Abstract

Epoxy adhesive has been used widely in automotive and aircraft industry because it has the characteristics of a good joint in the structure of the component. The addition of the powder material on epoxy adhesive affect to the crack propagation behavior on the joint. It also affects to the peel and shear strength of the joint. A real experimental study of peeling and tearing test was used in this study. It aims to determine the effect of the type of powder material on crack propagation behavior and also peel and shear strength of the adhesive joint. The independent variable of this study is without powder and with powders (aluminum, iron ore, silica). The dependent variable is the crack propagation behavior and peel and shear strength. The results of the investigation shown that the addition of powder material either metal or non-metal on the epoxy adhesive joint affect on the maximum force and the displacement. In addition, it can also increase the peel and shear strength. In the peeling test, mixture of adhesive and cohesive fracture was occurred. And in the tearing test, fracture adhesive was dominated.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country of law. As law states, Indonesian have regulations that govern the relationship between the communities, one of them is criminal law. Set of rules of criminal law is written in the Kitab Undang-undang Hukum Pidana (KUHP), which contains hundreds of clause which regulate the relationship between the community based on values, norms, and specific rules that focuses on the interests of the public. In this paper, information retrieval used to search the clause of the KUHP based on a description of the crime, using Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI). LSI adopts techniques in mathematical dimension reduction process Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). This system use 60 clause as training data, and 6 query or crime description as test data. In each of the data clause of the KUHP contained data such as clause number, clause, and the clause contents. The system will calculate and determine the relevant clause is based on  query or  description of the crimes that has been entered. Cosine similarity used to calculate the similarity or proximity clause KUHP with query. The performance of the system is shown by the test results of Mean Average Precision (MAP) value at each k-rank is 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 59, with the highest performance is in k-rank 40 with MAP 0.8944.

Abstract

To detect the presence of free radicals in materials, a traditional Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) requires repeating setting values of the external magnetic field (B0)  as well as the frequency of microwave signal (u) to achieve resonance conditions, and it must be conducted manually. The procedure requires considerable time, so that become ineffective. In this paper, we propose a simple technique to improve the functionality of the traditional ESR by implementation of ramp-type magnetic field and high-speed data acquisition system. In here, we generate ramp-type voltage signal based on PIC16F876 microcontroller as the main device. This signal is converted to the current source by using the circuit of V to I converter, then injected to the Helmholtz coil to generate a ramp-type magnetic field. Some experiments are carried out in order to make validation and determine the performance of the developed system. By the technique, the traditional ESR becomes an automatic ESR-spectrometer and has the capability to identify some kinds of free radicals faster. Keywords: ESR, free-radical, ramp-B.

Abstract

The use of high-resolution remote sensing image data is necessary to distinguish essential plants with other plants. This study uses image data taken using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to identify essential plants especially citronella and kaffir lime. To distinguish the structure of essential plants with other objects used texture features extracted by wavelet daubechies method. The features that have been ekstract, then is grouped based on the proximity feature with the Self Organizing Map (SOM) Neural Network. Thus, objects that have similar features will clump together. The tests were conducted on two groups of data sets,  where the first group data consisted of plants, buildings and vacant lots, while the second group data consisted only of plants. The results of testing of the first data group shows that the techniques can recognize the citronella plants among other objects, especially building objects and bare land with purity of 0.862745 and Silhouette Coeficient of 0.5520671. While in the second data group, the value of purity and Silhouette Coeficient decreased to 0.737705 and 0.161028. However, from  the test of the second data group still shows that the method used can distinguish citronella crops to other plants.

Abstract

Milkfish is an aquaculture product and has a role in supporting food security and nutrition in Indonesia. The reliability of milkfish farming will be able to increase the income of small and medium-scale farmers. Milkfish farmers in SMEs level experience problem of declining prices in the period of oversupply in farming. Moreover, the profit earning by the farmers tend to decrease time to time. This research was mapping the structure of milkfish downstream supply chain using system dynamic simulation. The first step in mapping process was identifying the actors in the milkfish downstream supply chain. The next stage was defining activities and variables that affect supply chain milkfish profit. The activities and variables were used to develop a causal loop diagram (CLD). Furthermore, stock and flow diagram was constructed based on CLD and used as system dynamic simulator of milkfish supply chain. The result of system dynamic simulation showed the profit obtained by each actor in milkfish supply chain and a total profit of the entire supply chain. The profit, gained by supply chain in the current configuration, during the period 2016-2020, is Rp72.615.608.004,00. According to the simulation result, the proposed scenario will be able to increase the profit of supply chain up to 27,58%.

Abstract

Human population growth has rapidly conversed the natural environment into agricultural and plantation area in Indonesia. This phenomenon resulted a reduction and fragmentation habitats, and led to the loss of biodiversity. By exploring Wonosobo, we were able to analyse the herpetofauna composition on three different habitat, including river, salak plantation [Salacca zalacca (Gaert.) Voss], and paddy fields. We identified 17 species (60,7%) from river, 15 species (53,6%) from paddy field, and 13 species (46,4%) from salak plantation. Shannon-wiener index diversity (H’) categorized herpetofauna diversity in all three habitats as medium. Meanwhile, the evenness index (E) showed that herpetofauna community in river classified as unstabile (E=0.7302). River was predicted be functioned as transit area for herpetofauna to hunt. There were no herpetofauna species predominating all three habitats, and this indicating that the ecosystem balance was well preserved. This study revealed that agriculture and plantation area affected the herpetofauna composition, yet it still able to maintain the diversity well. In addition, the water bodies, including river and irrigation in agriculture and plantation area, should be maintained its quality as it plays an important part in herpetofauna conservation. Keywords: fragmentation, herpetofauna composition, habitat

Abstract

Indonesia a potential market for business because of a large number of smartphone users, especially developers of mobile applications. Each application stores allow the user to provide a review of the application used. The review is not only beneficial for prospective users of the application but also beneficial for the application developer. Review of the applications that are influenced by emotion (sentiment) are grouped or classified to determine positive and negative polarization. Therefore, it is necessary to have an application that can perform sentiment analysis for the mobile app reviews using Neighbor-Weighted K-Nearest Neighbor (NWKNN) classification method with high accuracy results. NWKNN method is able to classify mobile application review documents on the balanced data with current value of k = 20 gives the best f-measure average value of 0.9 with ratio of training data and test data 80%: 20%. However, for the imbalanced data with value of k = 45 gives the best f-measure average value of 0.797 with a ratio of training data and test data 80%: 20%. Based on the results, the effect of imbalanced data to  the accuracy of the NWKNN methods by comparing NWKNN and KNN methods, it was found that the value of F-Measure NWKNN method is better than KNN method with gap of 0,27, due to the added weight on class minority overcome misclassification problem on minority class.

Abstract

This research discusses the principles of measuring the electrical impedance of a solution using parallel plate probe. The method used is by injecting an AC-current in the solution within the frequency range of 1Hz - 1MHz. The electrical impedance value plotted as a function of frequency. The results of the experiment showed that the electrical impedance of a solution could be measured correctly by using this method. The surface area of the probe, the distance between the probe, and the frequency of the injected AC-current, giving the measured impedance value changes significantly. This method also proved to be used to identify the value of the concentration of the sugar solution with relatively good accuracy. The experiment results demonstrate conformity with the existing theory
