by the development of Standard dialect of Javanese. Keywords : Banyumas dialect, standard Java language, and the wave theory.

Abstract

This article attempts to find out the processes and development of first language Acquisition. The processes are started from the first day children are born. Because of the existence  of  a  device  called Language Acquisition Device (LAD) the children are able to undergo several stages before they eventually  arrive  to  a  position  which enables them to master the first language. The stages are reflexive crying and vegetative sounds, cooing and laughter, vocal Play, reduplicated babbling, non-reduplicated babbling  and  expressive jargon. Abstract

Language is a tool Communication. Language has an important role as a. tool of communication. It is impossible for us to communicate without language. "Berbahasa Indonesialah dengan  Baik dan Benar" slogan has been announced by the government at 20 Mei 1998. The aim is of Indonesian language must be able to use as the standard of Indonesian Language. In order to be able to use standard Indonesian language we need to use it  carefully and accurately. Accuracy  in using  language  show quality  of using the language. The mistakes are usually accured when he or she doesnt have enough knowledge of the language rule. Abstract

Penelitian sastra bagi mahasiswa bahasa lnggris di fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan  nampaknya masih merupakan hal yang cukup rumit. Ada dua alasan utama yang dihadapi mahasiswa dalam penelitian sastra, pertama tidak tersedianya pedoman penelitian yang mudah difahami. Kedua, sulitnya menemuktm topic yang belum  banyak  dilakukan  dalam penelitian sebelumnya. Berawal dari dua  alasan  tersebut, penulis mencoba memberikan gambaran dengan memaparkan metode pengumpulan data melalui membaca  tertutup  dan analisis data.dengan beberapa teori analisis sastra yaitu: formalisme, strukturalisme, dekonstruksi dan kritik psikologi. Adapun contoh penerapan teori sastra tersebut diaplikasikan pada cerita dongeng yang sangat terkenal di dunia yaitu Cinderella dan Hamlet karya Shakespeare. Setelah memahami teori-teori sastra tersebut diharapkan siswa akan lebih tertarik untuk melaksanakan penelitian  sastra. Abstract

Textbook plays a very important role in supporting the process of learning-teaching English because it serves as sources of learning­ teaching activities and materials. As most teachers are not capable of producing good textbooks, they tend to rely on those available  on market. In selecting them, Cunnings worth offers brief and applicable guidelines which cover the notion of needs, uses, supports for learning and teaching processes. Finally, teachers need to make some modification to the selected textbooks to best suit to support the success of learning-teaching process.
