Abstract

Tourism in Indonesia presents immense opportunities and potential, serving as a major driver for economic development in many regions. One of the locations with significant tourism potential is Bukit Batu Tourism Village, situated in Bukit Batu Subdistrict, Bengkalis Regency. This study focuses on guest evaluations of the service quality of homestays in Bukit Batu Tourism Village. The primary objective is to assess guest satisfaction levels with the services provided by homestays in the village. The research adopts a quantitative method with a descriptive approach, collecting data through surveys of guests who stayed at homestays in the tourism village. The survey utilized a questionnaire based on dimensions of service quality, including tangibles, empathy, responsiveness, reliability, and assurance. The findings reveal that service quality plays a critical role in creating positive impressions among guests and must be continuously improved to meet their expectations. One key aspect highlighted is the importance of ensuring uniformity in service delivery across all homestays. Given that guests are highly attentive to every detail of the service, clear standardization is essential to ensure that all homestays provide consistently high-quality experiences. Abstract

The focus of this research is to analyze the European Union's anti-dumping policy on Cold Rolled Stainless Steel products from Indonesia in 2021-2022. During the investigation period, the European Committee discovered dumping practices on Cold Rolled Stainless Steel imported from Indonesia and that there were losses to the European Union steel industry. The form of loss experienced by European Union steel producers is the loss of market share, due to the increasing price competitiveness of imported products which the European Union sees as an intervention by the Indonesian government. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, with a nation-state level of analysis, the theory used is protectionism theory from a neo-mercantilism perspective. To analyze this case, the author collected data from journals, books, websites, and other sources related to the European Union-Indonesia requirements and inspections of the export of Indonesian Cold Rolled Stainless Steel steel products. The results of this research show that the European Union's anti-dumping policy towards Indonesian Cold Rolled Stainless Steel is to impose countervailing measures in the form of anti-dumping import duties (BMAD) on imported products from Indonesia. The Indonesian government provides interventions that favor domestic producers in the form of HGBT policies, investment incentives, protection of import permits through regulations, prohibition and restriction policies (lartas), as well as the implementation of Indonesian National Standards (SNI). Therefore, the selling price of steel in Indonesia is cheaper than the selling price of steel in European Union countries. Therefore, the existence of anti-dumping import duties affects Indonesian steel producers when they sell their steel, this problem resulted in a WTO panel being sued by Indonesia. Keywords: Anti Dumping Import Duty (BMAD), Cold Rolled Stainless Steel, Dumping, Indonesia, European Union, Proteksionisme.

Abstract

Gastrodiplomacy has emerged as a strategic tool for nations to enhance their global image. By leveraging the power of food, countries can foster international relations and promote their cultural heritage. Successful cases of gastrodiplomacy can be observed in a number of nations where culinary has proved to be a major driver in cultural and economic interactions. Inspired by this success, Indonesia launched the Indonesia Spice Up The World program to showcase its rich culinary heritage and spices on the global stage, with a particular focus on the Australian market. This study examines Indonesia's gastrodiplomacy efforts through this program in Sydney between 2021 and 2023. Employing a qualitative research methodology, this study combined primary data collected from interviews with non-governmental actors, such as the Indonesia Gastronomy Network, and secondary data from literature reviews and documents. The theory of multi-track diplomacy serves as the theoretical framework for this research. By utilizing the four tracks of theory, namely government, NGOs, businesses, and diasporas, this study explores the initiatives undertaken to promote Indonesian cuisine in Sydney during 2021-2023. The implementation of multi-track diplomacy indicates its effectiveness in supporting Indonesia's gastrodiplomacy efforts through the Indonesia Spice Up The World program. Each track delivers a distinctive contribution to the program's four pillars: spices and processed foods, Indonesian restaurants, culinary promotion, Indonesia’s gastronomy destination. Through the combined efforts of the four tracks, Indonesia has effectively strengthened its image and appeal as a culinary destination in Sydney between 2021 and 2023. This study emphasizes the significance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in implementing Indonesia’s gastrodiplomacy initiatives. Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) is the largest health organization that helps address health problems in the world by providing direction, assistance in the form of health facilities, logistics, funds, and working with the community to fight health problems in the world. Malawi experienced the worst cholera outbreak in its history with 59,156 cases in 2022-2023. In this context, WHO is playing a crucial role in helping Malawi to deal with the cholera outbreak during this period. The results of this study indicate that the World Health Organization has played an important role in addressing the cholera outbreak in Malawi. Based on the theory of International Organizations proposed by Clive Archer, international organizations can act as instruments, arenas, and independent actors. As an instrument, WHO supports the Malawian government to conduct socialization, campaigns, monitoring and supervision and vaccination. As an arena, WHO acts in organizing coordination meetings with the Malawian government. As an independent actor, WHO provides operational assistance, logistics, funds, and sends health workers to treatment centers. Keywords: World Health Organization (WHO), Malawi, Cholera, Health
