Abstract

This research aims to examine the composition of the green belt and its ability to adsorb particles of lead (Pb), determine the amount of particulate emissions of lead in the ambient air resulting from vehicle traffic activities and evaluate the composition of green belt some streets. The research was conducted using a survey method, the technical implementation is done by observation, questionnaires and secondary data collection. Sampling was done by purposive sampling is the selection of the sample with certain considerations deemed relevant according to the research objectives. Data were analyzed descriptively. The result showed that the green belt in three streets was dominated by Angsana trees (Pterocarpus indicus) form a line 1 (one) row crops. The composition of the green belt type, quantity, function, size, and distribution of plants available have not been able to reduce the concentration of lead (Pb) and thus require rearrangement. The roads planted with tree of Angsana (Pterocarpus indicus) and Tanjung (Mimusops elengi) had concentrations of lead (Pb) lower, as much as 1,39 µg/m3 at Urip Sumoharjo and as much as 1,11 µg/m3 at Laksda Adisucipto compared the road that only planted tree of Angsana (Pterocarpus indicus) is contained at Ahmad Dahlan with (Pb) concentration as much as 1,56 µg/m3. Concentrations of lead (Pb) in the third road was approaching the threshold value, but still below the quality standards specified.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to examine the effects of various sources of manure as a nitrogen sources on the cultivation of red chili. The experiment was conducted using experimental methods which are arranged in Complete Randomized Design (CRD) comprised 4 treatments, namely 90 ton of cow manure per hectare, 60 ton of goat manure per hectare, 36 ton of chicken manure per hectare and standard fertilizers (1 ton NPK/hectare and 20 tons of chicken manure/hectare).The results showed that treatment of manure and standards provide similar effects to the real plant height, weight fresh fruit and fruit diameter,  but a significantly different effect on the weight of fresh and dry weight of plant biomass, number of fruits per plant, fruit lenght and production red chilies. Treatment of 90 tons of cow manure per hectare gave the bighest production of red chili that is 302.58 grams per plant, but did not differ significantly with treatment of 36 tons of chicken manure per hectare.

Abstract

A research on identification and distribution of weed on samas coastal, Bantul, DIY aims to get the types and distribution of weeds in the area of Samas sandy coastal, in recognition of the types and characteristics of weeds in fields Samas beach sand to ease in weed control. The research was conducted by survey method that the implementation techniques used the analysis of vegetation and interviews. Vegetation analysis to determine the dominant plant species, determine sample plots observation and further to identify weeds, observed variables in the identification of weeds is weed density, frequency of weeds, weed dominance, coefficient of community (C) and SDR (summed Dominance Ratio). Data from the analytic vegetation result in the form of quantitative data were further analyzed using analysis of variance. Interviews were conducted to obtain information about weed control that usually done by farmers in Samas beach sand land. The results of research showed that weeds dominant in each plant peppers, eggplant, corn and peanuts and dominant weeds on Samas sandy coastal is narrow- leaved weeds, including weeds class C4, that is Eleusine indica L, Cyperus rotundus, Digitaria ciliaris and Cyperus iria effectively controlled by means of preventive, technical culture, mechanical and biological.

Abstract

Spodoptera litura is a major pest in soybean cultivation causing damage by 80%. One of control is done  by using bintaro plants (Cerbera manghas) potential as a botanical pesticide (insecticide). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of botanical pesticide from bintaro extract and get the precise extract concentration of fruit, young leaves, and old leaves of bintaro to control Spodoptera litura on soybean plants, and its influence to  the growth of soybean plants. This study used an experimental method that is designed in a single factor completely randomized design using pesticides Bintaro (young leaves, old leaves, and fruit), which consists of three concentrations (100 g / l, 200 g / l, and 300 g / l), add two treatments, namely, sprayed with water and a  synthetic pesticides as a control. Result showed the leaves and fruit of Bintaro at concentrations of 100 g/ l to 300 g/ l by solvent extraction has not been effectively used as botanical pesticide to control Spodoptera litura on soybean plants. Old leaf Bintaro extract (100 g/ l) produces highest pest mortality value and  rate of 40.00% and 2.00. The use of botanical pesticide from extract bintaro (fruit and leaf) is not inhibit the growth of soybean plants.

Abstract

Rice varieties with short maturity and high productivity can be achieved when there is available genetic resources in a sufficient level of variability. Morphological characters, such as leaf thickness and crop growth rate, could affect in crop productivity. Evaluation of seed germination rate, crop growth rate,  and their efficiency used for nitrogen have been done on 25 accessions of rice. Seed germination rate of B11283-6C-PN-5-MR-34-1-1-3, Lariang, B11742-RS-2-3-MR-34-1-2-3 reached 1,0-1,3 g/hill/day during seed initiation, while Dodokan and Silugonggo reached 0.7-0.8 g/hill/day. Danau Atas, B.11283-6C-PN-5-MR-2-3-Sl-1-2-1-1, B11742-RS-2-3-MR-34-1-2-3 and B11742-RS-2-3-MR-34-1-4-1 lines show good perfomance, moreover B11742-RS-2-3-MR-34-1-1-3, B11742-RS-2-3-MR-34-1-1-4 and B11742-RS-2-3-MR-34-1-1-4 lines produced grain yield higher than Silugonggo and Dodokan varieties. Those lines could be harvested at about 96 days after planting.

Abstract

A research to confirm potential natural resources as an induced systemic resistance agent and bio- pesticide and it combination against Cercospora leaf spot and anthracnose on pepper. The research method was conducted by experiment on field, arranged in factorial design 3 x 5, arranged Randomized Completely Block Design with three replications as blocks. The First factor was inducer of resistance, consist of 3 levels i.e. non-inducer of resistance, inducer of resistance by Mirabilis jalapa and inducer of resistance by Amaranthus spinosus. The Second factor was bio-pesticide consist of 5 level i.e. non-bio-pesticide, bio-pesticide Amp, bio-pesticide Pfm001, bio-pesticide Amp+Pfm001 and chemical fungicide. The result of this research showed that inducer of resistance could suppressing damage fruit by anthracnose but could not influencing in Cercospora leafspot. Inducer of resistance could not be influencing growth of plant but could suppressing damage fruit volume and total damage fruit. Inducer of resistance i.e. Mirabilis jalapa and Amaranthus spinosus could suppressing damage fruit by anthracnose. Bio-pesticide could not be influencing in Cercospora leafspot but could suppressing anthracnose on pepper. Bio-pesticide could not be influencing the growth of pepper but could suppressing total damage fruit and damage fruit volume also increasing up the yield. There is no interaction between inducer of resistance and bio-pesticide through every parameter except for the area under diseases progress curve (AUDPC).
