Abstract

The aim of this project is to show the aerodynamics experiment results of a truck in terms of drag coefficient (Cd) within aerodynamics forces. The test was conducted in the Wind Tunnel laboratory at the University of South Australia in the school of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. In addition to the test, fairing and without fairing effects were investigated. Results, Cd truck with fairing was lower than that of with fairing by 0.108 or from 1.518 to 1.41. By adding the fairing on the truck’s cap, fuel consumption could be saved

Abstract

The research aim is to procure lithology and depth rock that has water potentially contaned by using receptivity geolelectric of Shlumberger configuration. The project was conducted at the District of Beka which focused on 6 sample geoelectric points. Each point is restricted in the length area of 400 m. The geoelectric data processing was checked by available curve technique with helping inversion program. The processing based on responding of rock resistivity. Resistivity value of sand is between 3.5 and 11.5 Ohm-meter. Meaning that water potentially is available in the depth of around 40 m under land surface

Abstract

Bamboo use in civil engineering building has shown increasing demand whetter for in structural or non structural means. On the other hand, bamboo has not been optimally exploted althougth research results have shown that bamboo has strength and better performance compared to other building materials. This research was aimed to reveat the physical and mechanical properties bamboo. Preliminary research was made the physical and mechanical properties specimen bamboo, which following the ISO 1329-1975 standard test method. The result experiment showed that bamboo specific gravity 0,745 gr/cm3 of mainland area and 0,614 gr/cm3 for mountain area. The result experiment showed that bamboo mechanical properties of strength maindland area better mountain area

Abstract

The aim of this research is to get post network of hydrology efficient, effective and can deputize a catchment area so that earn minimization of is expense of required for the operation and conservancy. Data the used is monthly rainfall during 10 years start from year 1997 till 2006. Method which is used in data analysis that is method of Kagan. Pursuant to result of Method analysis of Kagan for the SWS of Lambunu-Buol with amount of existing rain post in this time amount to 13 posts with mistake of calculation according to result of analysis 2,814 % obtained by distance between post 45,199 km, amountly have answered the demand of but spreading of rain post not yet fulfilled what required by Kagan, so that require to be conducted by post reposition. Existing posts will be reposition are Station of Tada, Kayu Agung, Ongka, Lalos and Air Terang

Abstract

The growth of vehicle every year give impact to traffic intersection performance. The impact of trrafic such as vehicle queueing , traffic jam , rise in delay time and also increase travel time could be caused by traffic control system no effective because the increasing by traffic volumeThis research is conducted in one of Major Street in Palu, namely at Samratulangi – Sudirman Street street is the intersection between Hj. Hayyun – Cik Ditiro Street. In this research, the analyzed by using Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia ( MKJI).From result of analysis by using MKJI , got intersection performance at condition of morning peak reside at service of level C with queue length is equal to 38,73, in the peak day has level of service F with queue length is equal to 65,04 m and afternoon peak with level of service E where the queueing length is 70,07 m. According to value of level of service on the this intersection had shown that traffic control system 2 (two) stage was not effective again

Abstract

Infiltration of rainfall into slope will have an effect on to condition of slope hydrology and more specifically to characteristic of slope soils, for example pore water pressure value, level of saturation, weight contents of soil, shear strength of soil. Pore water pressure value at dry soil condition or wet condition called as with pore water pressure value negatife or value suction. This suction value will tend to declines and in the end becomes equal to zero or bigger than 0 ( positive pore water pressure) in the event of change of the water content from condition unsaturated to saturated condition. Speed of value change suction becomes positive pore water pressure most influenced by rain intensity. Value suction which is quickest fastest changed at slope at foot of slope

Abstract

The aim of this article is to investigate heating value of candlenut shell Char briquette by experimental andtheoretical means. The experimental performs the High Heating Value HHV by Bomb Calorimeter PARR12611, and investigation in the theoretical ones by using Dulong’s formula. The result shows that the heating value of HHV is 10697,4 Btu/lbm, and by Dulong’s formula is10549,Btu/lb. There is 1,16% deviation of the two means because in the Dulong’s does not includedissociation effect
