Abstract

Distribution is the activity of moving products from sources to consumers using distribution channels at the right time (Assauri, 2004). A distribution channel is a structure reflecting alternative channels and various ventures (such as producers, wholesalers, and retailers). The objectives of this study are (1) Identification of patterns of food distribution (rice, garlic, groundnuts, kidney beans, mung beans) in Kupang city; (2) Identification of food supplier areas in the city of Kupang. This research is a set ofsurvey activities, and the data collected is sourced from primary and secondary data. The methods used in this study are descriptive method and the sampling technic which is taken from 100 traders in the city of Kupang which are situated in 4 main traditional markets (Oesapa, Oeba, Inpres, and Oebobo). The results showed that rice agents held 75 percent of the distribution patterns with the distribution system of rice as such: agents - distributors - retailers - consumers. Whereas 25 percent are local rice with distribution patterns, farmers - collectors - consumers. Regarding the garlic distribution, 100 percent held by garlic agents supplying directly to retailers before reaching consumers. Unlike garlic, peanut and mung beans distribution patterns are 90 percent held by collectors, and directly sold to consumers, and only 10 percent goes consumers through retailers.Kidney beans commodities 70 percent goes to traders - 10 percent goes to retailers - consumers. Sulawesi and Surabaya are the two main rice suppliers for the region make up 75 percent. Surabaya also funnels 100 percent imported garlic from China to Kupang. While groundnuts and kidney beans are provided 80 percent by TTS farmers, 15 percent Ende farmers and 5 percent from Surabaya. About mung beans, 70 percent are coming from Malaka district, 30 percent from Camplong, Oeso and Semau. Except for red beans which are sometimes supplied from Surabaya around 10 percent, the other types of beans are most of the times always available in NTT.

Abstract

The development in Wini Beach coastal area will have an impact on the destruction of the mangrove ecosystem which is a habitat for the life of the macrozoobenthic fauna. This study aims to determine the community structure of macrozoobenthos including abundance, diversity, evenness and dominance of the type of macrozoobenthos in the mangrove area. The study was carried out in the District of North Insana which included the mangrove area of Temkuna Beach (station I) and the mangrove area of Tanjung Bastian Beach (station II). Taking macrozoobenthos samples was carried out at low tide using the line transect method which was made perpendicular to the land in the mangrove forest area. The results of the study found 13 types of macrozoobenthos fauna spread over 2 stations namely the 8-type gastropod class, bivalvia class 4 types and 1 type crustacean class. Medium category (H ') = 2.41 index, Uniformity Index (E) = 0.938 classified as stable community and Dominance index (D) = 0.10 low category. The Equity Index score is classified as a stable conditionwhere no macrozoobenthos species dominate. Virtual sex chat with porn models on webcam. Moscow and the world! Abstract

Utiliztion of dryland and bareground in urban area is an opportunity as well challenge. One of the importat factors for land uses decician is evaluation of land capability and suitability. In agriculture, one of the causing of land degradation is unsuitable land uses. Therefore, PT. Angkasa Pura El Tari Int. Airport Kupang colaburated with academitients to conduct land evaluation at one of unmanaged land in urban area. This survey was conducted on the land of 10,078 Ha at Lasiana, Kupang city, East NusaTenggara Timur. The methods comprised of stated of aims, planning (overlay maps from ArcGIS 10,3), ground survey, data analysis (erosion prediction by USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) method, data compilation and presentation. The results provided two land units that considered in class III of land capability with limiting factors (soil depth, erosion level, soil fertility, drainase, and stony). Therefore there are some recommendations for land management, such as increasing soil depth by adding some soils, growing annual crops, forest trees, nursery, grassing combination with countering and terrasering on the land with high slope, tillage system, and organic matter amandement. Due to the location is in the urban areas (Kupang city), it is suggested to apply urban forest or urban farming development using multifunctional land uses approach, functioning for agriculture, natural conservation, social activities, education and agrotourism.

Abstract

The characteristics of flour much determine the quality of food products. Maize starch has several limitations to be developed into food products. Hence, to expand its use in food production, the starch needs to be modified. Modification of the starch can be done through the fermentation process. This modification is expected to change its physico-chemical aspects and functional properties. Some lactic acid bacteria (including L. bulgaricus and L.casei) are capable of degrading the corn cell wall, resulting in the starch granules to come out of the cell which eases the grinding process. L. bulgaricus and L. casei also can degrade starch contained in the growth medium into simple sugars, degrade proteins, and peptides into amino acids (Ganzle et al., 2008). The modified maize starch is also expected to be a proper substitution of regular flour in food products. The purpose of the research is to examine the quality of the modified starch through fermentation. The results showed that thefermentation time and concentration of bacteria dramatically affect the physical results where fermented corn was whiter and slightly acidic and chemically decreased the pH of corn flour to 4.5 and was relatively stable at 48 hours fermentation with a concentration of 4% and 6 %. The bestmodified chemical properties of local white corn are 36 hours fermentation with a concentration of 2% lactobacillus casei with a total protein value of 8.7%.

Abstract

This study aims is to find the response of antibody titers in chickens vaccinated with ND and given herbal remedies. The chickens used which were one day broiler (DOC) strain of CP 707. This extract groups were given to chickens from 7 days until 28 days in three treatment groups and one control group (drinking water). Serum samples were taken from chickens aged 7, 14, and 21 days after ND vaccination, followed by serological tests. The average that of antibody titers before were giventreatmentand 7 days post vaccination showed that the highest titers and the average antibody titers after vaccination at day 14, 21 and 28 days and post were given treatment with herbs and decoction of curry leaves were decrease. ANOVA analysis revealed that all treatments had no significant effect (P> 0.05) toward the number of antibody titers in tested broiler chickens. In the treatment of herbal medicine, a combination of herbs and decoction of curry leaves, and decoction of curry leaves whichwere given to chickens showed that there were the same number of antibody titers as the control of only drinking water. But the platelet values in the treatment group were higher than control (drinking water).

Abstract

The temperature of the environment outside the body increases, especially cattle, goats that are kept in cages without shade will cause manifestations of these reactions, namely increased frequency of respiration and body temperature and behavior that shows heat. The purpose of this study was to compare changes in respiratory frequency and body temperature of goat nuts, which were shaded with shade and without shade on the island's dry land. This study used fourteen 14 years old male goats. those goats are placed in 7 roofed cages and 7 cages without roof. The study was conducted for 30 days. The variables observed were respiratory frequency and body temperature. The analysis of the results of the study was carried out by t-student test by comparing the goat's breeds in cages with shade and cages without shade. The results of the t-test analysis show that the effect of roofed cages and without roof does not give a difference in respiratory frequency and body temperature. Goats raised in Kupang have implemented for a long time, both in the atmosphere of the cage withroof and without, so that goats have experienced acclimatization, which is a long-term physiological adjustment that causes increased tolerance to stressful complex and continuous climate which usually occurs in the field. This is the basis that the respiratory frequency and body temperature ofthe goats kept in a roofed stall and without, do not have a significant effect. It can be concluded that shade cages and without shade do not affect respiratory frequency and body temperature.

Abstract

Flies are an important vector in directing disease to livestock. It can cause economic losses for farmers such as decreasing the selling price of livestock products, especially meat and milk while losses to livestock are blood loss and weight loss. The aim of this study was to determine thediversity of species, patterns of activity of flies and their relationship to temperature, season, and sex. The research was carried out on semi-intensive cattle farms in the Oli'o dalam kom pasture and Kebun Nitas in Kupang Timur District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Flies samples were collected using the New Zealand 1 trap. Traps are installed randomly directly at the grazing location, while in cages, traps are placed at a distance of 3-5 meters from the cage guardrail. NZ1 traps are installed from 08:00 until 16:00, then the collection of fly samples is carried out at intervals of two hours from the time of installation, namely 10: 00, 12: 00, 14: 00 and 16: 00. Flies were collected and euthanized with 70% alcohol, then identified by species with identification keys (Dodge 1967) and(Masmeathathip, 2013). Then the data were analyzed descriptively and SEM, from the results of the research obtained by Musca domestika flies, Musca stabulans, Fannia canicularis, haematobia irritans and Tabanus striatus
