Abstract

In reading comprehension depends on three factors. The first factor is that the reader understand the text structure. The second factor is that the reader can perform metacognitive control over the content being read. This means that the reader is able to monitor and reflect on the level of comprehension when reading the material. The third and most important criteria, which affect the understanding is that the reader has sufficient background to the content of the text and vocabulary are presented Tankersley (90-91). Good readers in reading comprehension, will be actively involved and thought processes. Good readers during the reading process will find connections between background knowledge with new information in the text. Readers sift relevant new information or that are not relevant to their background knowledge which is astorehouse of information and life experiences.Kata Kunci: Membaca Pemahaman, Literasi, Pengetahuan Latar, Metakognitif

Abstract

Almost all countries put education as a priority in the context of nation building. Similarly, the nation and state of Indonesia placed education as a strategic value to the advancement of the nation. The passing of the curriculum changes to the curriculum in 2013 SBC 2006 is a real effort on the part of the government to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. Indeed the 2013 curriculum is structured to prepare students to face the challenges of an increasingly complex future. Support of various stakeholders, especially educators is necessary for successfully implementing the curriculum in 2013 in accordance with the plans that have been well established. Therefore, educators as a front line that are directly related to the implementation of the educational program are required to have the readiness and willingness to work in a professional manner. Of course the demands of professional educators should be addressed by improving the qualifications and competence of educators. Moreover, in this era of globalization, the challenges and responsibilities of educators increasingly complex. Abstract

Syntax is a branch of linguistics that discuss the relationship between words in speech , language elements that are included in the scope of syntax is a phrase, clause , sentence . Learn syntax for foreign speakers is not easy , it takes a lot of practice so that students are able to understand the material and found it difficult syntax of the results of the exercises . Difficulties and constraints Indonesian Phrases patterned material or noun - adjective DM , whereas the English phrase patterned MD - noun or adjective , thus allowing the formation of fault Indonesian phrases by foreign speakers . Difficulties in material clauses are any deformities of grammatical tense marker in English into lexical time markers in Indonesian . The existence of multiple forms of predicates in the English language into a form of predicate in Indonesian can actually facilitate foreign learners in learning Indonesian clause for foreign learners do not need to be bothered with the selection predicate forms that must be used . Learning difficulties at the level of sentences for foreign speakers closely associated with a lack of understanding of the concept of morphological. By understanding the difficulties experienced by the learners experienced difficulties in practice able to be overcome by focusing on the difficulties faced by learners.Keywords :syntactic learning for foreign speakers

Abstract

The middle warm terms discussed in education related to the change of curriculum KTSP (2006) into the curriculum in 2013 that the scientific approach, text-based learning, and Indonesian as the tractor all subject. However, when examined more deeply, especially for Indonesian subjects, is more focused on aspects of creativity and literacy skills of students. Creativity and literacy skills into a foundation thatshould be owned by everyone, because both can lead a nation towards progress. In other words, a person's creativity and literacy skills can be used as a parameter to measure the quality of education that will ultimately determine the quality of human resources. Someone literacy skills, one of which will appear on the ability to read and write. Reading and writing is an activity that involves creativity, because both  the language skills of a creative activity. Reading and writing are like two sides of a coin can not be separated each other and influence each other. Therefore, reading and writing should be provided in an integrated. This paper will raise about creativity in teaching literacy literary texts. Why literature? Because in the literature will be full of educational values and character. Abstract

Literary work is not born out of the void culture. Literary works can not be regarded as a mere fiction. Charge meanings into one literary charm. Learning literature always cause problems. Ranging from limited knowledge of the teacher to the position of literary works for students. The low ability of interpretation of a literary work of teachers and students is also a problem in the learning literature. Literary works to bring the mission to inculcate noble values and shape the character of his readers. Through literature teachers can shape the attitudes and character of students. Alienation literature for students is a problem that has occurred at this time. Literary works have a close relationship with culture. Literature was born from the culture of literature also reflects the culture. How many local wisdom drawn from the culture. One example of literary works are full of cultural values is rhyme. Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the method show not tell in the process of learning to write short stories for the improvement of learning outcomes to write a short story using the Show Not Tell the students of class XI High School DDI Alliritengae Maros. This research is an action research conducted in two cycles. The data source of this research is an Indonesian teacher and students as many as 30 people. Data collection techniques used were observation and tests. The data in this study of the data and the data of the learning process of learning to write short stories using the Show Not Tell. Data were analyzed with the learning process qualitative descriptive techniques, while learning outcome data were analyzed with descriptive quantitative techniques. Learning outcomes through the method of writing short stories Show Not Tell in the first cycle reaches an average value of 59.17, while in the second cycle reached an average value of 80.37. Difference in the average value of 21.1 students. The average value of higher students in the second cycle than the first cycle, the results indicate an increase in learning to write short stories.Keywords: learning, writing, short stories, Show Not Tell.
