Abstract

Penelitian in bertujuan untuk mengukur pengaruh penggunaan teknik Berfikir-Berpasangan-Berbagi terhadap keterampilan berbicara dan motivasi belajar bahasa Inggris kelas XI siswa SMA Negeri 5 Palu. Metodenya adalah penelitian quasy experimental dengan rancangan non-equivalent kontrol grup desain. Sample penelitian dipilih secara purposive, di mana peneliti secara sengaja memilih kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan tes untuk mengukur kemampuan siswa berbicara dan kuisioner untuk mengukur motivasi siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode deskriptif dan statistik uji-t. Data yang diperoleh melalui tes dianalisis dan diuji statistik melalui SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 15.0. Berdasarkan analisis data dari kemampuan siswa berbicara dan motivasi siswa. Ditemukan bahwa nilai rata-rata dari keterampilan berbicara kelas eksperimen (73.50) lebih besar dari kelas kontrol (68). Hasil perbandingan melalui uji-t menunjukkan nilai thitung = 3.355 > nilai ttable = 2.002. Selanjutnya, untuk motivasi siswa, nilai rata-rata kelompok eksperimen adalah 42 dan kelas kontrol adalah 39.37. Hasil perbandingan motivasi siswa melalui uji-t menunjukkan nilai thitung = 2.362 > nilai ttable = 2.002. Sehingga, Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Dengan kata lain, penggunaan teknik berfikir-berpasangan-berbagi dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan siswa berbicara dan motivasi siswa. Abstract

Presuppositions are studied to determine the intents of a discourse or speech. Presuppositions are assumptions or implicit interferences in certain linguistic expressions. Every conversation always uses levels of communication and implicit or explicit presuppositions or illocutionary. By making the right presuppositions, communicative values expressed in a speech can be quickly understood. The more precise the presuppositions are hypothesized, the higher the value of communication or speech. Conversely, errors in presuppositions affect the speech that may cause uncommunicative coherence. The characteristic of presupposition is something that is assumed by the speakers as the events before generating a speech. The basic characteristic of presupposition is the nature of constancy under negation. It has the intention that the presumption of a statement will remain steady (still true) although the sentence is used as a negative statement or negation. Types of presupposition are: (1) potential presuppositions, (2) factual presuppositions, (3) non-factual presuppositions, (4) lexical presuppositions, (5) structural presuppositions, (6) counterfactual presuppositions. Abstract

The Problem of the research 1) How was the application of training methods to improve the ability of reading aloud of the third grade students of SDN 5 Kayumalue, Te researh aimed to describe the reading aloud ability through training methods of the third grade students of SDN 5 Kayumalue North Palu Subdistrict. This research was a classroom action research and the subjects of the research was the third grade students of SDN 5 Kayumalue North Palu Subdistrict. The research was conducted in two cycles, the research results showed that 1) the application of the training method in reading aloud learning the third grade students of SDN 5 Kayumalue North Palu based on the results of observation of student activity cycle I found unsatisfactory percentage (70%) and observation of the teacher activity (71.06%). In the second cycle, it has increased, the observation of the students have a satisfactory percentage (91.67%), while the results of the teachers activity observation were very satisfying (93.4%). 2) The result of applying the training method in reading aloud learning of the third grade students of SDN 5 Kayumalue, it could be seen from the results of the readong aloud test of the training methods in the first cycle was 72.60%. Based on students' acquisition value after the application of the training method in the first cycle was 16 students, there were 8 students who have achieved the criteria of succes (75) and 8 students who have not reached the Criteria of Succes. The factors causing cycle I, the students still found difficulty in reading aloud in aspects of pronunciation, intonation and pause.  in the second cycle, there was a change in learning outcomes, the students who got score above the criteria of succes were  16 students with a success percentage of 91.15%. Therefore, this classroom action research showed that the application of the training method could improve the ability of reading aloud of the students. It was proved by more than 75% of the students could read aloud and achieved the criteria of succes (75). Keywords: Reading Aloud Ability, Motivation, Training Method.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan keterampilan menulis mahasiswa khususnya dalam mengorganisasi ide dengan menerapkan belajar mandiri. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tahun ke-dua Jurusan Bahasa Inggris Universita Madako yang terdiri dari 23 mahasiswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari, perencanaan, penerapan, observasi, dan refleksi. Kriteria keberhasilan adalah ≥80% jumlah mahasiswa harus mencapai ≥65. Siklus pertama menunjukkan bahwa kurang dari 80% mahasiswa yang mencapai kriteria; oleh karena itu perbaikan perencanaan untuk siklus ke 2 dilakukan. Hasil siklus ke 2 menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 80% mahasiswa memperoleh skor ≥65 dan oleh sebab itu siklus di hentikan karena kriteria ketuntasan telah dicapai dan itu berarti bahwa penerapan beljar mandiri effektif untuk mengembangkan keterampilan menulis mahasiswa. Abstract

The problems examined in this study 1) how the application of methods to improve reading ability SQ3R extensive class VIII SMPN 1 Kasimbar F, 2) how the increased ability to read extensively by applying the method SQ3R F class VIII SMPN 1 Kasimbar. There is also the purpose of this study 1) aims to describe the application of methods to improve reading ability SQ3R extensive class VIII SMPN 1 Kasimbar F, 2) aims to describe the results of an extensive improvement of reading skills by applying the method SQ3R F class VIII SMPN 1 Kasimbar, this study performed two cycles, ie cycle I and cycle II with a target value of the average grade of at least 75 individual kentutasan and classical minimal 80. This research uses a follow-class research. This research uses design research model Kemmis and MC. Tagart, this research is done through the process of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection cycle I and II using the test techniques and nontes. Based on the results of the assessment cycle I and cycle II is to determine the contents of paragraph earn 87 rose to 116, determines the content of the news equation 71 rose to 109, determines the difference of news content 85 rose to 111, specify the appropriate information ADIKSIMBA news ketercapain 76 students rose to 114, and concluded 76 news content rose to 105 with the average value of 61.71% first cycle classes. Students who otherwise completed as many as 4 people or 12.5% and students who otherwise did not complete as many as 28 people or 87.5% of the vote the first cycle the average value obtained grade students only reached 64.84% with a classical mastery 18.75 %. Sisklus I read the test results extensively through SQ3R methods have not been successful otherwise. Learning outcomes extensive reading cycle II has demonstrated success with an average grade of 86.25% or completeness mecapai classically by 90.62%. From these findings it can be seen that there is a significant increase from the first cycle to the second cycle so that it can be concluded learning to read extensively by applying SQ3R methods can be improved. It is evident from the first cycle to the second cycle of completeness students increased to 72.37%, so that the target value of KKM can be realized. Keywords: reading extensive, the method SQ3R
