Abstract

 Abstract. Job satisfaction is a positive feeling about a job that resulting from an evaluation of its characteristics and could effect organization life. Job satisfaction can be influenced by an aspect such as supervision from leader. Supervision is the relationship between leader and follower. There is two styles of leadership when viewed from the interaction between leader and follower, those are transactional and transformational leadership. The aim of this study was to find out the relationship between transactional and transformational leadership with the level of job satisfaction in PT X. The hypotheses of this research were; (1) there was a positive relationship between transactional leadership and job satisfaction and (2) there was a positive relationship between transformational leadership and job satisfaction. The subjects of this research were the employees that are categorized as staff in PT X. Quantitative approach was used using the scale of leadership style and job satisfaction. The data was analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The result of this study showed (1) there is a positive relationship between transactional leadership and the level of job satisfaction; and (2) there is a positive relationship between transformational leadership and the level of job satisfaction. Based on the result of this study, levels of trust also had relationship with leadership style and job satisfaction.Keywords: leadership style, transactional, transformational, job satisfaction

Abstract

Abstract This research was conducted to find relationship between work-family conflict and work engagement among working mother. Work-family conflict was measured using Work-Family Conflict Scale (Carlson, Derr, & Wadsworth, 2003) and work-engagement was measured using Utrecth Work- Engagement Scale (Schaufeli, Bakker, & Salanova, 2006). The participants were 72 mothers who work in the formal sector, both public servant and private sector employees. The main result of this research showed that work-family conflict doesn’t have a significant correlation with work engagement among working mother, r (70) = -.080; p > .05.  Keywords: Work-family conflict, work engagement, working mother

Abstract

Abstract. This research aimed to determine whether there is a difference between forgiveness of the elders who live in nursing home and in home. This study used a quantitative methods approach and used t-test statistic technique. The forgiveness were measured by TRIM 18 scale. The subjects were elderly aged 65 years old or above with random sampling (n=89). The result showed that there are differences between forgiveness the elders who live in nursing home and in home. Elders who live in nursing home have a fair score in forgiveness category and elders who live in home have a low score in forgiveness category. The result of data analysis showed the value of t is 3.440 with probability (p) < 0.05. If viewed from the mean value, there is a significant difference, in which the highest value of mean obtained by the elders who live in nursing home = 43.75 and the elders who live in home = 36.14. Keywords: elderly, forgiveness, nursing home

Abstract

AbstrakAcademic motivation showed inner drive within every students to achieve highest achievement. They were internal and external factor that influence ones academic motiation.  This research aime to explore and describe academic motivation in high school student in West Borneo.   Using cluster disproportionate stratified random sampling, 184 highschool student from three different area in West Borneo selected as the sample. Academic motivation measured using the LOMOT (Low Motovation) dimension of SMALSI (Student Motivation and Learning Style Inventory (SMALSI). Result found that student academic achievement in West Borneo is in medium level. Result alsho showed  there was a significant different in academic motivation between student in the Pontianak city,Singkawang region and Kembayan districk.   Kata kunci : academic motivation, highschool student, West Borneo
