Abstract

The purpose of this study are: (1) to produce instructional media sock puppets which are practical,attractive, effective and efficient in improving speaking skills of elementary school students, (2)to determine the steps of making media sock puppets to improve speaking skills elementary schoolstudents, and (3) to test the feasibility of instructional media products which include practicality, theattractiveness, effectiveness and efficiency of the product. This study uses a model of the development of amodified Borg Gall. The steps of this research, namely (1) Preliminary Study, (2) Planning, (3) DesignProducts, (4) Product Validation, (5) Trial Product, and (6) End Product. The practical implications ofthis research is to develop the basic capabilities of cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning funthrough the media. The use of storytelling with a sock puppet media proved to meet these objectives.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine aspects of applied learning approach based on scienceprocess skills as a way to transfer material science for students in elementary school. The method usedis the method of library research. The collection and review of reference indicators for science processskills is then connected to the science material in the student book IV theme 2. Researchers analyzed thedata associated with using inductive and deductive. The conclusion that: 1) In each sub-theme has beenreferring to the learning approach science process skills, 2) Each sub-themes are science process skillsare fundamental, namely observation and communication, 3) No founding the activities to formulatehypotheses.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to describe the influuence of group discussion method in the evaluation ofuniversity student’s learning output using mind-map strategy in the direction of “bangun ruang, kubus,balok, prisma, tabung” to university student level V PGSD UAD Yogyakarta. This is experimentaldesign with the model of two group pretest-posttest design. The number of population are all of studentsfrom three class (VA, VB, VC), with random sampling from three class and the samples was 44 studentsfrom class VC. The techniques for collecting data were test with mind map product after student’sdiscussion in the group discussion. Data were collected from instrument of assessment output learningof mathematic analyzed with descriptive quantitative method. the result shows score of output learningover all in good category and exceed the minimum grades (KKM) were agreed. Because 80% ofuniversity students got minimum scorer in the good category. The result of t score obtained was 390,58 the t table was 2,000 with significance 5%, its means the hypothesis is accepted. It’s shows the influenceof group discussion method in the evaluation of university student’s learning output using mind-mapstrategy measurable cognition levels C1 and C2 university student in the direction of “bangun ruang,kubus, balok, prisma,and tabung”

Abstract

The alternative strategy to address social inequality and lack of student learning outcomes are modelsof cooperative learning. There are several models that made the researchers are interested in knowingthe signi.. cance of the difference to the learning outcomes and student activities, namely the model ofSTAD and TGT.The design of this research is quantitative research with this type of quasi-experimentalwith the factorial design version of nonequivalent control group design 2x2 (Tuckman, 1999). Based ondata from pretest and posttest scores can be seen that a good learning outcomes for grade STAD andTGT have increased, the increase amounted to 22.73% STAD class and class TGT by 20.91%. STADclass has increased by 1.82% higher than TGT class. Similarly, in the students’ learning activities,STAD model to get the student activity by 82.44% and amounted to 80.91% of IGT. STAD class rose1.53% higher than TGT class. Based on the hypothesis test concluded that (1) there is no signi.. cantdifference in learning outcomes between the application of the model STAD and TGT, and (2) there is nosigni.. cant difference in learning activities between the application of the model STAD and TGT. Bothmodels are equally able to bene.. t in improving student learning outcomes and student activity. In thisstudy, there is no one model that can be said to be superior significantly from one another.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the implementation process of the teacher class guidance in buildingthe character of students. This study is a qualitative research with phenomenological approachnaturalistic. Phenomenological approach seeks to understand human behavior in terms of aframework of thinking and acting people themselves. Implementation of comprehensive guidanceservices done by classroom teacher and teacher assistant in SD Muhammadiyah Surakarta SpecialProgram was very in???? uential on the formation of student character. The process of comprehensiveguidance services form the basis of guidance services, response service, individual planning services,and support systems. This study focuses on basic counseling services and individualized service.This guidance service is a companion program for all students under the guidance of psychologistsand counselors. The basic service is a service provided for all students in order to achieve optimalprocess of self development through activities classically presented systematically. This serviceis also aimed at preventing the emergence of problems in the educational process at school.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development strategy of the skill in writing a narrative text with theURW technique in the early Elementary School class. The research employed a descriptive-qualitativeapproach. It describes and analyzes the learning strategies of writing a narrative text with the URWtechniques. The data in this study included the actions and documents concerning the planning,implementation, and evaluation of learning. The data collection techniques used observation, interview,documentation, and questionnaires. The validity of the data employed a triangulation of data orsource. The data analysis applied an interactive model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion/ veri???? cation. The analysis of quantitative data was used to determine the assessment of a narrativewriting skill with the URW techniques in the early primary school class. The results of this study showthat the URW techniques can be developed with a wide range, for example, the development of the Uraitechniques, the development of Time and Space techniques. The assessment of learning a narrativewriting skill with the URW techniques in class III of Primary Schools showed signi???? cant improvement.This can be seen in the analysis of the data from three locations showing an increase. The highestincrease was in SD Muhammadiyah Pajangan at 92%, Muhammadiyah Senggotan at 88% and SDMuhammadiyah 3 Ambarketawang at 77%.
