Abstract

The experimental design used in this research was factorial 2x2 design. The purpose of this research was to study about the effect of combination between cooperative learning model called Jigsaw-TSTS, STAD and mathematics as a level that is a basic knowledge of mathematics above average and below average towards students’ learning outcomes of Class X SMAN 2 Kendari. The sample of this research was 40 students. The result of this research showed that the combination interaction factor of cooperative learning model and mathematics through design A*B, A A*B, B A*B, and A B A*B (A = A combination of cooperative learning model and B = A mathematics) using F-test, was accepted (H0) which means all four models that had been decided have no significant effect. Therefore the mean of learning outcomes in all of the cells formed by the factors A and B had small differences.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of mathematical communication in students. The research was conducted of class X MIPA-3 at SMAN 5 Kendari in academic term 2015/2016. The instrument used the mathematical communication ability test and observation sheets for teachers and students to condition the implementation stage. The procedure of this study consists of: (1) the planning stages (plan), (2) the phase of the (do), and (3) stages of reflection (check). Based on the results of data analysis and discussion we concluded that the average math student communication skills in the final test showed 78.2 score for both criteria. An average increase from initial tests to the final test resulted 17.89 which is 69.23% of students who have met the criteria of this research. The average indicator of mathematical communication capabilities following the first indicator increased by 0.37, an increase of 0.61 for second Indicators, third  indicator increased by 0.65 and Four indicator for 1.23. Based on the results showed that the communication skills of students in mathematical statistics materials have increased based on test results at the end of a given material.

Abstract

This experimental study employs factorial 2x3 design with the aims are to: (i) describe the students’ Maths achievement at SMPN 2 Konawe Selatan (ii) to describe the effects of students’ attitude on their Maths achievement, (iii) describe the difference of score average of Maths achievement for all cells formed by cooperative learning models (Ai) and students’ attitude (Bj), (iv) describe the diffrenece of Maths achievment of students among students’ attitude level factors  (Bj) for every factor level of cooperative learning models (Ai), (v) describe the differennce of average score among the cooperative learning models factors (Ai) for every students’ attitudes (Bj) and (vi) describe the difference of Maths achievement between all model factors of cooperative learning models (Ai) and students’ attitude (Bj). The analysis result: the students’ attitude have significant positive effect on students’ Maths achievement, the combination of cooperative models of TSTS-NHT is found more effective than  TSTS cooperative learning model and the best attitude of the students is better than moderate and is better than less good attitude.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative descriptive research that aims to know the basic knowledge of mathematics students of Public Junior High School and students of private Junior High School class VII at the material operations of integers and fractions. This research  population was all students of class VII students of Public Junior High School and students of private Junior High School in Kendari with a sample of 162 students. The sampling technique using stratified random sampling and cluster random sampling. The data collection techniques in this study uses the test method. The results showed that the basic knowledge of mathematics students of class VII of  Public Junior High School and Private Junior High School in Kendari city that are in the low category were Y <60. A basic knowledge of mathematics students of Public Junior High School higher than students of private junior high school with an average value of 44.57 for Public Junior High School students and 38.41 for private junior high school students . The highest average value of Public Junior High School students was 57.11 and the average value of the ultimate private junior high school students was 47.68.

Abstract

The experimental design used in this research was factorial 2 x 2 design with the total sample of 60 students in 8th Grade SMP Negeri 10 Kendari.  The purpose of this research were (1) to study about the effect students’ achievement motivation on mathematics’ learning outcomes (2) to study about the combined effect of cooperative learning model (TSTS-STAD) and achievement motivation as a level which consists of the upper group and the bottom group. (1) The results of descriptive showed that empirical mean value of the results in learning mathematics in each cell relatively support the hypothesis, (2) the results inferential analysis  showed that achievement motivation has a significant positive impact on learning outcomes of mathematics with a contribution of 0.530 unit which means that any change in one unit of achievement motivation would improve mathematics learning outcomes of 0.530 units with a contribution of 64.3% and 35.7% is determined by other factors in the population. The results of inferential analysis through ANOVA 2 factors non-hierarchy and hierarchy based on statistical F test at 0.05 significan levels receive all the hypotheses H0 means the average mathematics learning outcomes in each cell has a relatively significan.
