Abstract

CV. Prima Maju Jaya is difficult to estimate the purchase number of raw materials since the chemical raw material prices are always fluctuating. This final assign­­ment was cond­uc­ted using the Continous Review concepts to know the ordering time before it runs ou­t. Methods of special sale prices and known price increases use­d to determine how many items sh­ould be or­dered­. This research will assi­­st the company in determining the quantity an­d the ordering time for minimizing the inventory costs. Alternative order quantity is re­prese­nted by the lowest cost, the highest cost, and the average cost of the last two months. Alternative or­der quantity is com­pared with the company's condition. Cost of inventories of chemicals types A through G will be minimal when an alternative numbers is applied, except for the chemicals types B. Sensitivity ana­lysis models Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) is also done to determine the im­pact of the parameter of ordering and holding costs.

Abstract

The research was done at a manufacturing company that processes wire nails. The problem always happens on the operator of installation belt parts and there is many plastic tie unused. One of them usually unable to work, because they have to wait for the proccess of input a nails into cardboard and removal cardboard boxes. The company wants a better system improvement with an ergonomic approach. The design work plan for this company can be done with an ergonomic approach analyzed through anthropometric data, standard time, and standardization work. The results obtained by design work tool, with two table proposals. For small packaging nails that can reduce the workload through the reduction of effort expended by 9561.6 Joule. The recommendation for the large packaging nails, obtained a scissor lift and one a table that could also reduce the workload through the reduction of effort expended by 457.39 joules.

Abstract

Scheduling is an important thing to determine accuracy on a project delivery to customers. Delays on a project delivery of PT. Aweco Indosteel Perkasa because of in­a­ccurate esti­mated calculation processing time which makes the difference from planned sche­dule with the plan conditions on production. To analyze the causes of delay, used the QCC (Quality Control Ci­rcle) method to get root cause is inaccuracy of estimated cal­c­ulation time jobs and uncontrolled material arrival process. Initial estimated schedule plan for polishing takes 8 shift, while based on the calculation time takes 11.24 shift and on­ the plan conditions takes 17 shift. This indi­cated that there were differences bet­ween plan time, the initial estimate, and the estimate time of calculation. Machine set up makes a difference estimated calculation, whereas the machine set up time very con­sidered in the estimated time calculation of polishing work. Efforts to catego­ri­zing tank types based on components of the tanks was also made. Beside that, calculating time esti­mation in polish machine done for categorizing type of tank.

Abstract

Acquisition of PT. X by parent company affect in human resource development (HRD) department which is changing personnel transaction process becomes complicated. There are 11 steps with the process time (lead time) per transaction for 31.93 days. The process will be simplified in order to proceed more effectively and efficiently with value stream mapping (VSM) method. The use of this VSM can determine which processes are value-added and non-value-added that can be further analyzed to see which process is waste. Hereafter, analyzing of the waste(s) and propose process simplification. Proposed of process simplification tested with simulations with some personnel transactions process. The results of the process simplification show a decrease processing time by 36.4% with the 7 steps and the lead time required for one transaction is 20.3 days. The procedures/ guideline (local content) need to be made due to personnel transaction process simplification which contains work steps. The local content will guide in processing the personnel transaction. Finally, overall changes need to be communicated using e-mail blast, presentation and easy card.

Abstract

Competition in the industrial world forcing every company to have a strategy in their production process. Layout arrangement is one of the strategy that can be done so that the production process can run more efficiently. Two strategies that can be used in the layout arrangement are product layout and process layout. The initial layout, product layout, and process layout will be simulated by using Promodel software. Research in this final project will determine the best layout through the comparison of the four factors which are output of products, transportation time, operator utility, and moment. These results indicate that the process layout is better when compared with the initial layout and product layout of the four factors above. Comparison with the initial layout show that the product output from process layout can be increased by 37.49% for can product and 55.22% for lid product. Average transport time on the process layout can be decreased by 88.97%. The average operator utility on the process layout can be increased by 41.81%. Moment of the process layout can be decreased by 53.80%.

Abstract

The study was conducted at the manufacturing company of the aluminum casting that produces hoist cyilinder and power take off. The Company was not yet fully implemented the quality management system ISO 9001:2008. Based on an initial gap analysis, it is known that the company has only implemented the quality management system requirements by 37.21%. The purpose of this study is to fill the existing gap. The research results showed that 60.46% the quality management system requirements have been met.

Abstract

Standarization and monitoring are important to control all activity in a company. The project is focused on making of Standart Operating Procedure (SOP) for hygiene and safety also on 5R applying on daily activity in every PT Warung Indonesia’s outlet is important things to do a business. Work performance measurement have did to find productivity level. This project was using observation method and identification of tool use in determining SOP and 5R and work sampling method to find work performance. The result work performance measurement is 89,93%, it shows that all workers works optimaly. This productivity will be more increasing by assigning SOP and 5R for hygiene and safety.
