Abstract

The aim of this research were to know the effect of bokashi that giving the best result to growth vegetative and production elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum). This research was designed by using Completely Random Design with single factor experiment thas is doses of bokashi (B), with the level of each doses, b0 = control (without bokashi), b1 = 10 ton ha -1, b2 = 20 ton ha -1 and b3 = 30 ton ha -1. The result showed that the applications bokashi giving the influences to the vegetative growth and production of elephant grass. Bokashi 30 ton ha-1 give the highest vegetative growth and production elephant grass.

Abstract

This research was aimed to analyze the structure of zooplankton community; also to show the relationship of water quality in Hanjalutung Lake based on kinds of vegetation cover. The benefits of this research was it to provide information and recommendation in utilizing of Hanjalutung as business place of fishery cultivation. This research was conducted at waters of Hanjalutung Lake, District of Petuk Katimpun, Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan Province. This study was performed from February 2013 in rainy season (high water season) until August 2013 and dry season (low water season). The result of this research showed that water quality parameters were still in the range that can be tolerated by zooplankton. Zooplankton community in Hanjalutung Lake were dominated by small zooplankton of Rotifera Phylum. Most zooplankton were caught at zone IV, from Rotifera Phylum of Trichocerca. Overall the dynamics of zooplankton were significantly affected by water transparancy and pH.

Abstract

Extract of the pituitary gland can affect gonadal maturation through control of GnRH and LH release, which hypothalamus releases GtH, and subsequently pituitary gland secretes luteinizing hormone (LH) triggerring steroid hormones on final maturation. The specific objective of this study was to examine the effectiveness and efficiency of the pituitary gland extract for spawning of climbing perch fish. Benefit of this research was as a contribution to the technology development of climbing perch fish hatcheries on peat swamp waters. Usage of pituitary gland extract 0.002 ml/g can speed up the time of ovulation of climbing perch fish 3.77 hours, increase the value of GSI that was 4.72%, and can increase the amount of egg spent on spawning as many as 2915.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to obtain data on the selectivity of some fishing gear size several types of fish, the mortality parameter several species of fish, fishing season and yield of some fishing gear. The information is expected to provide fill for the management of Rungan river fishery. Research carried out for 4 months, i.e. May to September 2012. Fish sampling techniques performed in a random way and the records maintained by the respondent. The catch from Upper River shows lower yields than from Lower River and estuary. In terms of size selectivity of the fishing gear, fishing gear Selambau jeopardize the sustainability of fish resources, especially for large fish species such as Baung and Haruan, due to the small size when not had time to reproduce has been caught. Value of the rate of catch for large fish that is high enough are: E = 0.71 for Gabus and 0.57 for Baung . As for small fish such as tambakan, value of catch rate is still low E = 0, 41

Abstract

Giving ovaprim with different dose levels in the spawning process will affect gonadal maturation process through the control of GnRH and LH release, which hypothalamic GnRH release, further work secreting pituitary luteinizing hormone (LH) which will trigger the final maturation of steroid hormone to gonads. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of LHRHa + stimulant contained in ovaprim with different dose levels in the process of spawning Climbing perch in the peat water. The study design using a completely randomized design for Climbing perch gonadal maturation studies using ovaprim with 4 treatments ( 1 ml , ½ ml, ¼ ml , and 0 ml / kg body weight). The results of the study showed is best to use a dose ¼ ml/kg body weight, that can increase starting time for courtship and spawning (3:30 and 4:30 hours), increase the value of Gonado Somatic Index (GSI) of 3.09% and increase frequency distribution of end fish eggs diameter 0.70 mm of 67.50%.

Abstract

Grass Carp (Osteochilus melanopleura Bleeker 1852) is herbivorous fish; Silver Rasbora (Rasbora argyrotaenia Bleeker 1849) is omnivorous fish; Catfish (Mystus nemurus C & V) is carnivorous live in freshwater habitats. This study was aimed to evaluate the concentration of Pb and Cd in the gills, liver, kidney, muscle and muscle blood fish released. The samples of fish were taken from the central market of Palangka Raya city. The concentration of Pb and Cd were analyzed by using Atomic Absoption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The results showed that the concentrations of Pb and Cd in the liver is ≥ kidney> gill> muscle> muscle whose blood was removed. The concentration of Pb and Cd in Silver Rasbora is > Catfish > Grass Carp. The concentration of Pb and Cd in fish muscle blood issued less than muscle whose blood does not removed.

Abstract

Rabies or hydrophobia which can be transmitted from animals to humans through the bite incident. Prevention and control of infectious Rabies diseases in animals and humans needs to be done. Cases of dog bites in humans often occurs in Central Kalimantan is no exception in Kabupaten Barito Selatan, and more specifically on Kecamatan Dusun Selatan. This descriptive study using a questionnaire which was distributed to 50 respondents in Kelurahan Hilir Sper. Data analysis with multiple linear regression statistical tests to see the impact of knowledge on prevention participation. Results obtained both categories of knowledge and participation of both categories. Analysis of the results of that knowledge does not affect the level of participation of rabies prevention.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the stimulation of carp pituitary extract on the spawning of climbing perch and also to determine the effectiveness of the use of natural food results from fertilization to climbing perch larval survival. After the granting of pituitary extract increased the diameter of the eggs at the end of treatment A (0.70 mm) = 125 eggs, treatment B (0.70 mm) = 125 eggs, treatment C (0.70 mm) = 135 eggss. While climbing perch without pituitary extract (treatment D) egg at the end diameter there is still a size 0.50 mm = 4 eggs, 0.60 mm = 87 eggs and 0.70 mm = 109 eggs. After mixing climbing perch brood, the treatment A, B and C courtship and spawning occurs as a result of gonadotropin stimulation by the pituitary gland extract. Relative growth rate of climbing perch larvae given natural food reared for 1 month ranged 11208.00% - 6982.61%. Relative growth rate fastest in treatment C fed with 60 liters of filtered with an average relative growth rate 11208.00%. Treatment A and B decreased the relative growth rate, because natural food given limited and may not be used for growth.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the structure of macrozoobenthos community in Rungan river floodplain ecosystem and compare macrozoobenthos abundance in each sampling station. This study was conducted in October 2013 located in one of the existing swamps of Rungan river floodplain is in Dapur Lake, Marang District, Palangka Raya. With the number of observation stations as much as 4 station is at the inlet , middle and outlet of the swamp . The method used is the method of survey, and samples then analyzed in the laboratory . The result is a diversity of macrozoobenthos in station 1, there are 4 classes of insect, station 2 there are 5 classes of insects and nematodes, station 3 there are 3 classes of insects and at station 4 there is one class of insect. The macrozoobenthos dominance is Zavrelimyia sp at station 1 , Procladius sp at station 2, whereas for station 3 is dominated by Chironomus sp and Clinotanypys sp, at station 4 is dominated by Chironomus sp . The highest density of macrozoobenthos 755 ind/m2 at stations II and the lowest density 89 ind/m2 at station IV. The higest diversity index (H ') at station II and the lowest at station IV . Index of Evenness (E) was highest at stations III and the lowest at station IV , with the dominance index was highest at station IV (by Chironomus sp).
