Abstract

Lifestyle of modern people use some time to move out of residence (public space) makes the most of the private activities can not be fulfilled. It is an idea and the idea of creating a space that can meet the needs of the private in public spaces with small dimensions. Private space in the design of the library is housed in Petra Christian University Surabaya as space scope of small private space (minimal private space dimension). The creation of small private space in the interior of the library can be considered fulfillment activity is private and academic support activities at the Library of Petra Christian University in Surabaya.

Abstract

Modular indoor booth design is an inovation on product display system for the interior of exhibition space. The aim of this booth design is to facilitate the exhibition’s organizer in setting up and disassembling the booth. Combining modular system and breakdown system in the design may provide an ease in many aspects, such as in transportation, assembly dan storage. Methodology design by Kembel[1] used in the design process, including 5 stages consist of understand, define, ideate, prototype and test. The advantages of this display system are its capability in adapting on different situation may appear in exhibition space and creating several different forms from one set booth design. It also supports the world in overcome global warming by using material efficiently.

Abstract

Interior Designing Healthy Reflexology and Fitness Center was made due with a growing era, more and more people are not concerned with health, while the burden of work they have to do that will ease the increasing occurrence of stress that makes the muscles become tense, nervous impaired, body poisons buried, substandard blood circulation resulting in reduced arousal works. Therefore health is a very important thing for the community.In order for the data collection to be valid then designed several methods of design methodologies such as observation (direct observation), interviews with the instructor, the library to get the theories that support the validity of field data, and documentation to supplement the data obtained.Through the concept of Paradise of Bali which is applied every related kinds of interior elements and furniture, people can find a comfortable and attractive place to do sports, and increase the motivation of the health visitor. In this design also provides adequate facilities to meet the needs of the community fitness facility.

Abstract

The health development of nowadays children is far different from children in the past. Children that are born in this modern era have bigger potential to suffer from the diseases that were once only suffered by adults such as obesity, diabetes, and stroke. The supporting factor are the diet of nowadays instant lifestyle and the limited activities which occur due to the technology development. The design of  Childrens Nutrient Information Center is one of the ways to help parents and especially children to introduce the healthy food and also to help them to learn cooking by providing food adventure center facility, cooking studio, library, and consultation room. The design concept is Healthy Spoon which aimed for a reminder to the children of the importance of eating healthy food through each spoon they eat form.

Abstract

Development of fashion and culinary in Indonesia is growing rapidly. Boutiques and cafes are very identical to human life. For this design of Topshop boutique and café in Surabaya have some facilities such as boutiques, cafes, fashion show area, nail art station, clothing reparation area and children’s play area. The concept is “Oxford Street” which is the name of the first place that Topshop was established, in London. The atmosphere that want to be created in this design is the atmosphere of city street which is surrounded by shop, café and another public facilities are also widely encountered along the way.

Abstract

Cosmology is the understanding of the world. In Toraja culture, the dominant cosmology is field cosmology. Purpose of this research is to analyze how paradigm of Toraja people understand the world, based on the principles of field cosmology that applicated through interior design of Tongkonan. This research aims to examine the practical application of the field cosmology on Tongkonan interior, so it can provide insight and new discourse for practitioners and students of interior design later.

Abstract

Music booming across the country, including in Indonesia, especially in Surabaya. Many music schools that provide for the needs of the musicians in Surabaya. However, the licensed music school Yamaha Musik Indonesia most in demand because they have the international standards for curriculum use. The design of “House of Music” is intended to accommodate the educational needs of the musicians, especially in the area of West Surabaya. In addition, the application of the concept of Repetizione con Moto on the interior makes "House of Music" is different than the other Yamaha music school. This concept is the application of the tones are repeated only with different pitch. Given this concept, the musicians are expected to perform in the musical activity in the "House of Music" comfortably.

Abstract

Cultural change it has been going on since the Dutch began to colonize the human and natural resources of indonesia. Depelopment also accurred in the Kudus city, a city district in central java. Villa-style homes are custom homes in the Kudus city that combines the traditional elements of java with european elements. This study discussing what uniqueness that exist in the interior of the sacred customs  terms of arrangement of the room, ornamnets, and the meaning of the decoration by using descriptive method. The results showed thet interior of the house is different from traditional sacred javanese traditional house interior in general, as more carvings that dominate the interior of house and the sculpture has meaning and incorporated elements from outside the island of java, combined with local culture.

Abstract

The advancement of fashion industry is growing rapidly, and every single society is fond of it. Attention is given on formal, informal, and even casual outfit. With the presence of Jakarta Fashion Week every year, people are able to see the diversity of fashion’s evolution. Hence, this Jakarta Fashion Week Museum Interior Design is expected to provide knowledge and educate the public visitors regarding the evolution of fashion trends in Indonesia. Moreover, it conveys a message to the world that Indonesia is able to compete in global fashion industry. The Harmony of Geometrical Shapes concept is what this design will put forth. Thus, the will-be-used interior is more towards simple and geometric formation. This geometric formation is used in order to make the displayed fashion looks more prominent and attractive. Supporting facilities in this design are the lobby, gift shop, retail shop, café, museum display and show area, which will make visitors comfortable.

Abstract

Jember is a regency that have a lot of tourism objects and culture that needs to be introduced through Indonesia. Rembangan is one of potential tourism object that needs to be managed. This Unique Dutch Heritage Architecture and Interior  Building is historical. Based on research, Rembangan has been experienced some renovation for a few times, but Rembangan itself had not has a fixed form of building. Jember is famous with a fertile soil and abundant agriculture which becomes one of appeal tourism attraction. The people’s modern lifestyle has also required a changing of the activities pattern and interior needs, which caused there is a needs of facility replenishment that gives comfort and gratification. The facility will not only focus on its function but also from the aesthetic and culture application. The coherency of the function, aesthetic and culture will create an appropriate living environment. The concept application “Luxury in Farming” that gives luxury and farming environment which also the constitute of the soul of the Jember resident to applied in a space create a Rembangan tourism object will be the best hostelry in Jember town.
