Focus of Journal of Aceh Physics Society (JAcPS) provides a forum for original paper works that enhances understanding of physics and their application. Scope of Journal of Aceh Physics Society (JAcPS) paper related to the development of new experimental methods, visualization techniques, material physics, optic, laser and instrumentation in physics is an important part of this journal. Experience gained and lessons learned in building test facilities and in measuring and reducing test data are important aspect of any experimental work. Authors are encouraged to report this experience and to summarize the original data. Archival review paper, short communication, invited papers, discussion of previously published papers, and book reviews are regular feature of the journal, in addition to full-length article.

Abstract

Properties of (Bi, Pb)2Sr2Ca1Cu2Oy ceramic superconductors were prepared by the melt textured growth methods in order to investigate the effects of the slow cooling time on the microstructur.  Phase analyses of the samples by X-ray diffraction (XRD) has been carried out to assess the effects of the slow cooling time. From XRD analyses, the addition to the sample of  the slow cooling time degrades formation of the high-Tc Bi-2212 phase. The possible reasons for the observed degradation in the microstructure properties due to the slow cooling time addition were discussed.

Abstract

This study was investigating the effect of sintering time (30 h, 32 h, and 34 h) on surface morphology of Pb-doped Bi-2223 oxides of superconductors prepared by the solid-state reaction method at 840 oC. The superconductor was characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).  In the present study, phase purity, volume fraction, surface morphology, texturing, crystallinity, grain connectivity and grain size of the bulk samples are found and compared with each other. The enhancement in the sintering time is confirmed that it will decrease Bi-2223 phase fraction and increase the impurity of the samples. SEM images shows that the sample has the best crystallinity, grain connectivity and largest grain size. Based on the present results, it is conclude that the surface morphological is improving with the increasing of the sintering time.

Abstract

Lamda (λ) Mu (μ) Rho (ρ) seismic inversion method has been applied to identify the distribution ofconglomerate reservoir in Melandong Field, Northwest Java Basin. This research used 3D pre-stack timemigration seismic dataset with one well data and a checkshot data. A sensitivity test analysis was done tosee the validity of the dataset and well seismic tie has been applied before generating a background modelfor the inversion processes. The outcomes of this research show that Lamda Rho ( λρ) inversion can be usedto detect the presence of hydrocarbon in a conglomerate rock and it is shown by value ranging between 33-39 (GPA*(Gr/cc)). Besides that, Mu Rho (μρ) inversion can indicate the rock type and it shows thatconglomerate has higher value (26 – 32 (GPA*(Gr/cc)) than claystone (20-26 (GPA*(Gr/cc)). By combiningboth Lamda-Rho and Mu-Rho inversion results, the distribution of the reservoir rock and hydrocarbon caneasily be detected and mapped.

Abstract

In this study the samples of Bismuth ceramic superconductors were synthesized by the melt textured growth methods from a 2212 stoichiometric composition in order to obtain a large amount of pure Bi-2212. The effects of Pb substitution on the properties of Bi-based Bi2−xPbxSr2CaCu2Oy superconductor with x = 0, 0.2, and 0.4 were investigated by means of DC electrical resistivity measurements. It has been found that the hole-carrier concentrations per-Cu ion of the samples change independently of Pb content.

Abstract

Identifikasi kondisi lapisan air tanah di Kecamatan Meuraxa, Banda Aceh menggunakan metode geolistrik resistivitas konfigurasi Wenner-Schlumberger telah dilakukan setelah 11 tahun bencana tsunami di provinsi Aceh. Resistivitimeter ARES buatan GF Instrument digunakan untuk mendapatkan variasi nilai resistivitas. Tiga lintasan pengukuran dengan panjang 200 dan 300 m ditentukan untuk memperoleh informasi bawah permukaan. Pengolahan dan pemodelan data menggunakan software Res2dinv. Pemodelan data menunjukan distribusi nilai resistivitas secara umum 0–374 Ωm dapat diidentifikasikan sebagai Alluvium yang bersesuaian untuk semua lintasan. Namun pada lapisan tertentu terdapat intrusi air laut yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai resistivitas rendah yaitu 0–5 Ωm. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa bencana Gempa Bumi dan Tsunami Aceh tidak berdampak terhadap kondisi lapisan akuifer, intrusi air laut dimungkinkan akibat oleh masuknya air laut melalui rekahan atau celah-celah yang menembus lapisan akuifer.Kata kunci: Tsunami, metode geolistrik, resistivitas, akuifer Identification of conditions ground water in District of Meuraxa, Banda Aceh using the GeoElectrical resistivity method with Wenner-Schlumberger array has been done after 11 years of tsunami disaster in Aceh province. Resistivitimeter of ARES made by GF Instrument is used to obtain values of resistivity variation. The measurement of three line with a length of 200 and 300 metres are choose to obtain subsurface information. Processing and modeling data is using Res2dinv software. Modeling data indicates the distribution of the resistivity values in General 0–374 Ωm can be identified as a corresponding Alluvium for all line. But in particular there is a layer of sea-water intrusion, indicated by a low resistivity value i.e. 0–5 Ωm. The devastating earthquake and Tsunami in Aceh does not affect the condition of the lining of the aquifer, sea-water intrusion is possible due to the influx of sea water by through fissures or cracks that penetrate the layers of the aquifer.Keywords: Tsunami, geoelectrical method, resistivity, aquiferREFERENSIAhyar, N. 2015.
