Abstract

Established on July 10, 1991 in Sidoarjo, East Java, PT X is a company engaged in the field of general printing, especially printing commercial documents. In carrying out its business processes, the company is using software, hardware, network, and machines used for the production process. But the company was less concerned about security for asset and data owned companies. Though the data and information are now becoming a very important asset. Thus the required audit information system that aims to analyze the extent to which extent the companys information system security.This thesis analyzed informationsystem security audit of IT in PT. X. The steps in the audit analysis is by using COBIT 4.1 standards. Problems were found in the company of, among others, there is no assignment letter given to employees of IT in PT X, no monthly report on IT security made by the IT division of PT X, there is no IT security standards as the reference in the company, not using cryptographic key features implemented in protecting data and information.The response given to the company that the company should make a task and make monthly reports on IT security. Soon also to make IT security standards and create cryptographic keys for protecting and and information held by company.In this study discusses one domain that Deliver and Support of 4 domain in COBIT the discussion is limited to Ensure systems security (DS5).

Abstract

This thesis’ goal is to let computer recognize Javanese letters. Before a computer is able to recognize Javanese letters, segmentation and feature extraction process is needed. After the features of Java letters that have been segmented obtained, then the features will be processed using computer learning method so that the computer can recognize the letters.Input is in the form of .CSV file that contains features of the Javanese document image that had previously segmented. Output text is a text file that contains unicode representation letter from Java font and a .CSV file that contains the test and data classification results. This application is created with C# programming language and Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 IDE.As for the process that is done is as follows: prepare the .CSV file resulting from the extraction of features to be used as learning materials or trainer for computer learning network. After the trainer file ready, then the network will be trained. After the training is complete, the network can receive other data input, and then classify it according to what has been learned.Probabilistic neural network and ID3 used as computer learning methods, which after data testing, it is found that PNN give higher accuracy result than ID3.

Abstract

Technology is now growing rapidly in the world, namely smartphones, making us easy to do many things in daily life - today. The number of smartphones with Android Operating System helped us in many ways, including in the field of work. Along with the development of smartphone technology that requires a data connection, the computer network becomes a matter that needs to be developed. For the sake of ease of development of the network, the need for computer network design simulation software.This application helps in the manufacture of computer network that have personal computer components, switches and routers. IP on each component mounting aided by the function checks the correct format, subnet calculator that can help calculate IP quickly, and alsothe function of static routing on the router. This application is built using the Java programming language with the android his studio as an IDE.Results of the testing system, component in ease of application make some form of assistance filling of each object. The main canvas which has rescaling makes it easy to adapt the application with device that based on Android. The function of the switch which automatically takes the IP from each end of the interface. The search function is an automatic way data transmission and will identify existing static routing makes us also can map the data transmission device.

Abstract

In this well developed era, technology becomes a part that can not be neglected. Speed in searching for information has become crucial and the old ways are gradually left behind. It is not surprising that the internet takes an important role in life; website has become a common media to look for information.This thesis is meant to ease the users who look for information about events in Petra Christian University. By using web, users can see list of events, not only events that are happening or upcoming (displayed as a calendar), but also past and historical events (displayed as a timeline) in Petra Christian University.Besides being facilitated in looking for event information, users also can see documentation of historical events and be reminded of important things that had already happened.

Abstract

High life demands nowadays make the individual emotional state change easily. Music is one of many media that is used to stabilize a person’s emotional condition. However, wrong use of music can worsen a person’s emotional condition, as in the case of today’s society.To prevent that, an application that can detect the user’s facial expression to stabilize the user’s emotional state through music is developed. The expression on the face is determined by the position of eyebrows, eyes, mouth, and wrinkles features. The positions of detected features are compared with those in a neutral face that has been previously calibrated. The difference of features’ positions will be used as input of the trained neural network to determine the expression on the detected face.Through some experiments, the accuracy of detection of facial features and facial expressions are known. The detected expression will trigger the playback of music to stabilize the user’s emotional condition. The weakness of this application is that the music library must be set manually by the user.

Abstract

Strategy is one of the more popular video game genres. There are many factors that can affect whether a strategy game is good or not. Some of those are the graphics of the game, the menus and features, and also the AI inside the game. This game is made with that understanding.The game will be made with Unity Game Engine. ID3 and Backpropagation will be used as the AIs in this game. The game is divided into two parts, namely the exploration mode and the battle mode. In the exploration mode, the player can freely explore their surrounding environment, interact with NPCs, or encounter an enemy. Battle mode is a mode where the player fights the enemy they encounters. Battle mode will be played in a grid that resembles a chessboard. The game will go into this mode only if the player made contact with the enemy in exploration mode. When the battle is finished, the player will return to exploration mode.The resulting games are tested by playing the game from start to finish. From the results, it can be concluded that the game has implemented the general features of games in strategy and RPG genre.

Abstract

News application is an application used to read news from one or more sources. The development of this Android news application is based on the use of smartphones and tablets which are starting to become a necessity in todays society. The application is made so that readers can access news wherever and whenever as long as internet connection is available. News source used by the application is Dwi Pekan Petra Christian University. Until now, Dwi Pekan publishes their news in the form of print media and via the website. To maximize Dwi Pekan publication, an Android application is made so that Dwi Pekan can better reach its readers.In the application there are several features that can simplify Dwi Pekan readers in getting the best reading comfort. Dwi Pekan application provides news to be able to meet the reading needs in different types and sizes of smartphones and tablets. The application was created using Ionic Framework with JavaScript Framework AngularJS, Cordova API, and Node.js.After going through the process of testing that has been done, the application can show Dwi Pekan news and present it well. Applications can also run all the features contained in it.

Abstract

Chinese is a language thats becoming known Nationally and Internationally as well as widely spoken in various walks of life. For this reason, many schools was introduced Chinese language learning from kindergarten. Sometimes kids feel bored using books for learning, because they think that books is not interested and not flexible. Learning Chinese must attractive and flexible to attract children to learn. The use of mobile learning applications installed on the Android device using Eclipse IDE to get data is a way to learning and help the child to be able to learn independently, through features that are provided.Features was provided for learning Chinese is equipped with teaching materials are classified into several categories including learning menu, writing hanzi menu, the exercise menu consisting of quizzes, games and video. To see the development of the childs ability to there is quiz features provided with the assessment contained in the score menu. Based on the results of testing, this learning applications can run well on devices with the Android operating system version 4.1 to 5.0.2, and accessing databases on the admin web it is running well. That’s all to provide children comfort to learning Mandarin. There testing done by giving questionnaires to 10 respondents to determine the level of satisfaction. Based on questionnaires distributed, 50 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with the overall application and another 50 percent said they were very satisfied.

Abstract

than SQL is the general idea of this Hadoop implementation. The advancement of technology generates growing amount of data and demands a new method to process the big data. The performance of this hadoop implementation was also compared with that of SQL to prove hadoop’s novelty in processing big data. Moreover different hadoop’s implementations – such as various number of nodes, use of a combiner, and use of different block sizes – were evaluated.Hadoop was implemented for five queries (or problems) in processing the library circulation data. Those five problems are finding the numbers of borrowing transactions categorized by the audio-video types, collection types, titles, locations, and users’ departments.Some conclusions can be drawn based on the hadoop mapreduce implementation. Hadoop’s performance tops SQL’s when large data are being processed. The more the number of computer nodes, the faster the mapreduce application is to complete its execution. Use of a combiner can speed up the application’s execution. The arrangement with full data blocks can give better execution time than that with non-full data blocks does. In this hadoop implementation, the execution time using the block size of 128 MB is smaller than that of 28 MB and 512 MB.

Abstract

Parfumku.net is an online-based company engaged in the service order and delivery of perfume. Business processes owned by parfumku.net today still use the short message service (SMS) media to serve the order and delivery of perfume. Therefore, parfumku.net want to create a website that facilitates the customer to select and purchase the desired perfume, as well as enable the company to serve existing purchases.Website created a variety of features, in accordance with the access rights owned by the user, the admin or customer. Features - features that are owned by users who have access rights as a customer is a view and buy products, features add to cart, and check the status of perfume features purchased. In addition, the website has an added feature that is the discount for booking a certain number of purchases in the form of a package, specific packages with a special price, and ease to choose the delivery services in accordance with customer wishes. As for the admin, there are a variety of features including to input, edit, and delete products, to check the incoming reservations, and see the existing charts. Design and manufacture of the website is done by using the programming language Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), Ajax, and JavaScript for the manufacture user interface and functional website, and MySQL for database website. Typing and workmanship websites using notepad ++ software.Based on the questionnaire to 10 respondents which samples were taken randomly from customers parfumku.net. Overall with an average score of 80.28% indicates that the website parfumku.net order goods included in either category.
