Abstract

This study aims to determine the combination of optimal portfolios on plantation sub-sector and banking sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, which is undertaken by looking at the level of the expected return and risk (standard deviation) generated by a combination of the portfolio each year. The main issue raised in this research is how the combination of the optimal portfolio can be formed from plantation sub-sector and banking sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2010-2014. The research applied Coefficient of Variation (CV) as a research method to determine the probability of shares in each sub-sector for each company combined, as well as efficient portfolio, so that the optimal portfolio can be formed easily. The results show that the determination of the portfolio using the optimal portfolio yield probability SMAR shares of 0.05 or 5% and the probability of SDRA shares of 0.95 or 95% to portfolio risk by 0.460 and the expected return of the portfolio amounted to 0.393. The portfolio combination that is not optimal produces probability GZCO shares amounting to -0.19% and the probability of SDRA shares of 1.19% to portfolio risk and return expectations of 0.472 at 0.569.

Abstract

This study determines simultaneous and partial influence of intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence on academic achievement of Management Department Students of 2013 and 2014 at the Faculty of Economics, Tadulako University. The type of research is quantitative and sampling technique applies purposive sampling, with a total sample of 83 respondents consisting of 36 students of class 2013 and 47 students of class of 2014. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of this study show that the variables intelligence (X1) and emotional intelligence (X2) simultaneously influence academic achievement (Y) with sig. value of0.000 <0.05. Furthermore, variable intellectual intelligence (X1) with sig. value of 0.003, and Emotional Intelligence (X2) with sig is 0,001 that showing partial influences on academic achievement (Y).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the influence of affective commitment variable (X1), continuous Commitment (X2), and Normative commitment (X3) at PT. Radio Nebula Nada in Palu City. Hypothesis test used has significance level of ? =0.05 and for the reliability test using cronbach alpha coefficient values with the limit value coefficient of ?=0.60. The results of multiple linear regression analysis show that the variables of affective commitment (X1) and the continous commitment (X2), normative commitment (X3) simultaneously have positive and significant influence on the performance of employees at PT. Radio Nebula Nada in Palu with the adjusted R- square of 32.6%. Partially, with standard ? = 0.05, X1, X2, and X3 partially have significant influence on Y with sig. value of 0.016, 0.086, and 0.015, respectively. The results show that correlation coefficient of 0.627, means that affective commitment, continuous commitment, and normative commitment have strong relationship with the employee's performance of 62.7%.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of brand awareness and brand experience on the brand preferences of Vitalis perfume in Tadulako University. The type of this research is explanatory. The population in this study focuses on students that consume Vitalis perfume in Tadulako University. The sampling technique applied is purposive sampling technique, with a total sample of 90 respondents. Data collection method is questionnaires. Method of analysis is path analysis. The results of the test show that brand awareness and brand experience have positive and significant influence on brand preference of Vitalis perfume in Tadulako University. Brand experience has positive and significant influence on brand preference of Vitalis perfume in Tadulako University.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine simultaneous and partial influence of trust brand on the loyalty of student of the Faculty of Economics, Tadulako University, Palu to buy Pantene Shampoo. Sampling method in this research is purposive sampling; with a total sample of 96 respondents. The results of hypothesis testing using F-test show that the three independent variables that are brand trust(X) consisting of brand characteristics (X1), the characteristics of the company (X2) and the characteristics of customers with the brand (X3) simultaneously have positive and significant influence on the dependent variable customer loyalty (Y) with sig-F of 0.000 <0.05. Furthermore, the brand characteristic variable (X1) with sig 0,001, characteristic of the company (X2) with sig of 0.001, and characteristics of customers to the brand value of sig 0.004 <0.05, which shows partial influence on customer loyalty variable (Y). R2 values of 0.645 and brand belief variable (X) simultaneously influence customer loyalty (Y) of 64.5%, while the remaining 35.5% is influenced by other factors that are not examined.

Abstract

This study proves the influence of working capital turnover (turnover of cash, accounts receivable turnover, inventory turnover) on net income (SHU) at the Civil Servants Cooperative of Republic of Indonesia (KPNRI) in Palu in 2011-2014. The data in this study is time series data in the form of financial statements, which consist of data on the balance sheet and profit/loss or SHU in four consecutive years of 2011-2014 of KPNRI in Palu City. Research sample is 12 cooperatives selected with purposive sampling technique. Model of analysis is multiple linear regressions analysis. The research proves that rotation of working capital includes cash turnover, accounts receivable turnover, inventory turnover simultaneously have significant influence on the SHU with f-value of 5.951 and significance level of 0.002 <? 0.05. Partially, cash turnover positively has significant influence on SHU with t-value of 2.184 with a significant value of 0.034 <? 0.05, receivable turnover has non- significant influence on the SHU with t-value of 2.595 with significance value of 0.180> ? of 0.05, inventory turnover significantly has negative influence on SHU with t-value of -2.650 and significance value of 0.004 <? 0.05.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the influence of dividend announcement on stock prices and abnormal return in the services industries listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange. This study is descriptive-quantitative. The research methods used are simple linear regression and paired T-test or Two sample T-test for comparing the two means. The result of the first hypothesis that is dividend increases variable shows significant influence on stock prices with the value of t-count is 2.876 > the value of t-table 1.667 and dividends decreases with t-count value of 0.858 < the value of t-table 1.696, proves the second hypothesis shows no significant influence on stock prices. Then the third hypothesis which states that dividend increases influence the abnormal return before and after the dividend announcement has t-count value of 7.22 > t-table is 2.776; and the fourth hypothesis that states that dividend decreases the abnormal return before and after dividend announcement showd t-count 0.416< t-table 2.776. This indicates that the fourth hypothesis in this study has no significant influence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of growth, efficiency, effectiveness, and contribution of the hotel tax on the local tax in Palu. The data used in this study is primary and secondary tax data from 2010 until 2014. The research is conducted at the Department of Local Revenue, Finance, and Asset Management (DPPKAD) of Palu. The analytical tool used is the analysis of the growth, efficiency analysis, analysis of effectiveness, and analysis contributions. The results suggest that the growth of tax collection in Palu City is 52.73% the percentage seems to increase but the percentage fluctuates. Tax collection in Palu City in the period of 2010-2014 is very effective, which is proved that the hotel tax realization can be achieved over 100% with the level of effectiveness of 133.05%. The efficiency rate of the hotel tax is very efficient with the efficiency rate of 0.05 or 5%. Hotel tax contribution on the local tax of Palu City in 2010-2014 is 8.16%, which means that the local tax revenue of 8.61% in Palu, comes from the hotel tax.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to find out and analyze the influence of product quality on decision-making, both simultaneously and partially. The research is verificative. The sample involves consumers of Agya car at PT. Hadji Kalla. The analysis tool used is multiple linear regression analysis. The result of regression equation from the study is -2.887 + 0,237 X1+ 0,220X2 + 0,217X3 + 0,319X4 + 0,166X5 + 0,418X6 + 0,140X7. Product Quality partially has significant to decision-making.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain explanative findings of (1) simultaneous influence of own capital, loan capital, and business volume on SHU, (2) partial influence own capital on SHU, and (3) the partial influence of capital loans on SHU in Savings and Loans Cooperatives in Palu City. The subject of this study is the Savings and Loans Cooperatives in Palu, with research objects of own capital, loan capital, and SHU from 2010-2014. The type of data is quantitative. Data collection method is documentary recording and analyzed with multiple linear regressions. The results shows that: (1) simultaneously, there is a positive and significant influence of own capital and borrowed capital on cooperatives? SHU with F-value of 6.421; (2) partially, there is a positive and significant influence of own capital on SHU with t-value of 2.788; and (3) partially, there is a positive and significant influence of loan capital against SHU t-value of 3.349 on savings and loan cooperatives in Palu.
