Abstract

The objectives of this research is to analyze the effects of needs and compensations fulfillment on police department (Satreskrim) members job satisfaction. Satreskrim is demanded to always give proper and satisfying service to the society. In increasing service or productive and professional performance, members job satisfaction needs to be fulfilled. This research is a combination of explanatory research, which emphasize the connection between research variables and tests the formulated hypothesis and descriptive research as a next step after explanatory research, which discovers and portrays how big the effect of these variables. The population in this research is Satuan Reserse Kriminal Polres Kota X. Samples are chosen using proportional random sampling method, based on position level. Data collection is using questionnare, interview, observation and documentation. multiple regression analysis is used to process the data. The result of this research shows that needs fulfillment and compensations affects job satisfaction simultaneously. Partially, needs fulfillment doesn’t affect job satisfaction. Whereas, compensations partially affects job satisfaction . Compensations has dominant effect on job satisfaction. Based on the result, researcher needs to suggest the Indonesian Police Department to increase members job satisfaction continuously , so that they will be able to encourage better and professional job performance.Keyword : needs fulfillment, ERG Alderfer, compensation, job satisfaction, police department.

Abstract

This study aims to find a strategy/right model that can be used for poverty reduction by analyzing the effect of poverty alleviation programs in the form of exchange rights to land, direct cash aid, the implementation of the built hamlet on the growth of people’s income level in Wonodadi hamlet. This research is an experimental research that be carried out for 5 months. In the implementation of the experiment, the sample was divided into two groups of free groups and the control group. Once data is collected, the data were analyzed by using regression analysis and one-way anova. From the data analysis has been done can be concluded: first, poverty reduction programs in the form of exchange rights to land can increase people’s income, the second, poverty reduction program in the form of direct cash aid can not improve people’s income, third, built hamlet program implementation can improve the people’s income, fourth, there are income differences between the hamlets that are nurtured and a hamlet that is not nurtured.Keywords: exchange rights to land, direct cash aid, built hamlet.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the tendency ethnocentrism, attitudes, and intentions of consumers in buying shoes product which is made by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) using the concept of ethnocentrism. Ethnocentrism is a sociological concept first introduced by Sumner (1906) which refers to attitudes, beliefs, standards, and the excessive behavior of a personfor something in environment. Shimp and Sharma (1987) says that consumers who are etnocentric consumers who have views about the suitability and moral in buying behavior of foreign products.The sample for this research is 232 students Faculty of Economic, University of Brawijaya. Descriptive statistical methods using frequency distribution, cross tabulation method (crosstabs), and chisquare test of independence are used to analyze data. From this research, it found that there is a tendency of ethnocentrism among students of the Faculty of Economics, University of Brawijaya in selecting at a product. The results also showed that students who have a tendency of ethnocentrism, moderate, and non-ethnocentrism have a positive attitude toward Small and Medium Enterprises. This is evidenced by the students intention to buy Small and Medium Enterprises shoes product, but by considering the factors at affordable prices, quality products, attractive models which is up to date, as well as earned income.Keywords: ethnocentrism tendency, attitudes, intentions

Abstract

The objective of this research is to measure the influence of competitive advantage strategy resources and to the implementation of generic strategy towards furniture small-scale business in Central Java. In details, the objectives f the research are to analyze ad examine (1) the influence of competitive advantage strategy towards the implementation of small-scale generic strategy,(2) the influence of business environment certainty towards competitive advantage strategy and strategy and strategic resources,(3) the influence of competitive advantage strategy towards the performance of small-scale business (4)the influence of business environment certainty towards the implementation of generic strategy of small-scale business,(6) the influence of strategic resource towards the small-scale performance,(7)the influence of strategy implementation towards small-scale business performance. The samples were the 108 small-scale business taken using cluster system from the 248 small-scale business in seven Regency Central Java. The data collecting technique used were structured interview based on the questionnaire and observation. To test the pertern of the cause/effect relationship model having been formed, the researcher used analysis instrument capable of esplaining simultaneousely the Structural (AMOS) Program of 5.00 version. The research result shows that(1) the competitive advantage insignificantly gives positif influence towards the implementation og generic strategy,(2) business environment certainty significantly gives influence towards competitive advantage strategy and strategic generic ,(3) competitive advantage strategy significantly gives positive influence towards business performance,(4) business environment certainty significantly give influence towards business performance,(5) strategic resources significantly give positive influence towards the implementation of generic strategy,(6) strategic resource significantly give positive influence towards business performance, (7) the implementation of generic strategy significantly gives influence towards business performance.Keywords: Competitive advantage strategy business environment , strategic resources, the implementation of generic strategy and business performance.

Abstract

Changing of minimum wage policy option by the actors in 2006 is caused mainly by any change from internal aspects of policy subsystem directly, especially the change of secondary aspects of two advocacy coalition of minimum wage in South Sulawesi. This case mainly influenced from implementation the decentralization aspect where labors or group of labors have also any opportunity to involve in wage policy debate or in the forum of board of Provincial Waging. Furthermore, the Board of Manpower (Dinas Tenaga Kerja) of South Sulawesi Province which is identified as the policy broker has an important role to meet policy subsystem’s different strategies. As a result, conflict of minimum wage between labors and employers can reduce and they can act as a mediator to chooce the wage policy.Keywords: minimum wage, advocacy coalition framework

Abstract

This study focuses especially on the Behavioral Influence Perspective of the non-psychological approach that is still rarely performed. The purpose of this study is to test and to prove empirically whether there are differences in responses based on the difference between the coupons value and the expiration period of coupons. This is conducted in order to determine the conditions when the coupons are effective as a means of sales promotion. The samples of this research are 300 participants and 25 participants for the control group. The research results indicate that instant coupon for all coupon values, and non instant coupon with 25% of the product total value, with a maximum period of 7 days before the expiry date, will have a positive impact when they are given to new customers.Keywords: Coupon Value, expiration period of coupons, Interaction between coupon value and expiration period of coupon, Instant Coupons, non instant coupons

Abstract

The study aimed to find out (1) an opportunity for the improvement of rice production which has not been utilized optimally yet; (2) the farmer’s planting area; (3) agribusiness activities starting from farming, marketing and processing at the first stage in obtaining added value and absorption of labors.The result of the study indicate that the opportunity owned by South Sulawesi when it is used appropriately will provide greater profit compared to import rice, so that it will encourage the improvement of income and the absorption of labors. The farmers have not been able to maximize their income yet due to inefficiency in the utilization of production factors and are irresponsive to the change of rice price.Keywords: Production of Rice, farmers income, Bosowasipilu, South Sulawesi.

Abstract

This research tests the impact of the conflict between shareholder and management regarding dividend policy on accounting conservatism. This conflict is predicted under agency problem on the agency theory that shows conflicts of interest between management (agent) and shareholders (principal). This research also test the difference in accounting conservatism between companies that are managed by owner-manager.This research use regression analysis to test the impact of conflict between shareholder and management regarding dividend policy on accounting conservatism, and using leverage, operating uncertainty, investment opportunity set, and size as control variables. This research used t-test to investigate the difference between companies with owner-manager and non owner-manager.The result of the analysis indicates that the conflict between shareholder and management regarding dividend policy has a positive and statistically significant on accounting conservatism. The result also indicates that non ownermanager companies are more conservative than owner-manager companies.Keywords: dividend policy, conservative, agency problem, and conflicts of interest.

Abstract

The condition of the present-day modern society with its huge advances in science and technology indicates that such advances in very influential for the management of organizations, especially in terms of leadership transformational and performance of the managers in an organization. It means that managing an orphanage should be based on professional leadership. The leadership transformational style of an organization should be able to lead to a process of building a collective and individual effort in mutual cooperation to implement the activities and achieve the common objectives. The question of this research is related to the paradigm of the effect of leadership transformational style, organizational culture and innovation towards performance. This research aims to contribute ideas for the leaders in orphanages in terms of leadership transformational style, organizational culture and organizational performance. Considering the problems of the research, this research can be classified as explanatory research that is a research that aims to describe the relation between variables. This research requires primary and secondary data and the respondent for this research is all leaders of orphanages in the municipality of Tomohon and Regency of Minahasa, altogether 216 respondents. The sample was taken using purposive method. In order to test the impact of each variable, structural equation modeling (SEM) is used. The result of the research shows that there are six points of findings. The result of research shows that leadership transformational styles influence organizational culture, leadership transformational styles influence innovation, organizational culture influence innovation, leadership transformational style is not influence management performance, organizational culture influence management performance, innovation influence management performance. The six findings indicate that the proposed hypotheses are acceptable. This research offer a model of leadership based on review of literature and the proposed model basically emphasizes the importance of a leadership transformational style that is oriented towards innovation, an organizational culture can adapt to innovation, and innovation that always brings renewal of organization to facilitate the achievement of management’s performance.Keywords: Leadership transformational, organizational culture, innovation, performance, adaptation
