Abstract

Reef fish resources in Palu Bay are under exploitation pressure with increasing demand of fish for human consumption. This study is aimed to analyze the reef fishes composition dan biodiversity in Palu Bay. Field survey was conducted in Palu Bay, Central Sulawesi, in June-July 2017. This research used a survey method on data collection of reef fishes in the form of visual census methods (UVS) and methods of UPT (Underwater Photo Transect). Three sampling station were chosen to represent reef fishes condition in Palu Bay. Results of research in Palu Bay, the reef fish composition dominated by major fishes (54%), then target fishes (40%) and indicator fishes (6%). The reef fish biodiversity index has an average of 2.44 with a range from 2.19 to 2.66, means that biodiversity is in moderate category.Keyword: Biodiversity, Reef Fishes, Palu Bay

Abstract

Turmeric is a type of root that is easy to obtain, contains chemical compounds that have physiological activities, namely essential oils (containing sesquiterpenic alcohol compounds, temuron and zingberen) as well as curcuminoids (containing curcumin and yellow which include desmotoxicurcumin and bidesmetoxicurcumin compounds). This study aimed to determine the use of turmeric level in drinking water on the performance of quail during the production period, in terms of ration consumption, egg production and ration conversion of quails. This research has been carried out in Petobo Village, South Palu Subdistrict, on March 1 to April 15, 2017. This study used 200 female 12-week-old quail, 10 quails were placed in each cage unit. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of 4 treatments with 5 replications. The treatments tried are as follows: R0 = Without using turmeric flour in drinking water; R1 = 1 gram of turmeric flour in 1000 ml of drinking water; R2 = 2 grams of turmeric flour in 1000 ml of drinking water; R3 = 3 grams of turmeric flour in 1000 ml of drinking water. The results of the variance analysis showed that the addition of turmeric flour in quail drinking water had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on ration consumption, however a very significant effect (P <0.01) on quail egg production and ration conversion. The conclusion of this study is the use of turmeric flour in drinking water increases egg production and decreases ration conversion.Keyword: Quail, Turmeric, Production Performance

Abstract

The research aim to evaluated compotition, density, and diversity of plankton at 2016 years in the development site of Senoro gas field. The Method that has been used is deskriptif survey and purpose sampling and set 9 stasiun in 9 rivers. The result of the reseach show that phytoplankton diversity was highest in Kayowa River (very good category) and lowest in Uso river (good category). While zooplankton diversity was highes in Mading river (2,75) and lower in Paisubuloli river (1,95). The conclusion of the reseach are the development sites of Senoro Gas Field have high diversity and steady community.Keyword: Coral reefs, production flare, tiaka oil field

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of extract tuba root (Derris elliptica) the length of time anesthesia carp (Cyprinus carpio). This study was conducted in March 2016, using the research material 180 carp fry and given a dosage of different tuba root extract, namely A (0.8 ml / 5 L of water), treatment B (1 ml / 5 L of water) , treatment C (1.2 ml / 5 L of water). Parameters measured were anesthetized seeds start time and duration anesthetized goldfish carp seed. Analysis of data using analysis completely randomized design (CRD) with a further test Significant Difference (LSD). The results showed that higher doses of tuba root extract the faster start time sedated and the longer duration of anesthesia seed carp. Treatment C (1.2 ml / 5 L of water) to give effect anesthetized fastest start time (28.25 minutes) and gave effect anesthetized longest time (205 minutes), whereas treatment A (0.8 ml / 5 L of water) to give influence anesthetized longest start time (41.10 minutes) and gave effect anesthetized fastest (111.17 min). The higher the dose of tuba root extract the faster start time sedated and the longer duration of anesthesia seed carp.Keyword: anesthesia, extract, tuba root, hatchery

Abstract

Daging sapi merupakan sumber protein yang lebih baik bagi tubuh karena mengandungasam-asam amino esensial yang lebih lengkap dan seimbang serta lebih mudah dicerna. Penelitiantelah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 21 september sampai 21 oktober 2014. Desain penelitian yangdigunakan adalah metode survei. Penentuan sampel konsumen dilakukan secara purposif (sengaja)dengan menggunakan metode insidentil. Setiap konsumen yang datang membeli daging sapi akandijadikan sampel. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini yaitu data primer dan datasekunder. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis regresi berganda. Hasilpenelitian penduga permintaan di Pasar Inpres Manonda Kota Palu adalah elastisitas permintaandaging sapi yaitu -0,2 yang termasuk jenis permintaan yang elastis (Ed>1), harga daging sapi yaitu-0,08 yang termasuk jenis permintaan elastisitas yang inelastis (Ep<1), elastisitas silang suatubarang X dan Y yaitu -1 yang termasuk jenis permintaan elastisitas yang komplementer ataupelengkap (Ec<0), dan berdasarkan pendapatan terhadap suatu barang yaitu 15 adalah elastisitasyang elastis (Ei>1). Faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh positif terhadap permintaan daging sapi diPasar Inpres manonda Kota Palu yaitu Harga Daging, Harga barang lain dan tingkat pendidikankonsumen. Sedangkan yang berpengaruh negatif yaitu pendapatan konsumen perbulan danpengeluaran konsumen.

Abstract

Sumber daya ikan karang di Teluk Palu mengalami tekanan eksploitasi seiring dengan peningkatan permintaan sumber daya ikan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan konsumsi ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis komposisi jenis dan keanekaragaman ikan karang di Teluk Palu. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di Teluk Palu, Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah, pada Juni-Juli 2017. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei pada pengambilan data ikan karang, berupa metode visual sensus (UVS) dan metode UPT (Underwater Photo Transect). Tiga Stasiun pengamatan dipilih untuk  mewakili kondisi ikan karang di Teluk Palu. Hasil penelitian di Teluk Palu, komposisi jenis ikan karang didominasi oleh ikan mayor (54%), lalu ikan target (40%) dan ikan indikator (6%). Indeks keanekaragaman ikan karang di Teluk Palu memiliki rata-rata sebesar 2.44 dengan kisaran 2.19-2.66 yang berarti keanekaragaman dalam kategori sedang.

Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari – februari 2017 di Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan, Fakultas Peternakan dan Perikanan, Universitas Tadulako. Organisne uji yang digunakan adalah juvenil udang kaki putih (P. vannamei) sebanyak 5 ekor/wadah. Prosedur penelitian meliiputi persiapan wadah, tahapan ekstraksi getah buah pepaya, Penambahan ekstrak getah buah pepaya pada pakan buatan dan pemeliharan. Penelitian didesain dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan 4 kali ulangan yaitu pakan buatan dengan enzim papain 0% (kontrol), 1%, 3% 5% dan 7%. Hasil penlitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan enzim papain pada pakan buatan tidak memberikan pengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan dan feed convertion ratio (FCR). Nilai rata-rata pertumbuhan bobot mutlak tertinggi terdapat perlakuan B penambahan enzim papain dosis 3% yaitu sebesar 32,723 g dan memberikan nilai FCR antara 0,054-0,058. Nilai kelangsungan hidup udang kaki putih (P. vannamei) berkisar antara 95-100%.
