Abstract

The study was conducted to measure the effectiveness of using two tools of technical analysis, namely the Stochastic Oscillator and Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) in 10 stocks of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) in Indonesia Stock Exchange within three years, 2008, 2009, and of 2010. The conclusions are that in that year, the use of the Stochastic Oscillator generates signals true on average for every 47.1 times as many shares or 72.76% and false signals as much as 18.3 times, or 27.24%. The use of true MACD signal produced 14.10 times (61.81%), false signal 8.7 times (38.19%). These results indicate that the use of technical analysis tools that can provide a return on stocks JII. It was not statistically proven that the Stochastic Oscillator gives better results than the MACD, or vice versa. Furthermore, although these tools provide benefits, but not proven that these tools can provide abnormal returns for its users. This study also implies that the capital market in Indonesia, especially stocks that meet the criteria of Islamic stock market does not show any efficiency.Keywords: Jakarta Islamic Index (JII), Analisis teknikal, Stochastic Oscillator, Moving Average Convergence-Divergence (MACD).

Abstract

This study discusses the impact of trust and the acceptance of technology on consumer intention to purchase on line at www.kaskus.us. The focus of the study was to test whether privacy, security, trust, risk, perceived usefulness and ease of use influence student intention to purchase online. The sample taken are from Accounting Department Universitas Islam Indonesia students who purchase on line at the web site kaskus.us. The data were analyzed using multiple regression and SEM, then calculated with SmartPLS software. The results indicate that privacy and security have positive influence ontrust. Moreover, perceived usefulness and ease of use have positive and significant effect on interest in purchasing online. On the contrary trust have negative effect on the risk to buy online. Lastly, risk have negatively effect and not significant with the intention to purchase on line.Keywords:   security, privacy, trust, risk, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, intention, online purchase

Abstract

The relationship between organization and their customers is a critical issue when establishing a long-term relationship. It is not only in Business to Customer (B2C) relationship but also in Business to Business (B2B). To maintenance the long-term relationship, the organization must create a customer loyalty in the business. The importance and benefits of attracting and maintaining loyal customers has arisen because there is a general acceptance that profitability follows customer loyalty. The objective of this research is to increase the understanding of managing and maintaining the relationship between customer and supplier in B2B marketing. Furthermore, the result of this research is to give some recommendations to create a customer loyalty in B2B marketing practice. Qualitative analysis is used in this research since it is the appropriate method to meet our purpose. In order to accomplish this research, one company in mattress industry (PT. Dinamika Indonusa Prima) has been used as an object. Some indicators to evaluate the practice of B2B marketing are: purpose of exchange, nature of communication, managerial intent, managerial focus, managerial investment, and managerial level. The result of this study indicate that the practice of B2B Marketing has done in a good practice and organization must meet the customer need in order to maintain customers and create a customer’s loyalty.Keywords: Business to Business (B2B) marketing, maintaining customer, customer’s loyalty

Abstract

This study is a replication of research by Shook and Bratianu (2010). Variables that affect student intentions for entrepeneurship in this study are specific desirabilities, subjective norms, self-efficacy, perceived desirability and the perceived feasibility. Sampling was purposive sampling method. The number of samples of this study as much as 306 students. This study uses path analysis model with three channels equation. The result of path analysis in this study are as follows: 1) specifis desirabilities, subjective norms, and self-efficacy has positive and significant impact on entrepreneurial intentions, 2) perceived desirability of modifying the effect of specific desirabilities on intent entrepreneurship, 3) perceived feasibility to modify the effect of self-efficacy on entrepreneurship intentions. Desirabilities specific influence on entrepreneurial intentions became stronger after the mediation by the perceived desirability. Similarly, the influence of self-efficacy on entrepreneurial intentions became stronger after the mediation by the perceived feasibility. While the variables that have the most dominant influence in affecting entrepreneurial intentions are perceived desirability. The conclusion of this study is that the entrepreneurial intentions of students in assesment criteria very well. Therefore, entrepreneurship courses should be made as a compulsory subject for all courses.Keywords:     specific desirabilities, subjective norms, self-efficacy, perceived desirability and the perceived feasibility and entrepreneurship intentions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the disclosure impact on the cost of equity capital companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The population in this study were categorized LQ45 companies and is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the financial statements have been audited since 2006-2010, the number of samples was 182 companies. The statistical method used to test the hypothesis is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that: (1) investment opportunity set has positive and significant impact on disclosure (2) size has positive and significant impact on disclosure disclosure and significant negative effect on the cost of equity capital.Keywords: investment opportunity set, size, disclosure, cost of equity capital

Abstract

Indonesia has been developing Islamic Banking since 1992. As the biggest muslim population in the world, it is expected that Islamic bank will have a significant role in the whole national banking system. A number of regulations have been issued by government and Bank Indonesia to accelerate the growth of Islamic Banking. Two most influential Islamic organizations –Majelis Ulama Indonesia and Muhammadiyah- have also issued fatwa on the haramness of interest and interest based banking. The fact shows, however, that the growth of Islamic Banking is not as fast as expected. Although having above national growth rate, Islamic banking is still minority to the whole national banking system. For instance, in 2010 the asset proportion of Islamic banking is still less than 3 percent of national banking asset. The aim of this paper is to identify the problems and challenges of the growth of Islamic banking in Indonesia. More specific, a survey has been conducted to identify factors influencing society not to choose Islamic banking products. The result shows that most of society are conventionally rational. Religious aspects have nothing to do with choice decision. They did not choose Islamic banking products because of economic factors such as quality of services, pricing, banking technology, and office location. Abstract

This research resulted as the following (1) to examine the influence of leadership on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). This was proved that t statistics (t test) was obtained, got t-statistic 6,088 and error level probability (p-value) by 0,000; (2) to examine the influence of leadership on organizational partnership. This was proved in the coefficient significance test which resulted got t-statistic -1,265 and p-value 0,208, (3) to examine the influence of leadership on working satisfaction. This was proved in the coefficient significance test which resulted got t-statistic 9,024 and p-value 0,000, (4) to examine the influence of working satisfaction on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). This was proved in the coefficient significance test which resulted got t-statistic 1,247 and p-value 0,021, (5) to examine the influence of working satisfaction on organizational commitment. This was proved in the coefficient significance test which resulted got t-statistic 5,426 and p-value 0,000, (6) to examine the influence of organizational commitment on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). Abstract

The one which influences the price of telecommunication services is interconnection fee. In accordance with interconnection fee, the price determination depends on the types of competition. In symmetric competition and linear pricing, the price would be high because of the penchant of collusion and interconnection fee should be high. The opposite results occur when non linear pricing (two part tariff) is applied because all companies set the interconnection fee close to marginal cost. In asymmetric competition, the price tends to be low. However, the lowness of price caused by the application of predatory pricing by incumbent company and interconnection fee equals with marginal cost. After the entrants were expelled, the price will be higher. The government regulation toward interconnection fee could not be determined because it depends on the types of competition and the pricing linearity.Keywords: telecommunication, interconnection fee, competition, two part tariff

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of leadership style is instructive, consultative, participative, and delegative jointly or partially on work motivation and employee performance, determine the effect of motivation on performance as well as determine the effect of motivation as a intervening variable between leadership styles on employee performance PT . Jamsostek (Persero) in Yogyakarta. The population in this study are permanent employees of PT. Jamsostek (Persero) Branch of Yogyakarta is located in Jln. Urip Sumoharjo 106 which are 32 employees. While the sample in this study using a census method for a total sample of 32 employees. Analytical model used in this study is a simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results found partial simultaneous leadership style and instructive, consultative, participative, and delegative to the motivation of employees of PT. Social Security Branch of Yogyakarta, There is a positive influence of motivation on the performance of employees of PT. Social Security Branch of Yogyakarta, There is a simultaneous influence of leadership style and a partial instructive, consultative, participative, and delegative on the performance of employees of PT. Social Security Branch of Yogyakarta, and the most influential leadership style is positively instructive to work motivation, whereas the most influential consultative leadership style positively to the performance of employees of PT. Abstract

This research examines the effects of changes in income tax law in 2008 to the stock price and dividend policy. The law reduces the maximum boundaries of income taxe rate and devidend tax rate as well. The results show that investors respond positively to the announcement of changes in the tax rate on the date of the announcement and no information was leaked before the announcement. But investor reaction to the announcement somewhat exaggerated due to rising prices keep going until a few days later followed by a decline. There is a phenomenon of overreaction in the incident. This research also found that tax changes affect corporate dividend policy. The Company will pay a larger portion of dividends by the reduced tax rate.Keywords: The announcement of income tax law 2008, tax rate, stock price, dividend payout ratio
