Abstract

Asphalt concrete pavement mix should use material that meets specifications. Road construction in Morowali Regency uses material from Stone Crushero of Bahomante River and Lasampi River from Morowali. The purpose of this research is to understand the characteristic of HRS pavement mixture using Stone Crusher material of Bahomante River and River Lasampi. Determination of aggregate composition on HRS mixture was using sieve method. The gradation used in this study is the ideal gradation. The determination of optimum asphalt content (PKAO) was made using 6 variations of asphalt contents that are 6.0%, 6.5%, 7.0%, 7.5%, 8.0% and 8.5%. Characteristic  testing using Marshall tools. The results of this study shows that the HRS mixture using the Stone Crusher material of the Bahomante River has hight density and stability compared to the mixture of HRS which uses a mixture of Stone Crusher material of Bahomante River and Lasampi River. The study also found that the KAO blend of HRS using Stone Crusher material Bahomante tends to be similar to that of a mixed HRS KAO that uses a combination of Stone Crusher material of Bahomante River and Lasampi River.

Abstract

As the plantation area, Donggala Kodi with mountainous topography made this region becomes an obstacle for farming people in which the function of the channel to deliver water from the river to the plantation area is not properly functioned. Tertiary channel of Donggala Kodi will highly possible to experience scour or erosion at the base of the channel, due to the large angle of the channel bottom slope so that the water velocity in the channel  increased. This study aims to determine the performance of tertiary channel of Donggala Kodi. The research process begins with the collection of data which is then analyzed to evaluate the performance of tertiary channel. Donggala Kodi tertiary channel are using channel masonry 4,82 m/s, 5,49 m/s, 5,69 m/s, 5,61 m/s, 0,89 m/s, 5,03 m/s, 2,98 m/s, 3,76 m/s that its requirement maximum speed is 2.00 m/s and the minimum speed is 0.25 m/s. So it can be seen that the flow rate of the tertiary irrigation channel of Donggala Kodi do not meet the standards set by Standard Guidelines for  Irrigation Planning Criteria Planning Section Channel KP-03, 2013.

Abstract

Understanding and knowledge of the important factors, either positive or negative, that influencing female workers on construction job can be used to prepare a strategy to reduce inefficiency and to increase effectiveness of the project performance in order to reduce cost overrun and schedule delay in construction project. The aim of this study is to understand the most influential factors that affect the female workers’ productivity on the construction job. This study uses Relative Rank Index (RRI) method to determine the most influential factors that affect the female workers’ productivity on the construction job and this study also uses Spearmans Rank correlation method to find out the significance of the hypothesis of the associative influencing factors. Data collecting is done by literature study, questioners, and interviewing construction experts. The study results show that based on the contractors’ perception, the most influential factors that affect the female workers’ productivity on the construction job are age, salary, working permit, and family commitment. There is a good correlation between family commitment factor and age, salary and working permit factors.

Abstract

The condition or shape of location of construction is often present in a non-flat terrain. Excavation and dumping of soil usually required in this condition that will result on formation of the slope. The slopes can be made steeper with the help of reinforcement such as by using geotextile, steel and other materials. For small or medium scale construction palm fiber sheet can be used as alternative material. Palm fibers are natural organic fibers that have beneficial properties such as resistant to the influence of solar heat and cold weather, resistant to weathering, and not easily rotten and durable so  it can be used as an option for use as a construction material. This study aims to study the potential use of palm fibers as an alternative material for reinforcement material, especially on the slopes. Palm fibers material used in this research are materials that form a natural fiber sheet. The slope model is formed in a test tub with a width of 30 cm and a height of 80 cm. Sand from Pondo River with 50% of relative density is used as slope forming material. The results showed that the reinforced slopes with fiber sheets with 20 cm vertical spacing and 100 cm length of reinforcement on the test model were able to carry a load of 40 kN at 25 mm (1 inch) settlement, and reach 60 kN at 37.5 mm ( 1 ½ inches) settlement

Abstract

Tadulako  University  as one of  the state  universities  in the province  of  Central  Sulawesi  has  experienced rapid  development.    Physical  growth  that  continues  to  grow  along  with  its  academic  development causes  the movement of traffics activity to participate in the increase. This can cause negative impacts such as high pollution levels, vehicle density and high accident rates often occur in the campus area. This  study aims  to analyze  the  transportation system within the Tadulako University Campus. It is expected that with this research it can be obtained the description of  traffic  problems  that  occurred  in  the campus of Tadulako University includes network system and  road geometry, parking  and  analyzing the  policies  of  traffic  that  is  currently applied  in  the  campus of Tadulako University. Traffic surveys show that motorcycle users account for 66.8% and automobiles 33.2%. Geometric survey shows that the road in the campus  is  relatively good because almost all  roads have been  structured with asphalt with one way road  system. Survey on parking location also indicate that arrangement of parking space at some faculty are required so that vehicle not parked at road body. Further research is necessary to calculate the need for parking space.

Abstract

The Miu basin is one of the watersheds located in Sigi District, Central Sulawesi province with an area of 10,471,71 km2. In the last few years, Miu basin frequently got flood disaster and sediment. The change of watershed response to rain due to land use change is pointed to be the cause of frequent floods. It is necessary to overcome the frequent flooding in Miu basin by conducting hydrological analysis to determine the peak discharge change due to land use change. In this study, the analysis of the area of  rain with Polygon Thiessen Method was conducted with the help of ArcGIS 10.3 software. ArcGIS 10.3 software is also used to analyze land use change. The process of diversing the rain into a stream by calculating the effective rainfall (Peff) using the Soil Conservation Service-Curve Number (SCS-CN) Method. For Design Flood is calculated by the Nakayasu HSS Method. The research shows that the value of Curve Number as the determinant variable of land function change at Miu basin of 2003, 2009 and 2014 did not experience significant change. The decrease of flood peak discharge by HSS Nakayasu method in 2003, 2009 and 2014 respectively 525 m3 / sec, 366,4 m3 / second and 154,3 m3 / sec. The decrease in peak flood discharge is due to the fact that in addition to the non-significant land use change, the area rainfall as the input in the flood analysis of the designs of those years decreased from 2003 to 2014.

Abstract

In the process of building construction residual materials usually formed that can be disadvantageous for the work parties. There are several ways to reduce the occurrence of waste material. The purpose of this research is to know how to control the waste material in case study of library office, archive and documentation buildings of Sigi Regency. The data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to the job implementers as well as taking documentation in the field. Data processing were using likert scale method, descriptive analysis, photograph analysis and SPSS software to determine the reliability of a data and correlation using Spearman's Rho method. The results of  this research indicate the control of residual materials carried out by taking into account: (a) the security of material  storage, (b) the storage of materials according to  the type and nature of the material, (c) plotting and calculating material use, (d) the worker's occupational control, (e) the presence of an officer inspecting and recording the material accepted and material that have been used, (f) casting and plastering in accordance with predetermined requirements, (g) the officer recognizing the material type and knowing the material allocation issue, (h) Packaging and control on  transporting materials, (i) storage location can facilitate the distribution of materials to job sites.
