Abstract

Developing relationships with customers through brand community is the recent tool for marketers for customer relationship management (CRM) program. The existence of a community, especially virtual, depends on the members’ participation as well as their recommendation to others. Previous studies indicate that members’ participation and recommendation depends on how deep is their identification toward the community. This article argues that social identification itself is not enough, unless the members engage in co-creation activities by exchanging knowledge with other members (co-consumption) and producers (co-production). Further, this article further argues that the effect of social identity on members’ co-creation and behavioral intentions will be moderated by their nostalgia proneness. We conducted survey among Volkswagen Indonesia CyberCommunity (VICC) members as one of the legendary brand in Indonesia. The results indicate that direct effect of social identity on members’ behavioral intentions is greater than indirect effect through co-creation. The moderating effect of nostalgia proneness is significant on the relationship between social identity and behavioral intentions, in which the effect is larger when members’ identification is low. Managerial and academic implications are further discussed in this paper.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of the message framing on the perceived psychological risk on green environmental issues. Consumers nowadays have become more critical about issues on green consumer due to the increasing levels of consumers’ knowledge. Government and marketers also should perform active movement to increase consumers’ awareness of their environment. Those include giving a message to the consumers. When marketers deliver the message, they need to concern about message framing. Message framing is likely to influence the consumer's perception. Research design used in this study is design experiments. In this case the message was manipulated by message framing: positive and negative. The hypothesis of this study, H1: There are differences in perceived psychological risk perception on advertising by using positive and negative message framing, H2: There are differences in perceived psychological risk of consumers on advertising by using positive and negative framing that is reinforced with consumer knowledge. The analysis results of hypothesis 1 showed that there are significant differences in perceived psychological risk on advertising by using positive and negative message framing. Consumers feel that perceived psychological risk is lower in the ad with a positive message framing. Therefore, on advertising products related to green consumer issues, using positive message framing will be more effective. The analysis result of hypothesis 2 showed that there are no significant difference in perceived psychological risk on advertising by using positive and negative message framing that is reinforced by consumer knowledge. Consumer knowledge did not moderate the effect of message framing on perceived psychological risk.

Abstract

Along with the increase of information disclosure needs by stakeholder, the companies are not only demanded to be responsible for merely economic aspect but also environmental and social aspects. The objective of this research to provide the evidence of the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosure to the companies performance using Market Value Added (MVA). The research is using manufacturing and mining companies that listed in Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) from the year 2007 to 2011 as samples. The hypothesis was tested using t test and the result of this study is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has positive effect on Market Value Added (MVA).

Abstract

Crumb Rubber has been one of mainstay industry in West Kalimantan since the wood processing industry declined in 2000 due to the reduced supply of raw materials. The importance of the rubber industry for the West Kalimantan Province development is shown by the large contribution of the rubber industry to the total value of exports of West Kalimantan. While every industry faces higher competition levels, so does industrial crumb rubber in West Kalimantan. The competition level faced not only at the regional level , but also at national and international levels . In order to improve the competitive advantages, a company engaged in the field of crumb rubber in West Kalimantan, in particular PT. Sumber Djantin, must conduct an evaluation or improvement in all areas to improve the performance of the company . One important element that should be improved is the performance of employees. Leadership and Work Environment is an important factor for improving the performance of employees. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of Occupational and Environmental Leadership towards Organizational Commitment and Employee Performance PT. Sumber Djantin in West Kalimantan. Leadership and work environment are the exogenous variables in this study while organizational commitment as an intervening variable and employee performance as the endogenous variable. Sample of the study respondents totaled 150 production employees of PT. Sumber Djantin Kalbar. The analysis technique used in this study is variant-based Structural Equation Modeling ( SEM ), PLS, using SmartPLS software version 2.0 for windows . The results of study showed that leadership significantly influences organizational commitment, but does not significantly effect employee performance. Work environment significantly influences organizational commitment, but does not significantly effect on employee performance. Organizational commitment has a significant effect on employee performance.

Abstract

There are many forces that are acting as stimulants for change such as socio-cultural, technological, economic and political and the options essentially fall in four categories: structure, physical setting, technology and people. The application of planned changed sometimes create many resistances for many reasons. There are many tactics have been suggested for use by change agents in dealing with resistance to change. One of the best suggestions is ADKAR MODEL (Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability and Reinforcement). The purpose of this article is to illustrate empirically how ADKAR Model is configured to overcome the resistance of change of Avnet’s employees.  Library researchs were carried out with qualitative approach. The current finding indicate that the application of ADKAR Model was  enabled Avnet’s change agent to  identified why the change was not running well and suggestions to handle it and to identify the changing of many levels (individual, group, inter-group and organization.  Another finding was the model can be optimal reached if every step in this model is running well and fully supported by all management teams and also make it successful and permanently embedded into the organizational operations and business model

Abstract

This study aims to test whether active strategies with Moving averages are superior to the passive strategy Buy-and-Hold Strategy in stock portfolios formed based on LQ45 index. Research method used in the research begins with the collection of data which is then processed and analyzed. Subsequently Application ChartNexus used in order to form MA5&MA20 and MA10&30. Lastly the research  compare return from active strategies (moving average) and the passive strategy (buy-and-hold strategy). The results of this study indicate that passive strategy with buy-and-hold strategy is able to outperform the moving average active strategy when the market is bullish.
