Abstract

The purposes of this research were to analyse the level of comparative and competitive advantage of sago processing enterprises in Konawe Regency; to analyse the impact of government policy on the comparative and competitive superiority of sago processing enterprises in Konawe regency. This study was conducted from March to June 2013 on 30 samples as the source of data. The data were collected from interview, and the method of sago processing was analyzed with Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM). The results of the study shown that the level of comparative and competitive superiority of sago processing enterprises in Konawe regency was at DRCR = 0,38 and PCR = 0,45. The local government policy concerning inputs in comparative and competitive superiority of sago processing enterprises shown a decrease of EPC = 0,77, and the policy regarding the price for sago processing outputs was Rp. -1.188.000, which suggested that the government policy has not been in favor of the sago processing enterprises. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ability and motivation on the performance of the savings and loan fund management unit for women. The study was conducted in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province with a sample of 51 administrators of a savings and loan fund management unit for women in the Rural Independent Community Empowerment Program. Determination of sample using census method. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). The results of the study showed that the score of the administrator’s capacity of the savings and loan fund management unit for women was 65 percent, while the motivation score was 75 percent, and the performance score was 82 percent. The results of SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) analysis show that the performance of the management unit of the savings and loan fund for women is influenced by ability with a coefficient value of 0.49 formed by education and knowledge with a coefficient of 0.75 and skills of 0.89. Motivation affects performance with a coefficient of 0.46 formed by fisilogis with a coefficient of 0.52, security of 0.66, possession and ownership of 0.67, appreciation of 0.58, self-actualization needs of 0.53.Keywords: abilities, motivations, performance, woman

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the productivity of seaweed cultivation, marketing channel and margins, any constraints and alternative steps in the development of seaweed business strategy in Konawe Selatan Regency. Data collection methods used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques, and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis. The results showed that the productivity of seaweed cultivation of dried products reached 8,559.988 kg/ha and productivity of wet products reaches 18,442.072 kg/ha. The absolute marketing margin on marketing channel I and channel II were Rp1,250 (14.71%)  and Rp 750  (8.57%), respectively. Based on the results of the AHP analysis known that the sequency of Relative Priority (RP) at the level of subsystems are the following: supporting subsystem components; marketing subsystem; production facilities subsystem; the processing subsystem; and production subsystems. The AHP analysis results known that the order of priority constraints consists of the institutional constraints; capital; human resources; selling price; productivity; seeds; and technology of postharvest processing; while the order of priority strategies comprises of strengthening strategy of institutional role; development of farmers capacity; strengthening of capital; seed breeding; and procurement of postharvest processing technology. Abstract

The study was conducted in Tongkuno District aimed at knowing livestock business income, and analyzing the competitiveness of beef cattle business. Data came from 78 respondents interviewed using a questionnaire. The variables observed included aspects of production: seeds / feeders, feed, cages, labor, agricultural feed, equipment and medicines; and aspects of income were livestock sales. Data were analyzed using income analysis and Polycy Analysis Matrix (PAM) to analyze competitiveness. The results showed that farmers' income was Rp. 2,319,102,935 with an average income per year is Rp. 5,946,418, and this activity is feasible to be developed with an R/C ratio = 1.6. The analysis shows that the competitiveness of beef cattle farms in competentive Tongkuno District competes with a PCR value of 0.6 and has comparative competitiveness with a DRC value of 0.8.Keywords: income analysis, beef cattle, competetive, comparative

Abstract

Consumers’preference can be determined through consumers’ level of preference to the products of catfish pecel. The preference describes the attributes of catfish pecel produced by the sellers and accepted by the consumers. The purposes of this study were: to analyze factors that consumers take into account when buying catfish; to measure consumers’ attitude and behaviors towards the products of catfish. Conducted in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, employed a Multiattribut Fishbone Attitude Analysis and Konjoin Analysis to measure consumers’ attitute and behaviors towards catfish pecel. The results of Multiattribute Fishbein Attitude Analysis showed that the consumers’ attitudes towards catfish pecel was 65,77 percent. This indicated that the consumers’ attitude was “good enough”, with 65,77 percent being higher that the expected 32,568 or 100 percent.  In other words, the consumers were satisfied and responded to the product positively, and it is therefore probable that they will consume the same product again, notwithstanding catfish pecel.  The results of Konjoin analysis showed that in terms of preference, the consumers’ of catfish pecel in Kendari are in favor of catfish with a measurement of 9-10 fish per kilogram, brownish black, medium taste, cheap, clean, and soft in texture.Keywords: catfish, catfish pecel, Fishbein, Conjoint
