Abstract

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs rely heavily on well-equipped facilities to effectively impart skill-based education. This study focuses on identifying and validating the necessary facilities for implementing an employability skills module in aluminium fabrication within Nigerian technical colleges. The research encompasses a population of 1181 individuals, including technical teachers, technologists, and industrial-based supervisors. Employing a multi-stage sampling procedure, a sample size of 318 participants was selected. Data was collected using the Implementing Employability Skills Module Questionnaire (IESMQ), validated by experts and assessed for reliability using Cronbach's alpha (α = 0.92). Additionally, constructs were examined through Average Variance Extracted (AVE) and Composite Reliability (CR) values of 0.54 and 0.89, respectively. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was employed to validate the appropriateness of identified facilities for implementing the employability skills module in aluminium fabrication. The results demonstrate convergent, construct, and discriminant validity. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the identified facilities receive prioritization and procurement to ensure the successful implementation of the employability skills module in aluminium fabrication and glazing work within the context of Nigerian technical colleges.

Abstract

Learning media in Refrigeration Engineering courses are still fairly monotonous, the media used at this time is only power point. The use of android-based media can be said to be rarely used in lectures today. Based on these problems, an android-based learning media is needed. The purpose of this research is to create and assess the feasibility of android-based learning materials in refrigeration engineering courses, especially refrigeration component material. This research method uses the DBR (Design Based Research) method. The research subjects are aimed at Refrigeration and Air Conditioning students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education who have and are contracting refrigeration engineering courses. Validation of learning media was carried out by two experts, namely material experts and media experts. The results of the assessment of learning media are said to be valid with a score of 85.3% by media experts, and a score of 82% by material experts, and a response value of 83.5% by students.

Abstract

In order to capture students' interest and improve the effectiveness of learning activities, media must be included in the educational process. The PPE (Planning, Production, and Evaluation). At SMK Negeri 1 Cimahi, the refrigeration system was the topic of a trial in class XI-TPTUP B. 36 students make up the samples. Tests and questionnaires served as the instruments. Interactive learning multimedia built on Macromedia flash was deemed "Very Eligible" with a media feasibility test percentage of 83,35%, according to the results. Acquisition of the 82.5% material due diligence percentage and "Very Eligible" material status. Macromedia flash-based interactive learning multimedia has been well-received. The utilization of interactive learning multimedia based on Macromedia flash is strongly supported by 87,22% of students. The acquisition of an N-Gain value of 0.58 and placement in the moderate category show that interactive learning multimedia built on Macromedia flash is also capable of enhancing student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The learning process is an effort to achieve the basic skills set out in the curriculum. In addition, assessment activities are carried out to measure and assess the level of achievement of basic skills. However, in the last 2 years, the practical learning process has been carried out online, so the assessment process with offline rubrics is less effective. Therefore, this research was conducted by making a virtual lab practicum assessment rubric with the Design Based Research (DBR) method, including 4 stages, namely; problem identification, prototype development, prototype trial and implementation, reflection for prototype. The research sample was 10 students of class X TPTU 1 SMKN 8 Bandung. The results of the rubric validity test from experts get a score of 92% with very feasible criteria, and the results of the rubric reliability test show the product is feasible to use with a reliability coefficient value of 0.644. Measurement of student competence also shows that the cognitive aspect gets 80% very good results, 10% good, and 10% sufficient, while the psychomotor and affective aspects get 100% very good results.

Abstract

The background of this research is that work readiness tends ti decrease due to several factors, one of which is work motivation. This study aims to determine the relationship between work motivation and work readiness in Mutiara Bandung Vocational School students. This research is a descriptive research and with a quantitative approach and survey design research type. Respondents in this study consisted of 40 students at SMK Mutiara Bandung who were or had implemented street vendors. The result of these findings indicate that work motivation has a strong and positive correlation with work readiness, and work motivation has a strong and positive relationship with a percentage of 42,6%. Based on these findings, the relationship beetwen work motivation and work readiness is in the strong, positive, and significant category.
