Abstract

Given the importance of mathematical critical thinking skills for students in learning mathematics, it is necessary to find solutions and ways of handling them in an innovative learning process so that students can understand problems well. In learning mathematics. One model that can be applied is to apply a problem-based learning model. This study aims to examine the effect of problem-based learning models on students' mathematical critical thinking skills in social arithmetic literature. The population of this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 33 Medan spread over 8 classes. Sampling was done by rational sampling technique. One class was chosen as class V-II7 with 32 students. The sample was determined based on the relative scores of the students' initial aptitude tests. This type of research is a semi-empirical experiment with tools that test mathematical critical thinking skills. Before testing the research hypothesis, a preliminary test was conducted, namely the normality test and homogeneity test. The data from the pre-test were normally distributed and consistent. In addition, the research hypotheses were tested using analysis of covariance (ANACOVA). From the research results obtained sig ? or 0.039 0.05 then the null hypothesis is rejected, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of problem based learning learning model on students' mathematical critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Preliminary studies show that students' problem-solving and creative thinking skills are still low. The application of a realistic mathematics learning model with Jigsaw type cooperative setting is one way to improve it. The focus of this research is to see how a realistic mathematics learning model with a Jigsaw-style cooperative setting affects students' problem-solving and creative thinking skills. A test of problem-solving skills and a test of creative thinking skills are included in the study instrument. The two-way Manova test was employed for data analysis. (1) A realistic mathematics learning model with Jigsaw type cooperative environment has an effect on students' problem-solving abilities with Fhit Ftable of 21,957 3,13, according to the findings. (2) A realistic mathematics learning model with a Jigsaw cooperative type setting has an effect on students' creative thinking ability when Fhit Ftable is 9.206 3.13 (3) Students with Fhit Ftable ie 16.126 3.13 have an influence of a realistic mathematics learning model with Jigsaw type cooperative setting on problem-solving ability and creative thinking capacity. As a result, the realistic mathematics learning approach can help pupils develop their problem-solving and creative-thinking skills.

Abstract

Preliminary studies display that students' representational abilities and interest in mastering are nevertheless low. One manner to enhance its miles through implementing STAD kind cooperative mastering. This look at objectives to decide: (1) the impact of STAD type cooperative mastering on college students' mathematical illustration skills. (2) The effect of STAD type cooperative gaining knowledge of on college students' hobby in getting to know. The research approach used is experimental research within the application of cooperative studying kind (STAD) inside the experimental magnificence and traditional learning in the control magnificence. The population on this observe consisted of all students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Labuhan Deli totaling 219 students. The pattern in this take a look at consisted of the experimental magnificence XI MIA2 and the manipulate magnificence XI MIA1, each of which amounted to 32 people. The prerequisite test become achieved with normality test using Kolmogorov Smirnov take a look at, homogeneity take a look at using Lavene statistical check. Speculation checking out turned into accomplished the use of way Anova evaluation with a significance level of 5%. The consequences showed that: (1) there was an effect of STAD kind cooperative getting to know on the students' mathematical illustration capability of 28.5%; (2) there has been an effect of cooperative mastering kind STAD on college students' interest in studying with the aid of 28.8%. Consequently, it could be concluded that the application of STAD is capable of boom the ability and interest of representatives in pupil mastering.

Abstract

A preliminary study shows that the ability of problem students is still low. The results of the preliminary test show that 50% of students get a bad category. The application of the model's CPS and PBL is an alternative solution to be able to improve it. This research is an experimental study to look at the different effects of the application of CPS and PBL on increasing the abilities Problem-Solving students. The research data was obtained through the ability to test Problem Solving before and after the action. Referring to the results of the descriptive analysis, the average score of students' problem-solving abilities in learning CPS increased by 40.29 points. In learning PBL increased by 38.77 points. It can be concluded that the application of the two models can improve the abilities problem-solving of students'. And there are differences in increasing skills problem solving between students with the application model CPS and students who learn with the model PBL. The learning model CPS is higher with an n-gain value of 0.80 than students who receive learning PBL with an n-gain value of 0.66.
