Abstract

The prevalence of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is increasing in both developed and developing countries. Uncontrolled risk factors such as smoking, hypertension, and fewer activities are the main causes of ACS recurrence within 30 days after the acute presentation. This study aims to analyze risk factors related to the recurrence rate of ACS patients in Pakraman and non-Pakraman villages in Buleleng Regency, Bali Province. Observational analytics with Cross-Sectional Study are used in this study involving 130 patients within 1 month. Data is collected through two (2) stages using a questionnaire. The bivariate analysis shows that both smoking groups (p = 0.003 and p = 0.008) and hypertension groups (p = 0.02 and p = 0.01) are associated with ACS recurrence, while physical activity groups are not related (p = 0.455 and p = 0.565). Logistic regression results show that smoking (5.633) is highly associated with ACS recurrence in Pakraman villages, while hypertension (4.784) is highly associated with ACS recurrence in non-Pakraman villages. ACS handling is important in the acute period and in the long-term to prevent the risk of recurrence.

Abstract

Uceng fish (Nemacheilus fasciatus) is a fish that lives wild on the river. All this time, the people have only relied on fishing from nature to consume, but the high market demand for fish will increase river fishing activities in excess. One of the steps to suppress the decline in fish populations is domestication because currently, the fish is not yet cultivated. The domestication process by feeding worms containing amino acids and fatty acids accelerates broodstock candidates' gonadal development. This research aims to determine the type of worms suitable as feed for the growth and gonadal development of broodstock candidates. The method that used in this research is Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 repetitions. Based on the analysis of amino acids and fatty acids in each type of worm, the best results were obtained on Lumbricus rubellus with an amino acid content of 50.91 gr/100gr and fatty acid 292.27%.

Abstract

Ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) is a type of rhizome plant that has high potential to be developed in Indonesia as a medicinal plant or spice. Inhibiting factors in ginger production is Ralstonia solanacearum which causes bacterial wilt disease. Rhizobacteria is a potential biological agent to control the disease. It is necessary to review from various study on rhizobacteria both the use of antagonistic bacteria singly or in a consortia. Aimed to analyze various sources of scientific literature regarding the potential of antagonistic bacteria singly or consortia compared to synthetic bactericides in controlling of R. solanacearum. The results showed that three recommended antagonist bacteria were found, namely Pseudomonas fluorescens, Bacillus subtilis, and Bacillus thuringiensis. which has the potential to control bacterial wilt disease. The rhizobacterial consortia are more effective as a sustainable, safe and environmentally friendly control on bacterial wilt disease with a percentage of disease incidence 10%. In addition, the rhizobacterial consortia are three and six times more effective than the single antagonistic bacteria and bactericides respectively.

Abstract

Several studies of marine bioactive compounds have been carried out using seagrass. Enhalus acoroides is a type of seagrass that has bioactive compounds including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, steroids, and saponins that have potential as an antibacteria. The aim of study is to investigate the phytochemical compound contained in the crude extract of Enhalus acoroides and its antibacterial activities of Enhalus acoroides against Staphylococcus aureus. The seagrass was collected, washed, dried, grind and exposed to extraction by vacum rotary evaporator at temperature of 40°C and was analyzed for their phytoconstituents. Further, the crude extract was tested against pathogenic bacterial at different concentrations using disc diffusion method to determine the effect of bioactive compounds in E. acoroides to bacteria. In the present study, qualitative test of phytochemical from ethanol extract of Enhalus acoroides leaves contained phytochemical compound of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, steroids and saponins, while the extract of roots contained all of compounds except saponins. Based on research can be concluded, that Enhalus acoroides also has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus that showed by the presence of inhibition zone. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the nutritional composition of the degree of hydrolysis and amino acids in the internal organ waste of tuna and the protein hydrolyzate of tuna's internal organs after fermentation using the Bacillus licheniformis bacteria. The analysis showed that the protein content of tuna offal was 53.52%, and after fermentation by Bacillus licheniformis, bacteria were able to increase protein levels from 56.04. The degree of hydrolysis of protein (DH) showed an increase of 13.24% in tuna offal to 22.28% of protein hydrolyzates are fermented tuna innards. The total essential amino acids and non-essential amino acids in the fermented tuna innards' protein hydrolyzates increased during the fermentation process. The highest levels of essential amino acids were found in arginine as high as 3.632965 at the 96th hour, and the lowest histidine was 1.082602. In contrast, for the highest non-essential amino acids, there was glycine at 8.52223, and the lowest for tyrosine was 1.272592.
