Abstract

Wide access to formal finance for poor households through distribution of social assistance via electronic money (E-money) is believed to accelerate eradication of poverty. We would like to find out the beneficiaries response to this payment method. This aims of this study is to investigate the perception of beneficiaries towards distribution of social assistance through e-money. We surveyed 230 beneficiaries in Jakarta, Cirebon and Pasuruan. The result of research indicates that the perception of PKH beneficiaries related to the cost, benefits and security of e-money is relatively good. However, from the aspect of ease of use and the respondents’ desire to use e-money, the perception is quite low.

Abstract

The research aims to formulate strategies for improving the labor competencies in the bag industry in Kudus Regency. The data comprise business players, which will be analyzed using the Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis. The results reveal that the proper strategy for improving employment in the bag industry is growth and build strategy. Growth and development strategy are intensive actions undertaken through the development of labor competencies to improve the quality of output. It can be made with creating learning resources by designing methods and trainings refer to the Competency Based Training (CBT).

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of imported beef price, per capita income (GDP), and domestic beef price toward the volume of Indonesia's beef import within the period of 1998-2014 by using Error Correction Model (ECM) analysis method. Abstract

This paper examines the growth experience of Indonesia in the years before and after the Asian financial crisis. Particular attention is paid to the relationship between economic growth and petroleum sector’s total factor productivity (TFP). It finds the possibility that post-crisis Indonesian economic growth has ‘recoupled’ with petroleum sector’s TFP – fluctuations in petroleum TFP is directly correlated with fluctuations in economic growth. Further, although keeping Indonesia’s petroleum sector open to fair competition should be the prime policy, the fact regarding resource nationalism might need to be taken into account in designing the policy to develop the productivity of Indonesia’s petroleum sector.

Abstract

In this research, we try to estimate the relationship between health status and smoking behaviour on the labour wage in Indonesia. We investigate using Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) data and two-step Heckman correction to deal with sample selection bias. We found that there is significance relationships between all socioeconomic variables and wage both for smokers and non-smokers. The interesting thing is that the effect on wage is less for smokers than non-smokers.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the role of Tax Auditor in KPP Madya Surabaya. This study uses a case study by collecting the data from Directorate General of Taxation official sources, either in KPP Madya Surabaya, Regional Office of Directorate General of Taxation East Java I, as well as the Directorate of Potency, Compliance, and Revenue. Researcher also conducted interviews with 12 informants consisting of Tax Auditor, Account Representative, Head of Office, as well as officials from the Directorate of Inspection and Billing. There are discrepancies between the expectations of stakeholders and what being  understood/perceived and expected by the Tax Auditor in relation to the role that must be executed. This causes the Tax Auditor to experience a role ambiguity which disrupts the optimizing the implementation of the role. Things that still impede the implementation of the role of the Tax Auditor are: rejection of the Taxpayer; intervention both from inside and outside/difficult to implement the independence in appearance and independence in fact; both physically and psychologically threats; the unclear mutation policy; promotion criteria being implemented inconsistently; and databases that have not been accurate and reliable.
