Abstract

Sulawesi is an island that has high biodiversity. However, utilization of natural resources has been harming habitat of animals. The destructions of their habitat cause some animals become extinct from earth. Tarsius wallacei is one of the primate species from Tarsidae family and is an endemic species of Central Sulawesi region.  This research was done because the status of Tarsius becomes an endangered species. The purpose of this research was to estimate the population of T. wallacei at Lebanu village. This research was conducted during 3 months using Point Count method. The result of this research showed that populations of T. wallacei at Lebanu village are 11 groups and their densities are 0.19 groups/ha.

Abstract

Research on the description of the patient's BMI (body mass index) of tuberculosis (TB) in the positive treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis at the unit of integrated movement prevention of tuberculosis Undata Hospital Palu has been implemented since April until September 2015. This research aimed to look at the dynamics of BMI of patients during treatment. The method used was the retrospective design patients who present within 2014, which qualified as research sample. There are 45 respondents of eligible subjects complete data up to the end of treatment. The results showed a changeof each category of BMI from the early phase to the final phase of treatment. In theearly phase of treatment, is very thin and thin BMI were 30 respondents fromcategory 1 and category 2, its hows that most patients with early diagnosis of tuberculosis have a BMI below normal. While in the early phase until the end of treatment showed a significant frequency changes in norma lBMI reaches 24.5% categorized 1 and 0.1% incategory 2. This is due to irregular treatment undergone by the patient from the early phase to the final phase of treatment. This indicates that the category 1 more treatment success which is marked by the increasing quality of BMI’s Patients return to normal. While in Category 2 does not show the amount of success, because with drawing treatment.

Abstract

This research was conducted from January to June 2015 at the Tissue Culture Laboratory, Faculty of Forestry, Tadulako University. The explant used in this study was the stem of seedling. Experimental was based on a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments, and 3 replication, with 3 explants on each unit. Growth Medias as treatments were  H1 = MS0 + 0.5ppm BAP + 1.5 ppm 2.4-D; H2 = MS0 +0.5 ppm BAP + 2 ppm 2.4-D, H3 = MS0 + 0.5 ppm BAP + 2.5ppm 2.4-D, andH4 = MS0 + 0.5 ppm BAP + 3ppm 2.4-D. Parameters observation were time in callus appear, type of callus,  color of callus, the weight of callus, morphology of callus cells. Callus was induched on those medium under dark condition at  26-280 C. The result of the research showed that all treatments can induced the callus. The Medium of  ms0 + 0,5ppm BAP + 1.5 ppm of 2,4-D (H1) was the best media for callus induction, as it showed  in short period of  callus induction, the appearance of yellowish-white colors, highest in mass and volume of the callus cell, and showed uniform and active cell in proliferation.

Abstract

The research entitled ‘’Composition of shrubs vegetation in Two (2) Land Use types at the Pangalasiang Village, Donggala Regency of Central Sulawesi’’ was conducted from April to October  2015. The aim was to know the composition of shrubs vegetation in two land use types at Pangalasiang Village, Donggala Regency of Central Sulawesi. The types of this research is exploratory survey research by using the establishment of a single plot (50 × 50 m) followed by subplot (5 × 5 m) were placed on regular basis (systematic). The result of this research showed that there were fiveteen (15) species of shrubs plant in the ex ore mining land and twenty three (23) species in natural forest. In the ex ore mining land, the highest (INP) 36,15% refers to Stachytarpheta jamaicensis (L) Vahl. (Verbenaceae) and the highest (INP) 21,02% in natural forest was belong to Ageratum conyzoides L. (Asteraceae). The similarity index between two land use types was 82,92%.

Abstract

The research aimed to know the best formulations of basic substrate inoculums  white oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq) P. Kumm) in the best liquid forms and their viability on production media. The research was conducted at Laboratory  Biotekchnology of Depertement of Biology Faculty of Matematics and Natural Sciences, starting from March until July 2015. The experimental designed used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consisted of seven treatment and three replications. The compositions of the treatment were the ratio among wood sawdust, rice brain, corn starch and calcium (g) in successive sequences as follows : P0 (0 : 50: 50 : 3); (P1 10 : 45 : 45 : 3); (P2 20 : 40 : 40 : 3); (P3 30 : 35 : 35 : 3); (P4 40 : 30 : 30 : 3); (P5 50 : 25 : 25 : 3); (P6 60 : 20 : 20 : 3). The planting media used  in this research were production media. The observation parameters namely the ability fungal  growth  of inoculums  that meets surface the media with viability a high. The result of the research showed that P6 was the best treatment among. In the viability of the inoculums grew well on media production surface with good viability at 8 days of incubation.
