Abstract

Every region in Indonesia has a diversity of rice varieties produced and sensory quality is the most important thing noticed by consumers rice is considered by most consumers, even the public preference for rice growing. Purpose of this  research is to identify the preferences of local residents who live in the district of Merauke on rice varieties Inpari 7, 8 and Inpara 2 is being developed in Merauke. The experiment was conducted in a local village is Kampung Urumb, Waninggap Nanggo and Kampung Matara, research activities will be carried out over the past two months are September and October 2012. The main material used in this study were rice varieties Inpari 7, 8 and Inpara Inpari 2. The equipment used to support these activities, among others, such as cooking utensils, rice cooker, stir rice, plates, spoons, rice box, plastic pots. Research data will be analyzed by tabulation, data tabulation done by  data grouping according to the type of data that was obtained in the execution of the test data retrieval level of preference (preference) of processed rice into rice using hedonic test and rank test. The results of the study by using hedonic test and rank test can be concluded that 1) Aroma rice varieties Impara 2 (score of 2.17) than the most preferred local varieties aroma Inpari 8 (score 1.91) and 7 (score of 1.78). 2) Sense of rice varieties Impara 2 (score of 2.35) than the most preferred rice varieties taste Inpari 7 (score 1.96), and Inpari 8 (score 1.87). 3) Variety Impara 2 has ranked first through overal assessment using next rank test followed by Inpari 7 and 8 with the sequence of each percentage is 52%, 26% and 22%.

Abstract

This research aims to know the potency of Centrocema pubescence andCalopogonium mucunoides which is located in Wasur area as ruminant feed.  The research was conducted in Wasur village, Meraukeregency and laboratory of the animal feed nutrition and PAU in Bogor Agricultural University.Sample which used in this research arefeeding grass of leguminosa which grow crept and other wild feeding grass growing around area of Wasur especially settlement of society of local.The results revealed thatthe dominate of Centrocema pubescence and Calopogonium mucunoidesin Wasur area were (34.79%) and (31.69%), respectively.The carriying capacity for small ruminant (goat/sheep) in Wasur area that dominated with Centrocema pubescenceand Calopogonium mucunoides 3,63 AU/ha/month. Calopogonium mucunoidescould not be given forruminant as single feed because its  saponin content is more than 3%.

Abstract

Blast disease caused by the fungus Pyriculariagrisea is a disease that can infect of upland rice and lowland. Consequently  this disease, significantly reduce the productivity of rice plants. The use of resistant varieties is the most efficient way to control this disease. Resistant varieties will be able to maintain yields and reduce pesticide use. To create resistant varieties, information about resistance line/ variety as a candidate of parental is needed.   Therefore it is necessary to test resistance level of lines/ varieties. The aim of research was to determine the resistance level of local lines of rice / lines superior potential / national varieties of four dominant races blasIndomesia Total number of sampleswas 22 lines / varieties and four blastraces (033, 073, 133, and 173). The result showedthat eight upland rice lines were resistant to race 033 and one strain (ketanhitam) wasresistant to two races (033 and 173). While the lowlandrice,only one line (BojongJengkolSurade), showed a response resistant to race 033. Upland rice showed higher resistance (44%) than lowland rice (25%) to one race blas 033. These Lineshave the potential as a parent  to produce a blastresistancerice progenies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the chemical content of biomass and compost of the aquatic plants (Pistia stratiotes L.) at the Wasur village, Merauke. Benefits to be gained by the study is obtaining information about the content of the proximate and organic matter of Pistia plants at the Wasur village, so the function can be optimized. The results of chemical content of biomass and compost Pistia showed that plants have the potential to be used as feed additives for monogastric livestock, especially cattle as well as additional materials for composting.

Abstract

Thisstudy is aimed to know the content of the heavy metals, cadmium and lead in the Totok river water and to know is there cadmium and lead which was permissible limit. The samples was taken in five location. Cadmium and lead  to heavy metals content is analyzed by using atomic absorption spectrometer  fire place. Research results on Totok river water, consentration of heavy metal cadmium valued at 0.5690 to 1.1065 ppb and consentration heavy metal lead is 95.5000 to 190.6000 ppb. These result showed that the Totok river polluted by metal lead high enough

Abstract

The objective of the experiment was to know the effect ofmiddy deposit of ashorefor salt egg agent on albumen flavor layer chicken egg. The experimental design used was salt content and flavor for salty egg productwith the result that middy deposit for sains and technology.The results of Spider diagram indicated for salt conten in middy deposit of very low and odour to salt egg product.The conclusion of this research was that the middy deposit of applicable to agent  but have to increasingly salt andnoodour middy deposit.

Abstract

The aimof the research was to evaluate the thermal comfort of greenhouse which has roof polycarbonate.The research used quantitative approach. The variables for comfort standards were temperature, humidity and air movement. The determination of the case was based on the criteria of greenhouse roof material and Environment conditions surrounding thegreenhouse. Data were obtained by using instruments of, i.e. Thermo-Hygrometer and Anemometer. Data were analyzed quantitatively using convenience standard of research.The results showed that there were significant differences between temperature in greenhouse and temperature out greenhouse. Oriented building effect, used element building and environment condition affected to temperature inside and outside greenhouse because design greenhouse was not in standard concept for the greenhouse building for tropic condition
