Abstract

This research was aimed at defining the effect of Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) on students’ mathematical literacy ability and disposition. This research applied the Posttest-Only Control Design. The population was all grade VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Randudongkal. The Cluster Random Sampling was used in this research and it gained class VII B as the experiment group and class VII E as the controlled group. The data on students’ Mathematical literacy ability were collected through the post-test, while the data of students’ mathematical disposition were collected through questionnaires. The research hypothesis was comparative with the right-side test. The data were analyzed using the Mann Whitney test. With the significant value of 5%, it was revealed that students’ Mathematical literacy ability and disposition attending the learning process using RME were better than those who were not. It could be concluded that the RME learning method had a significant and positive effect on the students' mathematical literacy ability and disposition.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the difference between the use of cooperative learning methods consisting of the think talk write (TTW) method and the think pair share method (TPS) on mathematical communication ability in algebraic forms operating materials. The method used in this research was a quantitative research method using a comparative study approach. The sampling technique used in this study was Cluster Random Sampling. The population of this study consisted of all VII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Ngabang in the 2019/2020 school year. The research sample was experimental class I namely class VII A using the TTW method and experimental class II namely class VII B using the TPR method. Data was collected using test and documentation. The data analysis technique used was the t-test. The results of this research showed  that the   of 2.049 was greater than the   of 1.995 at the significance level α = 0.05. This means that there were significant differences in the results of students' mathematical communication ability in the aspects of knowledge between the experimental class I compared to the experimental class II. This showed that the experimental class I who followed the learning by applying the Think Talk Write method has a different mathematical communication ability than the experimental class II who followed the learning by applying the Think Pair Share method.

Abstract

This study aims to determine; whether the achievement of problem solving abilities that follow Problem Based Learning is better than the achievement of problem solving abilities that follow direct learning; whether the achievement of self-efficacy that follows Problem Based Learning is better than the achievement of self-efficacy that follows direct learning. This research is a quantitative study with an experimental method using the Post-Test Only Control Design method. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Patikraja. Sampling using cluster random sampling by taking two classes, namely class VIII F using Problem Based Learning and class VIII D using direct learning. Data analysis using Independent Sample t-Test for one-sided test right on the post test and questionnaire with α = 0.05. Obtained a significant value of problem solving ability of 0.031 and self-efficacy of 0.038. Both significant values are less than 0.05. The conclusion in this study is Problem Based Learning affect the ability of problem solving and self-efficacy of students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the understanding of geometry based on the level of Van Hiele in terms of spatial intelligence in class X MA Al Hidayah 1 Purwareja Klampo. In the study divided into 3 groups: students who have high, low and medium spatial intelligence. The instruments used to collect data are tests, interviews, and documentation. The validation test used is technical triangulation, comparing the test results and the results of student interviews. The results of this study indicate that: 1) students who have high spatial intelligence are able to reach the level of the third level of van hiele (Understanding Deduction). 2) students who have spatial intelligence are able to reach the level of the second level van hiele (Informal Deduction). 3) students who have low spatial intelligence are able to reach evel van hiele stage 1 (Analysis).

Abstract

Developing and implementing Problem Based Learning using Lesson Study is very suitable for use in mathematics learning especially SPLTV. Moreover, this problem is related to daily life. Therefore this study aims to describe the implementation of lesson study with PBL learning models on the learning outcomes of the SPLTV substitution method in daily life in class X IIK 2. The researcher hopes that this research can improve student learning outcomes. This type of research is descriptive qualitative through Lesson Study activities consisting of three stages, namely Plan, Do and See with PBL models. Data collection techniques used were tests, observations and videos of the learning process in progress. The subjects in the study were class X IIK 2 as many as 35 students. So that student learning outcomes overall obtained from all groups was 96.43. This value is quite good, because above the KKM is 70 and close to perfect that is 100. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of lesson study with PBL learning models on student learning outcomes of SPLTV material substitution method in class X IIK 2 went well and effectively.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to describe the increased interest and learning outcomes of students in grade II at SD Negeri Tukangan Yogyakarta. This type of research is classroom action research. The subjects of this study were the second grade students of SD Negeri Tukangan with 20 students consisting of 12 male students and 8 female students. Data analysis using descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis to determine the percentage increase in interest and learning outcomes in mathematics. The results showed that the cooperative learning model Team Games Tournament (TGT) type could increase interest and learning outcomes of students in grade II mathematics learning in mathematics at SDN Tukangan Yogyakarta. The average percentage of student interest in each aspect of the pre-cycle was 57.7% with low qualifications, increasing in the cycle I to 72.2% with medium qualifications. In cycle II it again increased to 80.2% with high qualifications. The average mathematics learning outcomes in the pre-cycle 66.48 with 30% mastery learning, increased to 71.41 in the cycle I with 70% mastery learning and in the second cycle has increased with a mean value of 79.72 with 80% completeness learning.
