Abstract

In general of a restaurant, a comfortness of the furniture is very important for the guess,  because the more comfortable furniture in a restaurant will make more people want to stay. A restaurant must have furnitures that support guess activity when dining, tables and chairs. For the convenience of feeding activity in living together, required an adjustment of furniture so that an atmosphere of togetherness is more pronounced. Ergonomics is the study of human aspects in the work environment are reviewed in anatomy, psychology, engineering, management and design. Ergonomics and comfort wherever and whoever needed because the effectiveness of a persons performance. A research of ergonomics from the view of anthropometric is a group of ergonomic research of working place measurements with a purpose to get a design of work palce that suit with human dimension. The research method that we used is quantitative analysis descriptive. Quantitative is about describe the furniture and user activity, descriptive is a method that describe the event and situation with a purpose of making a basic data accumulation. Ergonomic from the view of anthropometric of the furniture (dining table and chair, salad bar, waiting chair, lavatory, and cashier register) in Pizza Hut East Surabaya is appropriate with standard just there are little differences. From the result of questionnaire, most of the respondent clarify that they already feel comfort with the furnitures.

Abstract

Mangrove jungle is one of the new domestic place in Surabaya. Now, many contractor is making a new properties in there & they destroyed it. Actually, mangrove jungle can help many person to get a many money. Lulut Sri Yuliani is a leader made any product original from the jungle. She know the function of the junggle and  She make a batik mangrove, “sirup mangrove”, accessories for woman and man. She made batik with different process of the others. Lulut produce batik on the little garage of her house with a few people.. In the other hand, the purpose of the project is give  information for many people that mangrove jungle is important for Surabaya and please stop destroy it. The main problem on this desain is how to design interior gallery to inform about batik, and many product of mangrove and the design can be unity with the display, and interior a workshop to teach how to make a batik for research to inform and educate about mangrove jungle and the last interior galeri used modern natural theme with mangrove jungle characteristic and also batik mangrove character. This research used deskriptif method research. This concept is expresion of bogem which inspired by bogem trees and aplied for shape, color and material on ceiling, wall, floor, ornament and display cabinet. The design style is modern with natural theme.

Abstract

Sneakers are shoes made of rubber soles that have become a style now. Many people wear this shoes for their daily use to a variety of activities. By the time, kind of sneakers lovers community exploded in Indonesia, especially in Surabaya. These communities are found live in social network internet, there came a problem in this community that they doesn’t have a real place that specifically accommodate the activities of sneakers lovers.  The purpose of this interior design sneakers addict center is that sneakers lovers who had been living in the virtual world, now has a spesific place for their activities and make this facility as one of the icon places for sneakers lovers in Surabaya city that should be visited by the sneakers lovers from all over Indonesia, the concept Urban Authentic is connected with the history of sneakers and show up the authenticity of a brand image which is combined with industrial style. As expected that this facility could meet the needs and activities of sneakers lovers, especially in Surabaya.

Abstract

Lighting is one of the important aspects in the interior of a retail shop. With adequate and even distribution of light as well as high-selling image, the products will look more interesting that consumers will be attracted to see them. This research was conducted to study that issue but will limit the discussion on artificial lighting.The research used quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative method was done by measuring the data in the field, questionnaire and optimization of artificial lighting whereas the qualitative method by literature, observation, interview and photo documentation. Analysis is done descriptively by comparing state of the field, literature and simulation. The result shows that the light distribution during the day is still less uniform than at night. Artificial lighting optimization was done by creating simulations with DIALux 4.7. program in 3 scenarios. The final scenario has already met the standard. Results of questionnaire and interview shows that lighting in Domus Furniture and Home Decor affect the selling image, because artificial lighting in the interior of Domus Furniture and Home Decor looks attractive, bright and the products are also more visible from the outside

Abstract

The interior design generally focuses on the aspect of function, but the development has a wider outreach, one of which is an aspect of human behavior as user space. The interior design is closely related to the problem of human activity, because people spend most of his life in a space. The major factor in the design of the interior is divided into three elements, human, space, and environment. This study aims to determine the effect of the interior of Toko Oen Malang visitor behavior, by using the theory of behavior settings. The results of this research indicate that the interior of Toko Oen Malang an impact on visitor activity pattern. It can be seen through the pattern of activity that is formed in each category, where visitors activity patterns are influenced by the shape, color, space organization, and circulation.

Abstract

This project aims to introduce traditional Japanese dance, Kabuki as one of the components that enrich the culture of Indonesia. This center serves public facilities that have a connection with a community learning activities to learn the art of Kabuki traditional dance broadly, open, and appreciate art. The concept is movement by taking the concept of a centralized space set according with the order of importance based on the problems that arise and adapted to some of the literature and survey as guidance in solving problems to achieve the above objectives. Application presented through the plot, shapes, colors, and materials of nature in accordance with the design concept.

Abstract

Clans Tolaki and Wolio are two very prominent clans in Southeast Sulawesi island implement cultural value system when building a house to live in or homes to gather, the so-called cosmological natural divisions and division which refers to the body anlogi. Formation and function of the existing interior in Tolaki tribal house and tribal house Wolio is and should be maintained so that the ancestral culture does not disappear. Custom home at the time now many are not treated, so the meaning of the form and function of the interior tribes and tribal Wolio Tolaki no longer fully contain customary meaning as changes induced in ancestral times so when direkrontuksi is no such customary rules and regulations. Basics of notching custom home design and the meaning of the formation and function are the things that should be known of the two tribes and tribal tribes Tolaki Wolio through qualitative research methods. Notching custom home construction arrangement of these families is very evident in the distribution and pemaknaanya, so when building a house it seems clear that there is an analogy of the body is contained in either house of the arrangement and structure.

Abstract

---- In the school building, the design of the interior space is a major concern, because an interior space is well designed and properly will be able to support the childrens learning process. Gymboree Playgroup has  several concept such as creativity, confidence and friendship. Gymboree also has a wide range of classes, such as play and learn, music classes, art classes, gymnastic classes, and educational classes. The diversity of the class at the school is what makes the school attractive to Gymboree Playgroup designed. This design aims to create a school that can spur creativity, confidence and friendship among children. Design methods used include the manufacture of critical review, proposal design, literature review, and conduct surveys, create programming, schematic and design development, and then proceed with the final design and mockups. Design results will show how to design schools that reflect Gymboree corporate identity, as well as how to support creativity, confidence and friendship in children through design.

Abstract

Public Library and Archive of Malang is a library that managed by the city government. The library financed by government for library development. The development of the library collection has been done and needs further development on its interior design. This development aims to fix the library interior in order to support the library system and make it more comfortable and interesting. The library is expected to become an icon of Malang’s education. This expectation then bodied in the library re-design theme, called "Welcome to Malang". “Welcome to Malang” expresses acceptance and friendliness. Under this concept, the culture of Malang will be revealed. Theme then divided into 3 sub-concepts, namely: "Batik Malangkucecwara" which was applied to interior elements and color scheme of the lobby, "Apple Plantation" which was applied to layout arrangement, furniture design, and decorative elements of childrens library, and the "Society of Malang" shown in the public library area layout arrangement and material selection. The common thread of all three sub-concept is shown in the open plan layout arrangement and material selection.

Abstract

The study of the meaning of ritual and ceremonial space is closely related to cultural studies which studied philosophy or meaning of a cultural object. a meaning is formed by symbols, human activities, cultures, and so on. Space in terms of the Java strongly associated with their understanding of the place. A place in the Javanese tradition is understood as a characteristic of daily activities. The aim of this study is to determine the physical reality of Surakarta Palace for ritual and ceremonial activities, as well as knowing the meaning of which is formed from the interaction between ritual and ceremony with the physical reality of Surakarta Palace, using a qualitative research method and field research strategy. This study is expected to help the author and other researchers to do a study about ritual and ceremonial space in Surakarta Palace. The result of this research is the knowledge about a space that is empty if there are no human activities in it. When the room is filled with activities, it has a meaning.
