Abstract

This study is an experimental study with quantitatively descriptive approach which aims to describe the effectiveness of learning using wondering successive method with regular competition model of type 1 among students on vector space material. The subjects of this study are fifth semester students of mathematical education programe in STKIP PGRI Bangkalan. The Results of study are analyzed descriptively to see the lecturer's ability in managing learning process, student’s activity and the completeness of learning result classical. The results of study show that the used method is effective to implement on vector space material. This conclusion is based on several things, namely (1) the lecturer's ability in managing learning process is effective, student’s activity is effective and the classical completeness of learning result is achieved.

Abstract

Learning strategy which gives less chance for the students to be actively included in the learning process will reduce the interest of students in learning which resulted in the lack of students’ motivation in learning which also will affect the students achievement in learning. The active learning strategy is a strategy which actively includes students to be active physically, mentally and socially. Based on these fact, the strategy of learning used by teacher plays a very important role in improving the students’ motivation as well as the success of learning. To achieve the goal of learning, teacher should pay attention to: (1) reduce the direct lecture method, (2) assigns different assignment to each students, (3) groups students based on their ability, (4) the material must be modified and enriched accordingly, (5) uses variation of procedures, (6) tries to develop the learning situation based on the students’ abilities, (7) motivate students to me actively engage in all learning activities. Inquiry Based Learning is an important component of constructivist approach which has a long history in innovative learning. Learning through inquiry will gives benefits for students. It spur on students’ interest to know more things, motivates them to continue learning to get the final answer. Students will learn to solve problem independently and think critically as they must analyzed and arrange information.

Abstract

This study is meant to describe: a) The difficulty faced by fifth grader of Balikpapan City in learning mathematics especially in learning about “Time Unit”. b). the reasons behind those difficulty faced by the students of fifth grade of Balikpapan City in learning “Time Unit”. the type and approache of the research are descriptive with qualitative approach. The data collection method used in this research are documentation, test, observation and Questionnaire. Based on the final analysis data,  the researcher found that the difficulty percentage faced by the students in factual is 14,4%, the difficulty face in conceptual is 56,9%, the difficulty in skills is 42,2% and the difficulty faced by the students in principal is 76,7%. The causes of those difficulty in learning comes from inside and outside of students themselves. It is hoped that teacher can drill students in mastering the concept, skills and principal of “Time Unit” in the hope to reduce the students’ difficulty in mastering the Time Unit material.

Abstract

This apparent study is meant to prove the effectiveness of Project based laboratory Learning (PBLL) toward students’ creativity in Statistical Method I subject. The research’s populations are all second semester students from II-B and II-C. Data collection method used in this research are documentation and test. The research instruments are document and question test. The document in this research is used to determine the sample of the research through equilibrium analysis with the data collected from the students’ result of their study in the mathematics for School I for Junior and Senior High School. The test instrument is used to get the data related to students’ creativity. The result of this research shows that PBLL is more effective than direct learning to improve students’ creativity especially in the subject of Statistical method I.

Abstract

This study intends to develop heuristic strategies in learning courses based on statistical data analysis metacognitive approach. This study was a quasi-experimental study with 2 x 3 factorial design. Techniques of data analysis, namely: balance test, test requirements analysis (test for normality and homogeneity test), test research hypotheses using two way analysis of variance with unequal cells. Based on the research results, it was concluded that that: 1) Students are provided with the learning of metacognitive have problem-solving ability is better than the conventional learning; 2) Students who have a high learning independence have problem solving skills better than students who have low learning independence, and students who have moderate learning independence as well as problem solving skills of students who have learning independence high and low; 3) Based on the categories of metacognitive and conventional learning, students who have a higher learning independence acquire mathematical problem solving ability is better than the lower learning independence, while the mathematical problem solving ability of students who have moderate learning independence as well as low learning independence; 4) Based on the category of high-independent learning, students who applied to acquire metacognitive learning mathematical problem solving abilities better than that applied by conventional learning. Based category learning independence medium or low, there is no difference mathematical problem solving ability of students who applied to the metacognitive learning and conventional learning.

Abstract

Research carried out by two cycles, in which the first cycle of students working on quiz questions given by the teacher. Students noted the difficulties experienced while working on quiz questions received. Teachers and students discuss the material they are having trouble students. While in the second cycle, there is an additional action, the students were asked to present the quiz questions that come in front of the class. Students expressed difficulty verbally, another friend who helped work on the class. The results of the study before the first cycle, the first cycle and the second cycle increased. From the test results obtained by the average value of the first cycle = 68,75. Cycle II, = 87,75. Level classical completeness of each cycle rises of 48% and in the second cycle be 90,625%. Observation of learning activities more alive with many questions asked by the students.The conclusion of this study is the use of problem solving methods can increase student achievement in math on the circle A class VIII SMPN 11 Madiun in academic year 2015/2016.

Abstract

This research and development is meant to produce a product of learning set based on problem submission and problem solving in Linear program course in the department of mathematics Teaching of IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro. The development of this set includes Lesson Plan, worksheet and a test of study result. This research is done within the department of Mathematics Teaching of IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro in the academic year of 2015/2016 from March to June 2016. The population of this research are sixth semester students. The research method used in this research is developmental research, while the model of developmental research used is developmental Thiagarajan which had been modified from four steps into three steps model namely:defining, designing, and developing. The data collection methods used in this research are documentation, Questionnaire, and learning result. The result shows that the set of learning in 4-D model which had been modified, resulted in a good learning set of JUCAMA model because the set of learning produced is a valid set based on the expert and based on the test in the field shows the data as the response toward positive learning, and the result of the test had fulfilled a good validation  criteria, reliability as well as its sensitiveness.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate whether there is difference of influence student learning result after application of cooperative script learning model assisted mind map with direct instruction learning model on the subject of Program Linear class X of SMA Plus Al-Amanah Balongsumber Dander Bojonegoro in the academic year of 2014/2015. This study is a quasi-experimental study using a study design of post-test - only control design. The sampling technique using cluster random sampling technique. The sample in this research is class X-B as an experimental class and class X-C  as the control class. Data mathematics learning result obtained using the technique of tests, and the tests used in the form of an objective test. Data were analyzed by an independent comparative statistical t-test. Based on the research results, it was concluded that: there is a significant difference between students' mathematics learning result that learned through the cooperative scriptlearning model assisted mind map with the students that learned through direct instruction learning. This suggests there are differences in the effect of the cooperative script learning model assisted mind map with direct learning model mathematics instruction on learning result of students on the subject of Program Linear second semester of class X SMA Plus Al-Amanah Bojonegoro.
