Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis is issued two (2) times a year, every March and September, which contains essays or research results in Business Administration. Abstract

If the company fail to react proportionally when the crisis, then the situation mayworst, especially it will affect the image of the company. In the crisis, public willexamine closely whatever the company/management do. In this situation, the massmedia’s role in building the company image is very important. In the crisis, the managementshould govern the communication in three aspect, such as image building,mass media publication, dan public opinion. Understanding the public communication,particularly through the mass media is a great advantage in recovering thecompany reputation.Keywords: Business communication, communication strategy, mass media, publicopinion

Abstract

Marketing activities as any other company functions such as finance, production,human resources should be measured if their performance meets the specified targetcompany. To measure the performance of companies used marketing tool known asa marketing metric. Marketing metrics that can be used or made available so muchso that the company should be able to choose the appropriate metric variation inaccordance with the standards set by the company and also the type of companybusiness. Abstract

With the enactment of the Law on Local Government which regulates the delegationof authority and responsibility the Central Government to Local Governments, andthe emergence of the Law on Financial Balance between Central and Local Governments,are appropriately regions can develop local resources and reduce on theLocal to the Central Government. but, from a variety of empirical observations showthat the implementation of regional autonomy has led to distortions and high costeconomy.In this paper will try to describe and explain the fact that there are policies thatcan be taken to improve the financial performance of Local Government in order toachieve improvement of regional real income to finance sustainable development.Keywords: Local government, central government, autonomy, regional real income,regional tax

Abstract

Work-related stress has become common phenomenon. Many considers it as an isolatedproblem, whereas this stress causes the performance of the company decreases.Managing this stress is still not done enough yet, even in the big companies in developedcountries, due to the low awareness among the managers regarding the problem.Individual worker suffers the stress, so she/he should handle her/his problem, indeed.But the role of the leaders is crucial to handle the problem, such as creating a conduciveand open environment. Abstract

English has been known as the international language that will be needed to communicateworldwide. In the other hand, this language has been perceived as a difficultskill to learn. That will create a de-motivation condition upon several people to learnthis skill. In that condition, the English course service providers must carefully delivertheir programs to get people’s attention as well as their loyalty. In this case,the providers not only need to offer a good value of their programs but also a goodcustomer relationship. A research conducted in an English course institution that hasbeen established since 1971 discovered the effect of customer value and customerrelationship to their customer loyalty.Keywords: customer value, customer relationship, customer loyalty

Abstract

The present paper provides a review of the literature focusing the relationship betweenhuman capital and performance essentially at firm level. The exercise ofreviewing existing literature permitted to uncover three major neglected issues: 1)defining and measurement intellectual and human capital, 2) the analysis of humancapital - firm performance relationship; and 3) human resources management. Abstract

World population growth causes increasing of demand for clean water. On the otherhand, at this moment, the Public water Utilities (PAMs) in various cities, especiallyin developing countries, unable to meet the needs of the entire population, especiallypoor families. Usually the price of piped water is very low. On the other hand, thepoor that no access to piped water pay more than the rich that have access.Usually, PAMs cannot serve the poor because they do not have fund to developthe new network. Furthermore, increase of water rates is necessary to collect moneyfor investment and service improvement. The tariff management must ensure allobjectives of public utilities such as: all families have minimum needs; water conversion;as well as PAMs have required profits are important in public water utilities.Very low tariff that make PAMs do not receive minimum profit for investment inservices and increase coverage area also directly make other objectives fail.The tariff plan of PAM Bandung municipality (PDAM) period 2006-2010 isused to describe tariff management planning. Actual condition in 2010 is also providedto compare the planning and result. Because limitation of data, this studyassume the planning is implemented.Based on the data, this study concludes that the tariff management of PDAM issuccess increase profit but fail improve household connections. Ironically, the connectionsfor the household go down and connections for the business go up. The tariffof PDAM, although they manage the increasing of tariff, cannot be categorized as thetariff increase to raise coverage area but increase to adjust the inflation.Keywords: water, public water utilities (PAMs), tariff, poor household
