Abstract

The relatively low negative impact of the Indonesian economic crisis on the province of Bali is due to the ability of the agriculture and tourist industry in the province to sustain this impact. The price of non food crop production such as cloves, coffee, cocoa, and cashew nuts is very high, and this is partially as a result of the stable peace and security enjoyed by the province. The high trend of foreign and national tourist to Bali which had declined drastically because of the demonstrations and chaos in some cities on the Java Island, has no once again picked up momentum.The prevailing peace and stability in the Island of Bali is utilised by the Indonesian Chinese have taken asylum in this province as their houses and property in the other provinces were burnt and destroyed in the previous upheavals. The exodus of Chinese to Bali during that crisis led to a Bali during that crisis led to a negative impact on the population, economic, and cultural sector of the province.

Abstract

This writing is the outcome of studies concerning Indonesian migrant in the construction sector in Kuala Lumpur. Although in the beginning of this paper, there are many explanation about the development condition of Indonesian international labourwith the purpose to picture the global trend since the first five year development plan until the sixth five year development plan, but the focus in this writing is more on the impact analysis for the migrant one self in the destination country. The result of the studies shows that the migrant income level increase in proportion to when living in Indonesia especially infulfilling the basic requirements. On the contrary, for job experience many says that they have no progress at all and in fact rather become stupid. The migrants also infected with various diseases especially skin diseases and back ache, likewise sexual behaviour, there is a tendency to have sexual intercourse with the fellow migrant or go to the cheap prostitution places around Kuala Lumpur.

Abstract

Family planning is an instrument to achieve family welfare but it is not the only one. However, the simplification of family planning-family welfare linkage has exagerated the family planning role. Many studies, such as conducted by Population Studies Center Gadjah Mada University, show that the direct effects of family planning practice and fertility on family welfare are weak. Understandingthat the role is not big as expected, BKKBN introduced family welfare program. The program seems meaningful but institutionally it looks inappropriate. We suggest BKKBN to concentrate on its core bussines,e.g. serving FP,rather to do the family welfare program.

Abstract

Akhir-akhir ini, keterlibatan pria dalam kesehatan reproduksi secara umum mulai banyak mendapat sorotan. Tulisan ini terutama membahas apakah keterlibatan tersebut berartimempersempit kesenjangan antara pria dan wanita secara umum. Dengan perspektif gender, keterlibatan pria dan wanita dianalisis dalam 3 tingkatan, yaitu pada tingkat kebijakan internasional, tingkat program dan tingkat individu. Hasil studi pustaka ini menunjukkan bahwa proses pembuatan keputusan yang berkaitan dengan keluarga berencana belum banyak dibahas, berbeda halnya dengan jenis keputusan dan pembuat keputusan. Untuk menyatakan bahwa keterlibatan pria berakibat positif terhadap kesetaraan gender (gender equality), diperlukan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai proses pembuatan keputusan sebagai titik kritis ke arah kesetaraan jender.

Abstract

The problem of inequality in income distribution has for long been a focus of research interest. There is also a high possibility that this problem is responsible for the social stress and disturbances. Inorder to address this issue, there is a need to approach it through the gini index both over time and between regions, rural-urban, and also between groups in order to get an empirical observation, particularly in provincial level of Java. We can draw a general conclusion that the inequality in income distrilmtion in West Jam is low. In this connection, there is a tendency that the degree of inequality is high inareas the middle of development is relatively higher and then in urban areas. Thus, development policies aimed at improving on community income distribution should therefore, prioritize these areas.
