Abstract

Abstract. The growing important role of ICT companies in digital era has attracted many institutions and researchers to conduct studies to measure the value creation created by digitalization. However, not many of them emphasize the importance of financial information as a performance measurement for ICT companies that are useful for their sustainability in the rapid pace of technology. Therefore, this study aims to find the importance of financial ratios in assessing the performance of ICT companies. This study uses discriminant function analysis to find the best financial ratios that distinguish the ICT companies’ performance based on their grade in the credit ratings. The scope of this study is 70 US-based companies listed in US stock market within ICT groups with 35 companies in each group of Investment Grade and Non-investment Grade. There are 4 financial ratios that best discriminate the performance between the two groups which are ROA, CFO to current liabilities, total debt to EBITDA, and CFO to net sales. This model has a predictive accuracy or early warning ability of 87.1% in the latest full-year financial statements prior to rating date and 80% in the longer period (up to 3rd last full-year financial statements prior to rating date). Keywords:  Discriminant function analysis, financial ratio, performance, information and communication technology

Abstract

Abstract. Indonesia has been suffering from economic and social disparity. The most common gap occurs between rural and urban communities. This level of inequality also occurs within the villages themselves. Therefore, to support village development, The Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration of Indonesia has developed Developing Village Index (Indeks Desa Membangun) to provide information and village progress status. This paper reviews the relation of the Developing Village Index with local factors. The author applies several local variables of 434 municipalities/districts in all over Indonesia using data of 2017. By using Multiple Linear Regression as the methodology, the author found a positive and significant relationship between the Human Development Index (X1) and Population Size (X3) toward the Developing Village Index (Y). Besides, the author also found a negative and significant relationship between Area Size (X2) and The Regional Level of Surplus and Deficit (X5) toward the Developing Village Index (Y). At the same time, some variables do not have a significant effect on Developing Village Index such as Local Government Capital Expenditure (X4) and Local Grant (X6).Keywords: Developing village index, human development index, local government capital expenditure, the regional level of surplus and deficit, local grant.

Abstract

Abstract. This study investigates the employee perceptions of organizational environmental initiatives and their impact on pro-pro-environmental behaviors and frequency of involvement in upstream oil and gas companies in Malaysia, such as the Production Arrangement Contractor and Service Provider Company. The study also examines a new area where environmental work culture acts as a moderator. Analyzed using SmartPLS, our findings demonstrate that supervisory support for environmental initiatives and environmental training has a positive effect on employee perception of organizational support for pro-pro-environmental behaviors. In contrast, the organization's rewards for pro-environmental behaviors do not have a significant impact on it. Following this, the employees' perceptions of organizational support for pro-environmental behaviors positively affect employee engagement in pro-environmental behaviors in both forms of employees' frequency of involvement and employees' innovative pro-environmental behaviors. The findings discovered that environmental work culture moderates the relationship of the effect of the organization's support practices on employee perception of organizational support for pro-environmental behaviors. This study is one of the first attempts to investigate the relationship between the pro-environmental behaviors within the upstream firms in the oil and gas industry. The findings are useful for practitioners in terms of exerting pro-environmental behaviors and facilitating employees' pro-environmental behaviors in the upstream oil and gas management sector.      Keywords:  Employee perceptions, pro-environmental behaviors, organizational support, work culture

This empirical study proposes a comprehensive research model in an amalgamated way consisting of beliefs, social, quality, and trust aspects, to fill up the gaps of previous research studies in similar contexts. The quantitative research is employed to investigate six factors with behavioral intention to use a mobile wallet. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique was applied to analyze data and formulate the results. Survey data were collected from 234 potential mobile wallet users in Myanmar. The results of the study indicated that trust and perceived usefulness factors are significantly influencing behavior intention to use a mobile wallet in Myanmar. But service quality, user satisfaction, facilitating conditions, and social influence are statistically insignificant. The result of this study can be utilized by user acquisition managers, marketing managers, and business development managers to formulate the strategies and approaches for positioning their mobile wallet among a suitable user base, thereby acquiring more mobile wallet users. Keywords: Mobile wallet, mobile financial service, financial technology, behavioral intention

Abstract

Abstract. In the organizational context, innovation capabilities is influenced by knowledge management process. To improve the performance of innovation capabilities, further identification on most influential factors in implementing knowledge management is needed, referred to knowledge management enablers (KME). This study aims to determine the specific factors of KME dimensions affecting innovation capabilities in R&D organization. Furthermore, this study also focuses on the strength and direction of the correlation between KME dimensions of personal, organizational, and technology to innovation capability. Quantitative research approach was conducted and data were taken from 134 respondents of employees/researchers at research centers/units in a public R&D organization. The results show that personal dimension (interpersonal trust and learning motivation) becomes the most significant factor affecting innovation capability in the R&D organization, followed by technological dimension (ICT use,) with a correlation value of 0.44 (? <0.05) and 0.36 (? <0.05) respectively. The results of this study recommend that the governance of knowledge management process in R&D organization should be put mainly on personal dimension as a major driver of innovation. Keywords: Innovation capability, knowledge management enabler (KME), R&D organization
