Abstract

This research is quasi experiment which is aimed to know whether there is difference of learning result of social arithmetic of students taught by cooperative learning model type Jigsaw II and result of learning of social arithmetic of student taught by using cooperative learning model of NHT type on Students of Class VII of SMP Negeri I Makassar. The result of the research shows that: (1) the learning result of the students taught by using cooperative learning type Jigsaw II model reaches 100% learning completeness, the students get the value with the average score of 84.67, (2) the students' learning result which is taught by using the model NHT type cooperative learning reaches completeness 100% of students get grades with an average score of 78.67, (3) student activity both taught using cooperative learning model type Jigsaw II even NHT during meetings in a certain time is effective, (4) Cooperative students on both cooperative types used in effective learning, and (5) student responses to positive learning. Likewise, the results of inferential statistical analysis indicate that there are significant differences between the scores of student learning outcomes taught by cooperative learning model type Jigsaw II and score of student learning outcomes are taught with NHT type for social arithmetic subject, so from the results of this study can be concluded that the model Cooperative learning type jigsaw II and type of NHT differ significantly, and can be used as one of the learning model that can improve student learning outcomes, especially for the material of arithmetic of socio-students at grade VII SMP and equal

Abstract

This is an explorative research which explores profile of students’ mistake in answering function limit questions at SMA Negeri 15 Makassar. Subject of the research consisted of 20 students divided in 5 student on hight group, 10 students on fair group and 5 students on low group. The aimed of this research showed that the kinds of mistakes is the error on concept included error on function limit. The error principles whish existed were the errors on the usage of limit theory, the usages of trigonometry formula, the usage of conjugate multiplication principle, and error on the usage of write off principle. The errors os strategy included the fault on the steps to solve the function limit question. The technical errors included counting error, did not follow the instruction of questions, error of factoring, and the used calculator. The reasons of the error were: (1) the used of calculator in calcilating, (2) mistakes in understanding the theory, (3) influenced on the steps to solve yhe unction limit quetions, (4) did not understand certain form, (5) presumed a concept of principle based on experiences, (6) did not read and give attention to the intruction of the question, (7) fault on generalizing limit theory, (8) forgrt on such formula or feature, (9) did not comprehend the conjugate multiplication principle, (10) did not comprehend the write off principle on fraction, calculation, multiplication, and subtraction, (11) difficult to do factoring, (12) did not comprehend steps in solving the limit quetions, (13) mistakes on calculating, and (14) nerousness in doing the questions due to the time loss. Alternative to overcome the mistakes by students was by communicate their mistakes through interview by: (1) reminding students things they already forget, (2) explaining things that they did not undertand, (3) giving a concrete example disclaim the usage of wrong concept or principle, and (4) giving them advice to inprove their study. The result of Chi Square revealed that there is no correlation between the level of students’ ability with the kids of mistakes in answering questions of function limit of class XI-IA students at SMA Negeri 15 Makassar

Abstract

This research is an experimental research that investigates the mathematical power (mathematical power) of junior high school students in the subject matter of comparison. Mathematical power in question is the ability of reasoning and communication, connection capabilities, and problem-solving skills. In addition to mathematical power, also investigated the activities of students and teachers as well as student responses to learning. The experimental unit in this research is the students of Class VII of SMPN 1 Bulukumba in even semester of the 2008/2009 school year. Selection of experimental unit used is cluster random sampling. All the selected students (Grade VII2) as many as 30 people were used as experimental units in this study. Data analysis used is descriptive analysis. The results showed that: (1) the average score of reasoning and communication ability, connection ability, and problem-solving ability of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bulukumba after being taught through cooperative contextual learning were in high category (2) All aspects observed are within the ideal timeframe (3) teacher activity in the learning process is generally implemented entirely (4) in general the students give positive responses to cooperative based learning contextual, as the implication of the results of this study, it is suggested that in learning mathematics, Teachers should use cooperative learning contextually

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to construct constructive, constructive, and effective construct-based constructive spacewalk construct materials, including Student Handbook, Student Activity Sheet (LKS), and Teacher Handbook. The existence of constructivist-based learning materials is expected to create a learning situation that allows students to more construct their knowledge personally or socially. Abstract

The study is an experiment research which aims at examining (1) the implementation of cooperative learning model of TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) type and NHT (Numbered Head Together) type; (2) the effectiveness of learning model of TAI type based on the aspects of learning outcomes, students’ activity, and students’ response; (3) the effectiveness of learning model of NHT type based on the aspects of learning outcomes, students’ activity, and students’ response; and (4) the comparison on the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of TAI type and NHT type in Geometry of grade VII students at SMPN 4 Sungguminasa. The study was conducted in grade VII at SMPN 4 Sungguminasa in Gowa on the second semester of academic year 2012/2013. Samples were selected randomly and obtained two classes out of thirteen classes. The chosen classes implemented the TAI type and the other one implemented the NHT type in Geometry lesson. The effectiveness of learning which consisted of thee aspect, namely learning outcomes of students, learning activity of students, and students’ response were examined. The result of study reveal that (1) the implementation of cooperative learning model of TAI type in geometry was conducted well with the mean score 3.60; (2) the implementation of cooperative learning model of TAI type in Geometry was effective based on the aspects of a students’ learning outcomes with the mean score of post-test greater than the pre-test by 79.47 ≥ KKM and students’ mastery of the lesson was 88.89% ≥ 85%, b) students’ learning outcomes with the implementation of activity 3.24, and c) students’ response with the mean score  3.57 (positive category); (3) the implementation of cooperative learning model of NHT type was conducted well with the mean score of the implementation 3.69; (4) the implementation of cooperative learning model of NHT type was effective based on the aspect of a) students’ learning outcomes with the mean score of post-test was greater than pre-test by 78.64 ≥ KKM and students’ mastery of the lesson was 86.11% ≥ 85%, b) students’ response with the mean score 3.46; (5) based on the set effective criteria, it is confirmed that the geometry lesson by determining the circumstance and area of square and triangle and used in solving the problem on the implementation of cooperative learning model of TAI type is better than NHT type of grade VII students at SMP where the three aspects, namely students’ learning outcomes, students’ activity, and students’ response were better than the TAI type.

Abstract

This research is the classroom Action Research (CAR) which aims to improve the quality of mathematics learning through contextual – based cooperative model. This research was conducted at a SDN Kompleks IKIP 1 Makassar. The subjects were students of class VB (second semester Academic Year 2009/2010). Students activities data, the ability of teachers to manage learning and teachers’ activity was obtained by using the observation sheet and for student learning outcomes data used achievement test. Results showed that (1) student activities at the First Cycle of exiting categories of students activities do not meet the ideal time, on the second and third cycle students activities have fulfilled the ideal time. (2) learning management on Cycle I was in hight enougt category, Cycle II was in the high category, and the Cycle III was at a very high category, so the ability of teachers to manage learning was as expected. (3) Cycle I, Cycle II some activites of teachers still are beyond tolerance time, the Cycle III has been reduced rather than Cycle I and Cycle II, the activity of teachers has increased  (4) study results on Cycle I have not finished from 49 students who have not completed as many as 27 or 55.10% with average learning 61.22, in Cycle II students who have not finished are as many as 20 atau 40.81% with an average of 63.83 learning outcomes in the category has not been completed, while in the Cycle III has reached the completeness with the number of students who have not completed 10 or 24.40%, while the numbers of students who completed was as many as 39 or 79.59%, with an average of 75.39 learning outcomes. Abstract

One factor which determined student’s achievement in learning is self-efficacy which can affect the activities, goals, and efforts that is conducted by students to resolve problem, especially in thinking. Each student has different self-efficacy which will lead them to have different thinking. Therefore, the objective of the research  is to find out the profile of thinking be reveal and classify each tendency of thinking shown by students on four level of thinking based on SOLO (Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes) taxonomy, namely uni-structural, multi-structural, relational, and extended abstract. This is a descriptive research by qualitative approach. This research is as the main instrument which leads by super item test, self-efficacy scale, and a valid interview manual. Subject of the research were students of class VIII-C at SMP Al-Azhar Palu, which consisted of 4 students (2 students in high self-efficacy and 2 students in low self-efficacy. Process of the research were: (a) formulated the thinking indicators based on SOLO taxonomy, (b) formulated a valid and reliable supporting instrument (super item test, self-efficacy scale, and interview manual), (c) took the subject of research based on self-efficacy condition, (d) took data to reveal the thinking level of students by super item test, (e) conducted a triangulation of data analysis, and (h) concluded the result of study. The result revealed that: (a) subject with high efficacy (HE) shows the tendency of thinking on the level of extended abstract, (b) subject with low efficacy (LE) shows the tendency of thinking on the level of relational, (c) subject with the high and low self-efficacy relatively shows a same tendency of thinking on the level of uni-structural, multi-structural, and relational as well as on the extended abstract

Abstract

This is a Research and Development aimed at developing the learning instrument,The instrument development employed in this research referred to 4-D   Thiagarajan model, which consisted of defining stage, designing stage, development stage, and desseminating stage. On the defining and the designing stages, they produce pre-designing of learning instrument (prototype-1). Then, the validation was conducted toward the prototype-1 by the expert and the practitioner on the development stage. The results of validation were then used as an input to revise the prototype-1 to prototype-2. The prototype-2 was tested in Class VII 1 of SMP Negeri 6 Watampone on 2008/2009 academic year. The observation on teacher`s ability in organizing the learning process in the experiment activity was on high category, students` activity and students`cooperative skill component were on the ideal time limit which has been defined in lesson plan, 95.80% of students gave positive response on the learning instrument, and 87.50% of students was in complete category on their learning result, with the result that the instrument fulfill the the effective criteria. Morever, observation on instrument implementation was on the category of fully implemented, so that it fulfill the praticability criteria. The prototype-2 has fulfilled the criteria of validity, effectivity, and practicality to become prototype-3. On the desseminating stage, socialization of prototype-3 was done to mathematics teachers of Junior High School in Watampone and the result will become the final prototype. The result of learning instrument development in this research are valid, practical, and effective lesson plan, student`s book and student`s worksheet

Abstract

This research is a research and development which aims The purpose of this research to develop and produce package in learning Geometry which is valid, practical, and effective. The desired product in this study is a valid, practical, and effective Geometry learning package, which consisted of 8 components, namely (1) RPP; (2) textbook; (3) worksheet; (4) test of the package; (5) observation sheet of students’ activities; (6) the observation sheet of the implementation of learning package; (7) the questionnaire of students’ responses, and; (8) validation sheet. The process of learnig package development used modification of 4-D model from Thiagarajan. The tryout was conducted at SMAN 4 Pinrang in Pinrang district to grade X MIA.2. students. The result obtained from the tryout is a valid, practical, and effective Geometry learning package. As the implications of the study, it is recommended that: (1) the Mathematics teachers should apply this package in learning Geometry, (2) for further development, teachers are expected to develop their own learning package (RPP, textbook, worksheets, and achievement test) adjusted to problem-based learning by employing scientific approach, so students will be motivated more and able to construct their own ideas/knowledge based on curriculum 2013

Abstract

The government has implemented various efforts in order to improve the quality of education, especially in the field of basic education. The quality of education concerns many interrelated issues, including the quality of learners, the quality of educators (teachers) and other education personnel and facilities and infrastructure. At the operational level, the issue of quality of education is very pleased with the quality of teaching teachers and student learning. Based on that, the researcher is encouraged to analyze the factors influencing the mastery of the aspect of the number in the elementary school teacher in Pangkajene sub-district, Pangkep regency. This research belongs to survey research that is descriptive-correlative and explorative with population of all teachers of SD Negeri in Pangkajene Sub-district of Pangkep Regency. Sampling was done with a sample of considerations. Data obtained by using the instrument in the form of questionnaire and test about aspect of number. The data were processed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The result of descriptive analysis shows that the mastery of number aspect in elementary school teacher is in low category. The results of inferential analysis indicate that the level of education, age and sex rate together affect the mastery of number aspect in elementary school teachers in Pangkajene sub-district, Pangkep regency. The results of explorative research indicate that other factors affecting the mastery of the number aspect are education and training, educational background, shift of teaching level, the role of teacher of mathematics guide, motivation and incentive for the achieving teacher
