Abstract

In my article, I will dissect the problem of the relationship between abstract and figurative painting in contemporary Indonesian art in a new Hungarian approach and position. The article is based on my own experience, research and studies, in which I will discuss the Hungarian parallels that I noticed during my time in Indonesia. The research refers to personal experiences gained by visiting the fine art galleries seen in Yogyakarta. The aforementioned and seen galleries and the works of art seen there will be presented. As a main element, the importance of discovering the Hungarian-Indonesian relationship examined in contemporary art appears, and we can also delve into the differences in the detail of abstract painting, figurative painting. This abstract-figurative relationship will be examined both in the Hungarian contemporary art aspect and in the Indonesian contemporary art aspect. The gesture management, color analysis and surface treatment of abstract painting are contrasted and examined with the detail, space management and conceptuality of figurative painting. Several different local works will be analyzed, which can be found in the galleries listed later.

Abstract

Interpretation with the hermeneutic theory of the artwork entitled Phantom by Peter Lik which is known as one of the most expensive photographic works. The analytical method used is Gadamer's hermeneutical theory to interpret meaning based on the visual appearance and conceptual background of Phantom. In contemporary photographic works, they are presented as representations of multiple realities which are analyzed using hermeneutic methods. The object of research is interpreted as a text from an image that has layers of meaning whose essence is extracted and identified from the text analysis process and the creation process. The theory of Gadamer is used because it is a philosophical hermeneutic that frees from aesthetic and methodological boundaries, and develops the universal ability of humans to understand. Artwork plays an important role in understanding hermeneutics. Gadamer calls it reproductive art, so that discussion through works of art can take him further to question the interpretation of texts/discourses, history, and traditions. Hermeneutic discussion is a way that allows one to make an understanding of the claim of understanding to give meaning to a work. The results of hermeneutic extraction produce an interpretive study of Phantom's work which is full of meaning from historical studies, social arts, even branding, and success in creating publicity. The study of the Phantom photo object is expected to provide positive benefits for the development of photography, especially academically.

Abstract

Abstract

Instagram is an image-based social media that provides online photo or video sharing services. In the art world, Instagram occupies the top position for modern artists to publish their work. However, there is very little information about the features of the art that are most in demand, and what role is present in the interaction between artists and followers in the works of art that are most favored. Starting from a Greek myth, the Pygmalion effect was finally developed in the real world by Robert Rosenthal who later gave birth to the theory: Self-fulfilling Prophecy. This study extends research on social media interactions in the art world which is important for research on the interactive psychology of artwork and digital marketing communications in social media. This article uses qualitative and artistic research methods to analyze the interaction between artists and followers on Instagram and the most preferred features of the artwork using the Pygmalion effect as a theoretical basis. Is there feedback between the artist and his followers? How big is the impact of the Pygmalion effect on the artist's interest in work or productivity?

Abstract

The creation of this paintings explains the effort to bring back the meaning summarized in one concept of the Living Qur'an into the form of a painting. The effort made is to perceive, interpret and explore the form of the Qur'an according to personal interpretation by involving the imagination of its cultural awareness in the process of creating a painting. After receiving, the ideas that are born are transformed into visual forms of painting by using abstractions that are closely related to the noble values of the Qur'an. While the problems that are responded to in the work talk about the noble value of the existence of the verses of the Qur'an that live in society, both from ancestors to today's society. In this context, the creation that is conveyed cannot be separated from the historical, myth, belief, cultural and social context in the area where the author was born, namely the village of Bagelen Bagelen, Purworejo. The concept of creating this final project is divided into three types, namely the writer's reception of the Qur'an, the reception of the letters of the Qur'an, and the reception of the Qur'anic culture. This creation is an attempt to reflect on these historical phenomena, such as the tradition of tahlilan, mapati, akikah, to the rajahs that have been passed down from generation to generation from their parents. Konsep penciptaan tugas akhir ini terbagi dalam tiga macam, yaitu resepsi penulis atas Al- Qur’an, resepsi atas huruf-huruf Al-Qur’an, dan resepsi atas kebudayaan Al-Qur’an.

Abstract

"Nguseup" in Indonesian means fishing. Activities usually carried out in rural communities are increasingly becoming a culture that always occurs in every generation. Likewise, what happened to the people of Cibirubeet Village considering the rural geographical conditions that allowed it to happen. The village whose geographical location is flanked by hills and rice fields where all activities are inseparable from the natural life around. So fishing activities are always carried out either to meet food needs or fill the void of mere time. Later there was a problem when some of the rivers flowing in the village no longer produce fish, including the indifference to throwing garbage in some of the river streams. I see this as something that can't be left alone. So direct action by trying to merge with socio-cultural activities in this village is carried out as part of the method of this art project. I assume this "Nguseup" is a conscious art project, hoping that this socio-cultural activity becomes a reflection of the environment with all its life force.
