Abstract

Online gaming, as fun as it is, has the potential to create problems of playing excessively. Even though many people play excessively and have problems on their daily functioning, there are excessive game players who function well in their daily life (Charlton, 2010). This might be caused by good self-control in the individuals. Self-control is defined as the ability to control thoughts, emotion, behavior, and wishes in order to attain higher reward (goals) and avoid being punished or having negative consequences (Vohs, dkk., 2008). Self control will affect someone in conflicting situation among different things. This research aims to seek self control components and processes among non problematic MMORPG gamers. Abstract

The growth of the birth rate in Indonesia is not comparable with the availability of labour force and it has an impact on national economic conditions. Therefore, the BKKBN (National Family Planning Coordinating Board) is very active to conduct various forms of promotion of the Family Planning (KB) in order to reduce the birth rate and to achieve a prosperous family. This study seeks to examine the association between the promotion of family planning programs with the use of contraceptive method among the parish of the church which is characterized by a certain ethnic group, in West Jakarta. By using simple random sampling, the questionnaire was distributed to 123 respondents of the 20-44 -year old. This study used simple linear regression analysis and the result showed that there was a very strong relationship between the promotion of family planning programs and the behavior of the use of contraceptive method.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that many elementary school teachers in the district of Sorong Selatan are still experiencing difficulties in implementing the teaching and learning activities. This study aims to: 1) determine the difficulties experienced by elementary school teachers in South Sorong Regency, 2) to know efforts made by teachers in overcoming the difficulties of learning implementation. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive naturalistic. The Research steps are: 1) collecting source through a questionnaire, and technical documentation; 2) reducing the data with the aim to simplify and categorize the data; 3) presenting data in the form of a description of the memorial; 4) drawing conclusions as a result of interpretation; 5) preparing research reports. This research was conducted on elementary school teachers who take the Distance Learning Program, which amounted to 123 teachers. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to teachers from elementary schools in South Sorong Regency. The results showed that teachers of elementary school (Sekolah Dasar) still have many difficulties in implementing the learning process. The difficulties experienced by teachers inteaching include difficulty in: 1) preparing learning activities, 2) developing lesson plans, 2) developing teaching materials, 3) implementing a variety of learning methods, 4) using of media /sources learning, 5) giving reflections to students, 6) comprehensively evaluating learning, and 7) implementing the learning of mathematics.

Abstract

Inclusive schools in Indonesia have increased rapidly. They are supported by the government policy to organize inclusive education related to equal rights to education for all children. In Middle-Vocational School (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK)), which is the final level of secondary education, students need to have a good preparation before continuing their education to a higher level or plunge into the world of work. The readiness can be achieved if students have good learning achievement. One of the factors that influence learning achievement is a positive school climate. This study aimed to identify the school climate‟s perception of students with special needs and regular, teachers, principals, and parents in SMK X, Jakarta. Results indicated that students, teachers, and parents at SMK X have positive perception of the school climate. As for the students, the perception is quite positive except in the case of bullying. Teachers have positive perceptions of school climate in varied levels.

Abstract

K-pop is a popular music genre from South Korea. K-pop female actresses or singers have an ideal body, which are desired by female K-pop fans. K-pop female actresess‟ ideal body can be regarded as a standard by female adolescent K-pop fans for body comparison, which can be defined as a comparison process with other‟s body. Female adolescent K-pop fans who do body comparison with K-pop female artist can have body dissatisfaction, which is defined as unfavorable or disparaging opinion of their own body components. Based on that phenomenon, this research investigates the contribution of body comparison with K-pop female artist to Indonesian female adolescent K-pop fans‟ body dissatisfaction. This research is quantitative research. Data were collected through giving questionnaires to 165 female adolescent K-pop fans in Indonesia. These questionnaires consist of the Body Satisfaction Scale, which was constructed by Slade, Dewey, Newton, Brodie, and Kiemle, for measuring body dissatisfaction. These questionnaires also consist of the Body Comparison with K-pop Female Artist Scale, which was adapted from the Body Comparison Scale by Thompson and Fisher. Data collected were analyzed using simple regression analysis. The result shows that body comparison with K-pop female artist contributes significantly to Indonesian female adolescent K-pop fans‟ body dissatisfaction.
