Abstract

This research is aimed at analyzing the valuation of BUMN shares with the dividend discounted model and economic value added model. This study is also aimed to teach early or novice investors about financial statement analysis, which contains information about companies' finances and companies' actions in the following years. Financial statement analysis is not limited to the Price-to-Earnings Ratio (P/E Ratio) and Price-to-Book Value (PBV). There are various analyses that can be used, such as the dividend discounted model aiming to find the company's intrinsic value and economic value added aiming to find economic value that will benefit investors. For this research, the researchers need 12 state-owned-enterprises (SOEs) to be used as samples and secondary data. The data used for this research are financial statements (2015-2019 period) and dividends per share (2015-2019 period). The data used were obtained before the event of CoVID-19. The results show that from the dividend discounted model and economic value added, 7 out of 12 SOEs are undervalued and have economic value for investors.

Abstract

The development of investment in the capital market has developed in line with industry changes, especially investments in equity funds. This research aims to determine the effect of the inflation variable, the size of the equity fund, and the maturity of the equity fund on the performance variable of the equity fund. The sample was conducted using a purposive sampling technique for equity funds registered in the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia (OJK) for the 2010-2019 period. Based on the sampling criteria, a sample of 37 equity funds was obtained. The sample were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results, it was concluded that inflation had a significant effect on the performance of equity funds. The size of the equity fund and the maturity of the equity fund do not affect the performance of the equity fund. Based on the results, the Investment Manager as the investors' trusted party for managing their investment funds needs to pay attention to inflation to manage the assets properly. As an investor, it is required to pay attention to the investment policy in the fund fact sheet, prospectus, and strategy of each equity fund in order to make the right decision.

Abstract

The majority shareholder has the absolute right to appoint or to influence the appointment of company's top management officials, to make decision, and to access company's information. Company performance is the benchmark for a company to achieve its goals. This research aims to determine the condition of majority share ownership, the condition of financial performance, and the influence of majority share ownership to the financial performance of pharmaceutical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2015-2019. This research was conducted on 8 pharmaceutical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2015-2019. This research uses quantitative, hypothetical-deductive method. The data collection technique used is the unobtrusive method. This research uses descriptive analysis and simple linear regression. This research examines the effect of majority share ownership on the financial performance of pharmaceutical companies as measured by the ratio of sales growth, return-on-assets, return-on-equity, earnings-per-share growth, and price-to-book value. The results show that majority share ownership only had a significant effect on the growth of earnings-per-share and price-to-book value. GCG principles are very important and need to be applied to companies. Every role of a company must be able to carry out its functions based on their respective rights and responsibilities.

Abstract

The 2020 Job Creation Law of Indonesia (Ciptaker), which was passed on October 5, 2020, is considered to have a positive impact on the Indonesian capital market. The insights in the stipulation of the Job Creation Act are well utilized by investors in making investment decisions. This research aims to analyze the reaction of the Indonesian capital market by observing the movement of stock prices and stock trading volume. The movement of stock prices is used to examine whether there is an abnormal return, while the trading volume is used to see whether there is an increase in trading volume activity. This research uses an event study method with an observation period of 21 days consisting of 10 days before and 10 days after the announcement of the 2020 Job Creation Act stipulation. The sample consists of 14 manufacturing companies whose shares are listed in the LQ 45 Index with certain criteria. The results show that there was no difference in the average abnormal return between before and after the announcement of the 2020 Job Creation Act stipulation. However, there was a difference in the average trading volume activity before and after the 2020 Job Creation Act announcement.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of information technology, work environment, work motivation, OCB, and social support on employee performance moderated by social support at the TVRI Public Broadcasting Institute. This research uses a quantitative survey. The population and sample in this research consists of 61 people. The data used are primary and secondary data. Data collection methods of this research are interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The data are analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques and inferential statistical analysis. The results of the inferential statistical analysis shows that information technology has a significant effect on employee performance, the work environment has no significant effect on employee performance, work motivation has a significant effect on employee performance and OCB has no significant effect on employee performance. The results of the moderation test shows that social support is able to moderate information technology on employee performance, social support does not moderate the effect of the work environment on employee performance, social support moderates the effect of motivation on employee performance and social support moderates the effect of OCB on employee performance.

Abstract

Social responsibility is a contribution from a company as a corporate responsibility to the community. Public limited companies that are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) should disclose their social responsibilities. Especially in the industries that are related to natural resource processing, it is required in Law number 4 of 2009 concerning mineral and coal mining Article 108 (1) to carry out social responsibility. Disclosure of information consists of mandatory and voluntary disclosures. Financial information is a mandatory disclosure. This disclosure of company financial information triggers this research that focuses on the characteristics of the company. This research focuses on the effect of firm characteristics with dimension of company size, board member size, and managerial ownership. This research was conducted on mining companies in Indonesia listed on the BEI  for the period 2017–2019. The results prove that the total assets of the company, the size of the board of directors, and managerial ownership have a partial influence on the implementation, and disclosure of social responsibility. Based on the simultaneous testing, the size of the company, the size of the board of directors, and managerial ownership have a significant effect on the disclosure of social responsibility.
