Abstract

Indonesian industry is likely to snap because it relies on the monopolitic conglomerate’s industry so that it cause the inter relationship between big and smaller units of industry to become weak. The weakness of the industrial relationship is caused by the units independetly. This is different from the industry which is based on community concept emphasizing a main priority to close inter relationship between the units. This research was arried out in Trangsan, Gatak, Sukoharjo, Central Java. Where there is a industrial community which has been a close inter relationship since long time ago. The goal of this research is to know the type and the nature of unit inter relationship in rattan industrial community in Trangsan, and know the strategy how it faced a nationally economical crisis.This research used a survei method. The number of the population was 110 entrepreneurs from Trangsan. The sample was obtained with stratied into three categories, based on number of labour force. Every category was taken 20% as sample based on homogeneity sample, ana the respondent was examined with random sampling. The collected data were presented in frequency and cross table. The analysis of qualitative data used logical rationale, deductive – inductive, analogy and comparison, while the analysis of quantitative data used the analysis of frequency and cross table. The use of these two analysis was the result of the research.These are the result of the research: 1) a inter relationship among small – scalled businesses; 2) there is a weak inter relationship between small and medium scaled industries; 3) the business inter relationship of rattan industries is subcontract in which a part of the big scaled industry’s job is reponsible for the small saled one; 4) the form of the business inter relationship is cooperative; 5) the main strategy of rattan industry community to face nationally economical orisis strengthens their business inter relationship.

Abstract

Studies about population immobility, especially immobility associated with climate change-related disaster, are very limited. As a consequence, the explanation of population immobility in disaster prone areas is still blurred. This study contributes in explaining population immobility by exploring the typology of residents who did not move from disaster-prone areas. The survey was conducted towards the residents of Kampung Tambak Lorok Semarang, which is prone to three disasters simultaneously i.e. sea level rise, land subsidence, and tidal inundation. The study sample was 235 heads of households selected using proportional sampling area technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of two parts: (1) demographic, social, and economic characteristics of people who did not move from disaster prone areas; and (2) staying intention in disaster prone areas. Data analysis used descriptive analysis by using table and graph of respondent characteristic and relation between respondent characteristic and staying intention in research area. Three (3) typologies have been identified, namely: Type-1 are residents who wishes to stay; Type-2 are residents who still have not decided whether to stay or move; and Type-3 are residents who do not want to stay/want to move. Each of these typologies is described by place of birth, age, length of stay, education, occupation, and income. The understanding of the typology of residents living in disaster prone areas is important as inputs for policy-makers, especially regarding the relocation of people from disaster prone areas to be effective. The results of this study also contribute empirical evidence to the migration theory debate at the micro level, namely that the staying intention is a key element in the 'black box' of immobile decision-making from disaster prone areas.

Abstract

A study had been carried out to investigate heavy metal (Cu, Cd, Pb) content in sapu-sapu fish (hypostomus plecostomus) in Bengawan Solo river. The type of this research was observational research, with sapu-sapu fish inhabit Bengawan Solo River as the population. The samples were taken with purposive random sampling. Nine sapu-sapu fishes taken from 3 places, i.e.: Nguter Sukoharjo area, Premulung river outlet and Anyar river, 3 fishes from each palce, and then take examined the content of heavy metal. The result of study showed that the average content of Cu: 0.027 mg/100gr, Cd: 0.005 mg/100gr and Pb: 0.042 mg/100gr. Hence, sapu-sapu fish in Be3ngawan Solo had been contaminated with heavy metal (Cu, Cd, and Pb) and should not be consumed.

Abstract

The groundwater vulnerability to pollution refers to the ease of pollutants reaching groundwater, so the groundwater will be polluted. The concept shows a probability that pollution will occured which basically bases on the assumption that the physical environment can prevent the flow of pollutants into the aquifer. The purpose of this study was to predict the vulnerability of groundwater in the study area against pollution. To achieve these objectives beside base on secondary data, also measured the depth of phreatic surface, slope and groundwater sampling. Location of measurement and sampling is determinated by considering location of infiltration measurement ever done by Purnama in 2017. To conduct groundwater vulnerability analysis on pollution in the study area, carried out by SINTACS Method which bases on a numerical system of weight and rating. Weight are determined based on the significance of the effect of the parameters on groundwater pollution, while the rating is determined based on the significance of the influence of variables in each parameters against groundwater pollution. As a result, it is known that groundwater vulnerability indeks in research area range from 117,0 to 189,9. According to criteria of SINTACS, the value are classified as moderate vulnerability and rather high vulnerability. Areas that include moderate levels of vulnerability generally located in Sentolo Formations that consist of limestone and has grumusol soil type. Areas that classified as rather high vulnerability is located in Yogyakarta Formation that consist of volcanic rock and has regosol soil type. Based on this phenomena, it can be said that geological aspect and type of soil greatly affect the vulnerability of groundwater to pollution in the research area.

Abstract

Floods in Jakarta showed that the Ciliwung watershed and surrounding areas in critical condition. More than 50 % of land cover Ciliwung watershed is residential. Planting trees in residential areas have been insufficient to infiltrate as much water into the ground. Infiltration well is one possibility for absorbing water in residential areas. The purpose of this study was to determine the variation in the level of water absorption Ciliwung watershed and surrounding areas. The method used is overlaying analysis of the factors that determine the rate of water infiltration with geographic information system. Each of these factors gave weights and scores to obtained variations Ciliwung water infiltration rate. The results showed that the regions with the highest levels found in the upper catchment area and the city of Bogor, middle absorbtion water area was in Bogor Regency, low water absorption areas in Depok , South Jakarta , and East Jakarta . While in North Jakarta, Central Jakarta and West Jakarta the water absortion is very low level due to the shallow ground water level and very low soil permeability. Map variations in water absorption can be used as a material consideration for determining the locations of recharge wells effectively.

Abstract

This research is based on the facts: first that, Boyolali is one of the regions which implement intensively many kinds of program in solving the poverty which gets the finance from APBD, central government and international institutions, eventhough the proportion of the poor society increases significantly.The proportion of poor society increases 20,8% in 2002 becomes 38,26% in 2006. Second, seen from the regional development indicator, it is shown that between one region and the others has various levels of the varieties of development.The objectives of this research are: first, the understanding of the distribution and of the poverty level in this region. Second, the understanding of the relationship between distribution of poverty level and the regional development level. Third, the understanding of the factors which influence the regional development. The method used in this research is secondary data analysis. The analysis unit of this research is village. The data resources are taken from the report of the identification result of poor families and the primary data is taken from BAPPEDA Boyolali. The primary data is a number of poor families, the regional scope and the use of farmland, the long street to account the regional accessibilities and the number and the distribution of social and economical facility in each village. The result is presented on the map with the analysis unit of the village. The represented map are the distribution level of poverty per village. To determine the relationship between the level of poverty and regional development uses the technique of qualitative and quantitative analysis. The qualitative analysis technique used is the analysis of the map of poverty distribution, analysis map of regional development and harmonious relationship between the level of regional development and poverty. The quantitative analysis technique used is the analysis of correlation statistic product moment.The results of this research are: first, there is distribution variation of poverty level, there is relationship between distribution of poverty level and natural resources endowment.The region with lower resources endowment (up land region) have higher poverty level than the region with higher natural resources endowment (law land region) and conversel. Second, there is negative relationship between regional development level and poverty level.Third, the factors which influence the level of regional development are the economical and social facility of the region and accessibilities.

Abstract

GIS, Geographical Information System, is a means that an be used to plan and to develop the coastal area because in carrying out the analysis this system combines the space data and their  attributes. The activities done among others the prototype development of algae cultivation and tourism ativities, the development of fish pond location, the reclamation of the Jakarta Bay, and the concept of development the floating “Keramba” for pearl oysters and white sea fish similar to sole. GIS analysis with heaviness and overlay mapping yields the appropriate map to plan and to develop the coastal area. The result of GIS analysis can be used to plan and to develop the coastal area.

Abstract

Numerous progress has been made in the field of applied photogrammetry in the last decade, including the usage of close-range photogrammetry as a mean of conservation and record of outcrops. In the present contribution, we use the SfM-MVS method combined with a wavelet decomposition analysis of the surface, in order to relate it to morphological and surface roughness data. The results demonstrated that wavelet decomposition and RMS could provide a rapid insight on the location of coarser materials and individual outliers, while arithmetic surface roughness were more useful to detect units or layers that are similar on the outcrop. The method also emphasizes the fact that the automation of the process does not allows clear distinction between any artefact crack or surface change and that human supervision is still essential despite the original goal of automating the outcrop surface analysis.

Abstract

Central Sulawesi is the largest province on the Sulawesi island with a dominant sloping topographic condition and has a variety of soil types, flow density, land use and rainfall that makes this region vulnerable to flooding. Flooding is a hydrometeorological disaster that will adversely affect aspects of human life such as social and economic activities in an area because it can cause environmental damage, casualties and disrupt economic activity. Because of its enormous impact, the purpose of this research study is to find out areas in the province of Central Sulawesi that are suscept to flooding. The method used in this research study is scoring the classification of flood hazard parameters such as slope level, elevation, soil type, rainfall, land use and flow density which are then overlay using ArcGis 10.2.2. The results obtained that the province of Central Sulawesi has three categories of areas suscept to flooding with a low category 6630.3 km2, moderate 46081.9 km2 and high category 7104.7 km2. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that Central Sulawesi province has a dominant level of vulnerability which is moderate.
